Could be as simple as at a function Pert is asked is Clarry gettable and he might have said for the right price most players are. Then that spreads to we are shopping him.

Fair enough Billy, but I won't be leaving my club because some players do, no matter who they are and including Clarry, my favourite player. I also think the club may know more about our players, than we do from the outside.

Looks like you were right. However after a lifetime supporting this club, given what I have invested emotionally, I will never give up on them, even if Clarry, my favourite player leaves and anyone else for that matter. I have made my bed with the Dees and I will lie in it forever.

Sam DeKoning plus would be a good start. Would you do Shannon Neale and Sam DeKoning? Forward back up ruck and key back.

    .
  7. Congrats to Andrew and hope he is successful at the Eagles, except for losing every time against the Dees.

As Marilyn Monroe sang in the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: "A kiss on the lips might be quite continental, But bananas are a girl's best friend."

Now the important time starts for 17 teams, trading and drafting.
  10. Agree, I would be happy to underrate a dozen more flags for us.

In a modified competition, real depth is difficult, but with losses of players off season and massive injuries the results are predictable. Also a lack of skill and over handballing is not helping.

Could have turned out first sod.

Lovely day, might go for a walk.
  14. Like any Dees player, wish him well in retirement and thank him for his efforts.

Faris -White was a Category B rookie so not a general list spot.

You mean Smith not Turner. Brayshaws spot went to Kentfield.

    So Katy Perry loves bananas.

Well you have me convinced now. Since we are talking racing, I have Struck Gold in the last today at Geelong at 5.00pm.

Unlikely if we have just got Wade D to commit to us. We still have Jeffo and Kentfield to come.
  20. I always thought you had a bit of Hercule Poirot about you from your postings.
  21. It seems like we are simply looking for ruck cover if needed, from a senior guy for a year. It may be that we think Verrall needs another year of development, with an occasional game in the seniors this year, but not be expecting him to carry the ruck work alone at Casey. We gave up on KFW and are possibly looking at drafting another ruckman to develop, but in the meantime for next year at least, need some experienced cover. If it’s Campbell he is obviously a short term solution, with the FD giving up on Fullarton as a ruckman.

And Hogan, Cadman, Gruzewski and Riccardi up forward.

I don’t believe it is, but it could prove to be a very helpful factor in financing the project.
  24. Agree with you on the flags in your first paragraph as it is way too simplistic a measure to be definitive. Fwiw, I also think Scott is a better Coach than Goodwin, but I am unsure on that description “demonstrably.” It is very hard to measure who is the better Coach, because of so many variables in the analysis. An interesting comparison could be to look at the last final we played against each other in 2021 PF where they had a great side on paper with Selwood and multiple other stars and we smashed them. Then this year when they were in red hot form and unbeaten we beat them with a much poorer side on paper. Does that go some way to helping with a decision, maybe/maybe not? Does it prove who is the better Coach, no it doesn’t. In the final it was do or die and in our recent meeting it was a red hot team being beaten for the first time. That would at least though suggest Goodwin did pretty well in those games, against the Coach some say is the best in the game.
