WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
He is quicker than Birchall and unlike Birchall who often goes the short pass, KK seems able to gain ground and then pass over a decent distance and accurately. Would be a very good pick up for us if we can get him.

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
I think chemistry is created after the pre season starts and the players commit to the cause together and find the guys they like to hang out with. What we appear to be doing is changing our bottom 10- 20 and except for JH, losing no one from the top 22. If we bring in 4-5 players by trades who are serious top 22 contenders that has to be an improvement. If the next 4-5 brought in via the draft, have the chance to develop into top 22 contenders, that is a brilliant result. I don't think it is the number being replaced per se that is vital, but rather the abilities of the replacements. If I said we will lose Pedo and get Preuss, would anyone complain? If I said we get KK and lose Kent? Get Toby Bedford for McKenna. Gaff for Bugg. May and a top 5 kid for Hogan or better. While these are possible examples, they show what we are trying to do, make the list better. If the list looks better after draft night than it does today, we have succeeded in improving the list, which is a main aim of every club every year. If we lose JH and keep the rest of our best 22 and change 15 other spots, I would not lose any sleep.

Sounding like we are trying to tie him in the with the May deal and if we are forced to give away a high pick for May, we are trying to add real value to the deal. Would be very happy to get KK, as he has always looked a very good player to me.

And if the 10 we get in are nearly all better than the ones who left, your concern is?

Aaron vandenBerg not going - signs a new deal!!!
Article says he has a good relationship with the Coach and clearly would be happy with his last part of the season. Article also says he has to help run the family business and it is too hard from Melbourne. Also hasn't asked for a trade yet.

Yes we will "sort" them out.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Was that while living in WA? Interesting, as if so, it meant he couldn't see them play live very often.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I thought he was a Dockers fan. I am sure I have seen that somewhere.

Caroline Wilson banned from Demon function
I was told yesterday that this is a bit of a beat up and actually the decision not to attend was more of a joint one. Caro knew a few people were upset and it could be uncomfortable and mutually agreed not to attend. She wasn’t banned and will probably be back next year.

No but if it is a navicular, we may be very concerned. Do it again and that is real trouble. The injury also affects jumping and running take off.

There you go. That could be the answer.

Bruce was calling Salem "SARLEM" in the finals.

That was the back door way to avoid PP's, which are probably now dead in the water. I think the AFL is concerned that PP's affect all the other clubs and especially some that can't afford to be disadvantaged by having their picks become less valuable.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
There could be a million reasons why this is happening and unless we hear the real ones from the people who know, we are all just speculating, but that is part of the fun of trade period. Possible reasons this is happening, feel free to add your own: Freo has offered ridiculous money. Dees have decided not match the Freo offer in the coming years. JH wants to go home to his family. Dees are worried about his injury/injuries. JH is not as close to the boys as he was. JH is disappointed with our success without him. JH always wanted to play for the team he supported. Dees feel JH is not fully invested. Dees see some negatives in his game. Dees see some negatives in his attitude. JH doesn't get on with some on the Coaching panel. JH wants to play with a mate or mates at Freo. Dees feel he won't be here in a year or 2 and don't want to hold back the development of game style and other players. Dees feel we play ok without him. Dees feel we can get an unbelievable deal now that will help us get to our next flag. JH prefers Perth coffee. Dees have promised number 1 to May. JH is sick of the Melbourne music scene. Etc. feel free to add your own.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yes. It wasn't the we would love to keep him type of comment, but rather we understand players move and there would be no hard feelings, unlike his move from the Crows. Then went on to talk about playing alongside May and how good that would be. Just felt like he knew JH was gone and knew about another player coming in.

Rumour File
That was one of my 2 options. BTW, a payout is usually a saving on the full fee.
