Freo had 6 and will get 5 for Neale. If Neale is traded they would have had both picks. Freo chose to get rid of 6.

With all of the diverse opinions and predictions posted on this thread, I am still to see any post more accurate than my early post, which was” we will either do the Hogan for May deal or we won’t”.

Depends who is the one that gets the call on whether it was right.

If he does it will be for less than 2 first rounders.

What part of “ we will not be pursuing JH “ is not clear? They are out of any JH deal.

There are 2 problems in the May scenario, getting him and fitting him in the salary cap. Dealing with the second first, he could be paid a modest amount in 19 and then more in later years as more players like Lewis and Jones retire and others are moved on. Getting him is harder unless GC are really desperate to move him on and are prepared to help. Our first pick next year and maybe a bundling of some of our picks this year and a player or two might be able to get it done though it would be highly unlikely. Would they have any interest in JKH, Wagner, Keilty, Joel Smith, Billy Stretch, Jeffy, ANB, Tim Smith as part of a pick/player package?

We are an injury away from having too many forwards and Hogan has played defence as a junior.

Could it be Pies to clear Tom Langdon to Dockers to join his brother, on condition they pull out of Hogan deal, leaving them with an extra pick and being the only suitor for May.

We are trading a 23 year old possible champion forward, for a 27 year old defender, who will probably play on him when the teams meet.

JM may have put paid to our alternative May deals, when he said today, that without the Hogan deal we won't get May.

Hogan gone and we have May and KK, so nothing much. Also Freo shouting all the other FD's lunch.

Players that aren't getting a game might go, but GC would have to want them and that is the problem. I could nearly guarantee that we have had discussions with GC about getting the deal done without Freo, but it is extremely difficult to give something that they want, that we either want to keep, or just haven't got.
