  1. Maybe we should ask Clarry, Tracc, Viney, etc in the middle and maybe Kozzie and Spargo in the forward 50, if they would be happy with Grundy rucking for them.
  2. I think with respect you are factually wrong in a lot of this post. We had Cerra, but couldn't do a trade better than Carlton's pick 5. So obviously we could fit him into the our cap at the time. We were offering Jacko a pretty good contract as reported, but he wants to go home. He is not leaving just for money. If he was, we would have probably retired Melk and Hibbo which would have left an extra amount in the pot. A poster on here said he had personal reasons as well and I accept that is probably true. We know he loved the players and the club. All clubs have name players on varying amounts of money and we are not alone in that regard. Why are we bringing in Grundy, maybe Gunston and are chasing another key forward, as well as keeping Hibbo and Melk, if we have no salary cap room then?
  3. Why must it? Every side has their better players who are on good contracts. There are so many variables and actual amounts we know nothing about. That's why I never refer to salary cap space, because I wouldn't have a clue what our numbers are from year to year, but I know that Tim Lamb would.
  4. Seriously, people declaring what our cap space is, is ridiculous , when they haven’t got a clue as to the actual figures.
  5. The same way Tigers will fit Taranto and Hopper and others in. We won’t get McKay, so that won’t be a problem anyway. Would love Tom DeKoning and could then bypass Grundy, but that seems a done deal. I am sure we are looking at another key forward besides Gunston.
  6. Getting Grundy clearly doesn’t mean we aren’t chasing key forwards as well.
  7. Shorter.
  8. Marshmallows will do that to you.
  9. He is only 1-2 cms shorter than Tom and is an experienced and smart footballer. He would make us better for a couple of years and stop the bombing to the pocket game plan, thank G-d. Tom Mac re injured the same foot after being stood on last week and could be doubtful to get it fully right, who knows.
  10. And they won't go up in the same pack all the time. They can spread.
  11. Is 31 in October so probably has 2 good years left. 193 cms.
  12. Well done, personally I love the rumours, even if not all happen as rumoured.
  13. Bell is playing his little game again and pushing up the price.
  14. Time to move in with the girlfriend.
  15. Did you post that in response to my earlier post to start rumours about Butters and Rozee?
  16. They are getting Rioli, do they need Kozzie? Maybe the rumours need to start that we are into Rozee and Butters.
  17. I really think WC are just posturing. I think they know LJ is Freo bound and just want to be able to say to their members we tried, but we weren't going to mortgage the place for him. We clearly won't get 2 if he goes to Freo and then we won't get Cadman most likely either. Maybe we don't even rate Cadman that highly. I wonder if JT has a couple of boys in mind he thinks he can get, with 2 slightly lower picks and maybe them and a 2nd rounder, or a player from the Dockers, is enough for us. We could then say we got 3 players for LJ. Our first pick in the late 30's can then be used for Grundy and I wouldn't give any better.
  18. I am so happy for a team that knocked us out of the finals, to know that they are getting the number 1 kid in the draft, while getting to a PF and are also picking up another father /son in Fletcher. Some are saying Ashcroft could have a Nick Daicos like impact in his first season.
  19. I would imagine we would be examining him with our medical team pretty closely, before any deal is done. Of course there are no guarantees. He could do his knee in a scratch match. I am thinking that the FD see this as Grundy being the main ruck during the season, doing lets say 60-70% and Max maybe the rest, with only a small amount of time forward, maybe just to unsettle defences. This would allow Max to remain fitter and fresher for finals and hopefully to play on longer. If a key forward went down in a game, Max might play a bit more there. I could also see him not playing some interstate games as well. I see this as a way to prolong Max's career and have him as a fresh weapon in finals, as opposed to the banged up Max we had this year, with multiple injuries that he played through. It is obvious to me that the Max of this year's finals, was a shadow of last year's. This could all be down to us managing one of our key assets.
  20. WC come out and say they really want LJ, but won't include Pick 2 and we are helping a club salary dump, a currently injured, 29 year old and a first round pick is being thrown around as the payment. Wow! I think Grundy will be good for us, if he is fit, btw.
  21. Makes sense. “We want the most exciting player available this trade period, but don’t want to pay a proper price for him.”
  22. If you look at him on the ground he doesn’t look 190cms.
