  1. As there is nothing else happening on that day, it will be great to watch the Dees as the main event in town, or the Country for that matter.
  2. Big event on saturday, Dees v Roos.
  3. JVR might be only 193 cms, but he plays like 194 cms.
  4. Did he get a week when he kissed his brother?
  5. Disappointing. Well we at least hold some records for MRO/Tribunal penalties. Only club to have a player suspended for 4 matches for a sling tackle ( twice - ANB and Jack Trengove) Only club to have a player suspended for rough play, without actual contact with the opposition player ( Brent Moloney ) Only player to be suspended for an elbow on the throat of an opponent ( Viney ) One of few if any other clubs, to have a player suspended for 2 matches, for an otherwise legal tackle, that became illegal, only as a result of the opponent being concussed. Only club that has had a player suspended for standing still, while a player ran into him, bounced off and got a whiplash concussion without head contact ( May ). I am sure I have missed a few other records we hold at the MRO/Tribunal.
  6. I think we should support Kade and appeal. Win or lose it doesn’t matter, just show support for our player. FWIW the last few tackle suspensions appealed were successful, if I recall correctly. Someone posted that Hawkins has concussed 3 players in tackles without suspension. He is much bigger than Kade and able to do more damage with heavy tackles, but has repeatedly got away with it. There are plenty of precedents to show to the Tribunal.
  7. Think it was GC Holman.
  8. Both.
  9. Bowey - love this kid - tough as nails - just never panics - team's best disposer - hardly ever beaten - brilliant draft selection
  10. Daisy, I bow to your superior horticultural knowledge. Why were so many of our players slipping over and not the Eagles? Do they wear different footwear? We do seem to slip over a fair bit in some games.
  11. Given our players were continually slipping, I wouldn't imagine it was a rock hard deck.
  12. Nasher of course it is relevant to the case if he lets go of Foley before Foley hits the ground, as one is a fairly standard tackle and the other then becomes more of a driving into the ground tackle. Clearly they are different tackles. It is also not self evident that if the player could have softened the blow he would have, as there are many reasons for and factors that cause actions and reactions. Anyway it is bringing the lawyer out in me and enough of that. I actually feel sorry for both players.
  13. I was dealing with the principal of the issue. However, you are probably correct, in that he could get a week and not really suffer any game loss. He would however have been found guilty of an offence and been suspended and that might really matter to Kade.
  14. Yes but one was a lean on the neck/jaw for a second or two, the other was a choking, around the time of a bloke being killed in the USA, by on the ground choking.
  15. Well we can disagree, but Trengove slung Dangerfield and that is different. Also, just to highlight some of the inconsistencies, the Tribunal was told that Dangerfield was injured and wouldn’t play the next game. He in fact did and was BOG. So poor Jack got a very heavy penalty for a new rule infringement, based on incorrect evidence. 4 weeks for that sling was an absolute joke. ANB will agree, after his suspension was completely out of kilter with his offence as well. Anyway we will see what happens.
  16. No worries, but on what basis should he be suspended ? Which rule has he infringed?
  17. Viney’s continued for far too long.
  18. Forget that Chandler is a Demon and look at the tackle. He brings down Foley at full pace and as shown from the behind vision left side, lets go of him before they hit the ground. It’s not a bump, or a sling and is one action at full pace, where he released the player before ground contact. On that basis he has done everything reasonably expected of a player. According to Simpson, Foley is fine and I am unsure as to whether he was concussed. There is absolutely no basis for a suspension or fine on that tackle and I would say that about any player. That said, the MRO has proven itself to be inconsistent and hypocritical in dealing with incidents.and nothing would surprise me. Given Chandler is not a star player he will be treated differently and harsher than if he was one. If suspended we should appeal.
  19. The way he bounced up after that hit and was in a contest soon after, WOW, just WOW.
  20. Matthew Pavlich agreed, saying it was a perfect tackle.
  21. Agree Jack. It was just pathetic.
  22. Have not seen Mac play any footy this year but I have seen JVR and he will be playing a lot of AFL footy for us. Very happy he is a Demon.
  23. Daw just dominated the ruck today.
  24. Daw-WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
