The parking inspectors get hopping mad.

Not sure if new players feel pressure from numbers of past champions, but I would prefer Taj gets a higher number, which eliminates that extra pressure.
  3. Another poster had already answered for me.
  4. We might be getting to a position where the list runs so deep, that capable players just can’t get a game. Now being a premiership team, some of those players will want to be traded to get their opportunities. In the past they would be seen as freebies or NQR’s, whereas now they will be seen in a different light by the other clubs and become tradeable for draft picks, which when bundled in pick swaps, improves our draft hand. Then when JT gets to work, you hopefully pick up more young talent and the list keeps improving. That provides a sustained opportunity for more success, while our core group of champions are still at their best. Hopefully you replace some of them with more very good players, knowing that real champions are not always around or available. TBH and not getting carried away, it would not be stupid to say that this current team has a real chance to win a few more flags while it’s core is still playing well. Of course, luck with injuries is still hugely important and hard work has to be a given. We are now in a very good position to have continued success and as fans, we have a chance to reap a lot of enjoyment from our club after years of disappointment.

Froggy I was unaware you were unwell. Please accept my apology and I hope you are on the mend soon. The lily pad will not be the same without your contributions. I hope the flag is helping you mend and watching the replay is not hindering your exercise. All the best for a safe and happy xmas and new year, regards from your mate on the other side of the pond, Redleg.

Life takes us in different directions and hopefully Jesse is happy at GWS, but he must have watched the GF with a lot of “what if” thoughts. No I wasn’t talking about Jesse, Maurisey got it in his post above. Hiw are the lily pads in WA Froggy?
  7. Agree. I think the 3rd goal of the last and it could have been ANB, or Langdon, when we hit 7 goals up and with about 15 minutes left, I started to tear up, realising we had just won the flag.

He’s back, having grown about 21 cms and pretending to be a 2022 draft possibility, playing in South Australia with West Adelaide. Will be drafted next year, ensuring the thread continues for another 10-15 years. How ironic if we draft him again.

Why blame Pert? I am sure he would have preferred Friday/Saturday night, or Saturday afternoon, so kids and country Dees fans could attend and see flag unfurled. I think he just suggested first round, not Wednesday night. Another pathetic AFL decision.
  10. Well the AFL obviously didn’t listen to him. He wanted a rematch so that all the fans in Victoria could attend and see the flag unfurled. Clearly young school kids and country fans don’t count according to the AFL. Why the hell weren’t we given Friday or Saturday night or even Saturday afternoon so we could maximise the attendance. My 3 Dees fans grandchildren are 3 for a start who won’t be able to go, after missing all the finals like the rest of us Victorians. IMO it is another pathetic AFL decision.

Agree. Say goodnight to a big crowd with no school kids. Would have thought the GF replay would have been used to let as many fans go as possible and that is Friday/Saturday night if at night and not Wednesday night. Another wonderful AFL decision.
  12. Or we play Petty forward with Tomlinson back, or hope that that JVR is ready to try, or we play Tom Mac at ff and use a more mobile smaller chf like maybe Melksham or even Hunt, or use Mitch Brown or Daw as a fill in. We have options.
  13. I would take some video of Barassi at his front door lifting the cup and appearing to pass it over. Then do the same with say Hassa Mann and a couple of other older ex players creating the impression of them passing it to each other. That would allow Ron to be involved and not breach his isolation. Finally the cup would be passed to Nathan Jones, on the video, who could then join say Brian Dixon, a former great and anti merger proponent, at the ground to present the cup. It would be a form of Olympic Flame relay, that would increase the involvement numbers, firstly on the big screen and then live, making the event even more memorable. Nathan Jones deserves the honour and I am sure he would be very appreciative of the gesture.
  14. Doubt it.
  15. I would say 2 genuine ruckmen and fill ins. Daw is not a genuine ruckman.
  16. MELBOURNE has signed Next Generation Academy talent Andy Moniz-Wakefield as a Category B Rookie on Friday afternoon.
  17. I presume he will now be ours as a Cat B rookie.
  18. Fair enough but it can be confusing. I thought if no one nominated Taj and Andy M-W we could take them as Rookies saving money and keeping a senior list spot.
  19. Think WC disagree. Would have seen a bit of him.
  20. But why do you give away a higher pick this year for a known lower pick next year?
  21. We could have taken Williams with the pick we traded, giving us a Hawkins type who can ruck a bit as well as key forward. Andy M-W looking likely rookie and If no one picks Taj he could then be another. Are we looking at a ruck forward type in maybe Caminitti, or however you spell his name? Interesting to see the plan.

I was wrong in believing he wouldn't be an early selection. I agree with your post and am stunned that of all the clubs, the Suns took him, a club that needs urgent and immediate success, to keep its star players and maintain membership and financial support, let alone to ease the pressure on the Coach.
