NON-MFC: Round 21, 2022
Did you notice Pendles come in late, as Langdon was lying on the ground with 2 fists resting/pushing into his face, with a forearm to the jaw? Yes the clean Pies Captain, who then whinges to the umpires for the whole game, like he does every week.

NON-MFC: Round 21, 2022
See my new rule of the week thread. He had at least 3 frees in that incident without one being paid. I thought it was disgusting. The commentators are now confirmed garbage as their comments were not about any free missed but that the violence showed the Pies had come to play. What about the pile drive of his head into the ground by Maynard? MRO will be a nothing to see hear from ex Pie Christian.

Demons will win the flag in 2022.
Here is my take. Yes we can still win it. While we are not the best team atm, I think our best is enough to win it. We need to find it quickly. What I think we need to get to our best: A good run with injury. Improved goal kicking accuracy. A ruthless and maniacal attack on the ball and player with the ball. Increased and sustained pressure. Selflessness and playing for the team. Increase the 1%’s. Variety in forward 50 entry and kick outs from points. Stop the predictable, unsuccessful this year, long bombs to the forward pocket boundary. Players need to lead into space, or get into space and this needs to be honoured, with the forward entry kicks. Variety also for the kick ins in defence, to allow for fast entry into our forward 50 and set up one on one contests, as Defenders can’t get back quick enough. Small forwards to rove the pack on forward contests, instead of being 20-30 metres away. Kozzie to give up trying to take mark of the year. He hasn’t taken one of these attempts in his career so far. Play two tall key forwards for finals and if weather ok, now. Swap ANB for Bedford/Chandler. Stop the mad handball at all costs policy and especially don’t handball to Max in the forward 50 where he hasn’t got time to react and give it off. Gut running. Use the sub if necessary, to gain an advantage, as every other club but us does. Bring Bowey in, probably for Hibbo, who seems to have lost his edge, even if played forward for some of the game. Need good users of the ball to create opportunities. Tackle to hurt like Maynard. Anyway that’s a good start. We can win this year if we play our best.

Forward Half Concerns
We are probably the only side in the AFL that refuses to let players lead and make space in the forward 50. This chaos footy is not winning us games anymore. Considering we can win contested possession, how about using it to our advantage rather than creating more contested possession attempts?

New Rule of the Week
New rule of the week. It is fine to pile drive a player's head into the ground, then with another player attack him on the ground, by punching or forcing your fists into his face ( see picture in Herald Sun ), and then have the opposition Captain come in and drive his elbow into his face/head, if that player has made public comments about the opposition. Just pathetic and laughed at by the commentators, calling it a sign that the Pies had come to play. Bonus new rule is, the side with the loudest supporters, will be given all the time they need to dispose of the ball when tackled, while other side will be subject to split second opportunity.

Melbourne - One Trick Pony
Yes we are different, we can never win a close one and struggle to win in Victoria.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
So were the tackles on Lipinski and Crisp in our goal square in the last and the McCreery one earlier and others all ignored. Even the Pies Commentators called them. We will say nothing as usual. Same as the Dogs game. 15 holding the ball frees to one.

Demons won't win the flag in 2022.
Agree. We have to find a way to get back to it. If we end up somehow playing a QF, no matter the opponent and after a short break, finding our best form, we can still win this year. We have to reclaim our relentless pressure, accurate kicking for goal, selflessness and total ruthless attack on the man/ball.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
JJ is not the reason we lost and far from it.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
And that makes the loss even worse. When you dominate possession and inside F50 you don’t lose. This is undone, by poor coaching and disgraceful kicking for goal.
-
POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
We refuse to lead into space inside F50 and when we do are ignored. Fitness, coaching and goal kicking lost that game. Umpiring didn’t help.

Johnson is 24.

Collingwood - One trick pony
Count the missed sitter goals by us, that then just rebounded for goals by them. If we kicked a few of the gimmes we win. Should have been up by about 6-7 goals at half time. Our poor kicking for goal kept them within distance.
-
Collingwood - One trick pony
If we had kicked some of our gimme goals we would have won easily and that has happened a few times this year.

Collingwood - One trick pony
The answer was given early, when Maynard drove Langdon's head into the ground the first time he touched it and then 5 more Pies jumped on Ed and roughed him up. Why on earth would you give an opponent an edge?

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
I tried not to have a go at a ruckman, who has had 31 possies and run himself into the ground. If you want me to though I will, his kicking for goal is disgraceful. People on here want him up forward, please, he is so slow to give the ball off that when they handball to him, it is a rebound. Salem shouldn't smile after missing that goal, if your head is truly in the game you wouldn't. Kozzie was hopeless tonight and I agree he shirked the contest and then tried to play pretty. The Pies were maniacal. Look at their ferocity at the ball and the man. Maynard could have killed a few of ours. Didn't see that from us. They use the ball well and we don't. They kick their goals and we don't. Fancy having 93 more possies and about 30 more inside 50's and losing. That is unbelievable. They don't have a total momentum killer on the ground like we do.He has cost us two games IMO. I don't care about pressure acts, if you turn it over every possession. Chandler must be packed up ready to leave, if he can't get a game ahead of ANB. We lost our fitness guy and it is showing. We have been run over about 7 times now. We have won one game in Melbourne in the last 10. The kicking of bombs to the pocket is costing us games. It may have helped us get a flag, but as Scott said, we are so predictable and easy to play against and it is costing us badly. Our coaches appear to have done absolutely nothing about this. I know what Goody will say, we didn't play our game well enough and long enough.Well how about saying I have not coached well this year. It helps when the umpires give about 6 soft goals to the opposition and you can't buy a basic free.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
But we bomb it long and play a total momentum killer who is never dropped. Hope your smiling now Salem after an easy goal missed. Cant wait for the we will smash Carlton predictions. We have won one game in Melbourne in last 10.

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
This why I never post that we will smash a side.

GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
They kick to loose men and we bomb it in usually to the boundary.

That’s an understatement.
