If the deal is done that will happen as GC have apparently put 5 as their price for May and Neale deal will get it done. It’s the rest of the deal that has not been established. Sounding like the deal will be done Tuesday allowing a day to do other deals for all concerned.

For a fit Jesse Hogan, with good attitude and no other issues that is a fair price. Maybe he doesn’t fit my description.

The main indicator to me of the Jesse deal being done, is that we have said we are doing it to get May and May does not seem to be panicking and talking to other clubs as a fall back position. If May is comfortable with what is happening, it’s because we have probably told him the deal will be done and to just hang in there. That suggests to me that Jesse will not be a Demon Wednesday night and May and KK will. What the deal is, who knows, depends who blinks first.

Freo had 6 and will get 5 for Neale. If Neale is traded they would have had both picks. Freo chose to get rid of 6.

With all of the diverse opinions and predictions posted on this thread, I am still to see any post more accurate than my early post, which was” we will either do the Hogan for May deal or we won’t”.

Depends who is the one that gets the call on whether it was right.

If he does it will be for less than 2 first rounders.

I get the feeling a number of clubs and managers are not going to forget Freo’s behaviour in this trade period.

Get the feeling that the AFL might get involved with the amount of deals being stuck and players in limbo. It is becoming a farce and a bad look for the AFL.

What part of “ we will not be pursuing JH “ is not clear? They are out of any JH deal.

There are 2 problems in the May scenario, getting him and fitting him in the salary cap. Dealing with the second first, he could be paid a modest amount in 19 and then more in later years as more players like Lewis and Jones retire and others are moved on. Getting him is harder unless GC are really desperate to move him on and are prepared to help. Our first pick next year and maybe a bundling of some of our picks this year and a player or two might be able to get it done though it would be highly unlikely. Would they have any interest in JKH, Wagner, Keilty, Joel Smith, Billy Stretch, Jeffy, ANB, Tim Smith as part of a pick/player package?
