  1. I would. Don't need or want them.

That is a very good question. Given their recent high priced acquisitions and their already highly paid players, it is difficult to understand how they are fitting in so many more not cheaply paid player. Maybe a lot of new employees/consultants at Visy, who are related to Carlton players.
  3. it suggests that their plan is in place, whatever it is.

I think your first line is a bit harsh Picket, especially given the post above this one. I think he went with them simply because we couldn't get a deal done.
  5. Unless I have miscalculated, we have 2 picks atm, with Hore and Declase unsigned, meaning maybe 2 more spots if they are not kept. I think we are waiting to see if Melk gets a gig somewhere else. If we are using 17 this year and hopeful of getting Mac after 20, Woey Junior and Moniz-Wakefield, we will need 4 spots.

I wonder if there is anyone who we drafted at pick 1 years ago, who did the dirty on us and never won a flag at his next two clubs, who is thinking "what if". Karma indeed.
  7. Agree. He is the one that could be very handy for us, at a cheap pick. I posted as much a while ago and at 22 and 195cms he is the right age and versatile.

Froggy open the doors and windows and let it blast.
  9. Agree. We are really lucky to have JT and his team, because there are better players coming through, that will not necessarily be high draft picks, who will be better than many of the players currently changing clubs. Good development and shrewd drafting are the foundation of future success and we are now good in both those areas. Given we have a good young list, we can cherry pick a player or two and otherwise draft for the future. That is why a Mac Andrew is less of a risk for us, than other clubs using a high draft pick, as he will not be an instant AFL player. Clubs below us want an instant return, whereas we can take some time to develop players to replenish the list as our current list is a young one that has proved itself.
  10. Carlton looms as one potential candidate for Lewis Young as it searches for key position depth. The Blues have also been linked to a possible play for West Coast's Jarrod Brander. With Cerra and Hewitt, it looks like Carlton will get every player changing clubs in the AFL.
  11. Sertiously? Bont wouldn't help, Walsh, Dusty, Max King, De Goey, Andy Brayshaw, Luke Ryan, Whitfield, Toby Greene, etc, etc. The list can always be improved and if we think it can't, we will go backwards.

Well maybe not God, but certainly one of his prophets.

Lord Nev has given the answer above and additionally our first pick is 33, hardly a top pick. Would imagine JT would be thrilled to get Mac at 33.

Mac is managed by Tracc’s brother Julian. GWS looking likely to take him. I am sure he will be very homesick in 2 years.

Wish they were running our club, so we could get the number 1 draft pick each year.
  16. Agree. I thought he looked ok playing CHB at Casey too. Given we have only 2 ruckmen and the 195 cm Daw, who will be 31 and is very slow, I am surprised we let this kid go. I wonder if they can rookie him again.

Good post BB. Log on Saty and be part of the group love in, you deserve it. Your unswerving loyalty to the club can’t ever be questioned. Enjoy our success, with those of us who appreciate your efforts.
  18. Very unlucky and wish him well in the future. Never had the chance to show his ability.
  19. I find it surprising that given his history of finals failure, they have persisted and extended his contract. No wonder young players want out.
  20. Pretty sure he and his Manager said he was staying a Pie.

Melksham might seek a new club as could Chandler, Baker and Bedford. Whatever is done this year with the list, will also have next years plans factored in. It is a balancing act, to allow for a certain amount of change each year. Fantastic for us, we also have the Premiership recruiter.

I think he should go to Carlton, as they are such a strong, well run, stable club, with a great culture, who play a magnificent team based game.

Interesting that we have delisted Bradtke and now have only Daw, at 195 cms and 31 before next season, as a backup to Max and LJ. JT must have something in mind to provide us with some ruck depth.

Well said Samantha. Nev retires a Demon great, liked by all. Well done Nev. Enjoy your retirement and hopefully it sees you with a new role at the MFC.
  25. That’s not the point. We all know Tracc wouldn’t give a rat’s, but it is a discussion of a totally flawed AFL award.
