  1. Jackson would be enormous for us. He is better than nearly any key forward we have, with only JVR in the discussion. He is a ruckman who would be great playing with Max, as we know and especially more valuable after he is gone. He is also good around the ground and is effectively another big mid. It's probably easier to replace Kozzie, than find a Jackson.
  2. If we have a good season this year, watch the player agents sounding us out for their players who want to move clubs.
  3. If Giants beat Pies, I think they will not risk Green, but if they lose they might feel they need to play him. With the bye the next week after our game, you would think they would give him the extra two weeks to recover.
  4. Ran 3rd, a great effort for a 9 year old. Probably have 1-2 more runs before retirement. Don't forget Centre Square in race 4 today at Edenhope, with Clarry and me as part owners.
  5. I note we are on page 34, the same number Dees' jumper that is vacant this year.
  6. Must be a syndicator. Good way to have an interest in a racehorse cheaply.
  7. Can’t wait for the pre zero round.
  8. Giants have a bye after our game, so unless he was 100% fit, they would probably give him the the extra fortnight.
  9. The wither. If you like clams, I have Vongole running in the last at Moonee Valley friday night.
  10. Saw Clarry at Ciaron Maher stable doing interviews yesterday. Update on horse he is in with me. Has been disappointing lately and it is having probably its last start for us on saturday, in race 4 at Edenhope. It’s number 1 and prophetically called “ centre square “. Tbh, I only took a share, ignoring my usual selection methods, because Clarry was involved.
  11. Are you talking to me?
  12. Which Clarry is brilliant at.
  13. Info on it happening, not on an announcement. I think the club said we hoped to have it all agreed by about July.
  14. Hopefully we are going to get an announcement soon that the project is approved and going ahead. That will of course narrow the discussion on our future training ground and administration centre, which will be at Caulfield Racecourse.
  15. You mean lucky to replace AMW.
  16. Caulfield is a lovely suburb.
  17. No, but generally 35 scoring shots will. We butchered set shots and kicking only an AFL average would have seen us win convincingly.
  18. If its 35 at game time, I would be seeking agreement to shorten quarters and play all of the emergencies on a rotation basis to give more breaks.
  19. Unbelievable that 6 hours after a VFL practice match, with listed AFL players on both sides, we only know the scores.
  20. Possibly illness, or a family commitment, or some injury awareness, or some other reason.😉
  21. Not many talls are better than ok below the knees, a good kick and a nice mark would describe many AFL players. Being better in those categories usually is a description of the better players in the AFL.
  22. While not with the same enthusiasm obviously, I do share PF’s view that Jeffo will make it and I have held this view since early on after he started at Casey. I don’t think he will be the “smash the pack” type key forward, but rather a bit more like Fritta, with the advantage of a bigger body. He is a good kick, nice mark and ok below his knees. To me the missing ingredient is confidence and a feeling of belonging, rather than “the next time I make a mistake I am gone” type of feeling. It appears from some recent comments that the Coach is a fan and we will see how he goes this year, Jeffo’s most crucial so far, as he heads towards that “will he or won’t he” decision by the FD.
  23. Yes but each club had the same categories, some best 23, some depth, some season, some earlier.
  24. Guess which club had the longest list.
