  1. I think player was pushed into him, or he was pushed into player.
  2. If we win our 2 and Pies beat Swans you get your wish.
  3. Gerard Whately described it as good entertainment. A bloke being attacked, head driven into the ground, elbows and fists on his face, while on the ground defenceless, against 5 players. Yep great entertainment. Stuff the rules. I think we need some nastiness back in our play. Maynard smashed Langdon and ANB and also belted Max in the back of the head, in a spoil in our forward pocket. No free to Max of course. We need to get nasty and ruthless with our tackles and tackle to hurt. Teams need to know that we mean business. I think we have become nice guys, helping the opposition up off the ground and joking with them during the game. Harden up guys and hit hard and often.
  4. Has been going on all season.
  5. How do you reckon Paddy Ryder will feel, considering he stopped, stood still and a player ran into him and got whiplash? He copped 2 weeks. No concussion, no bump.
  6. Did you think Chandler's legal tackle, until a concussion resulted, deserved his two? Did you think ANB's sling deserved 4 in a 17 week season?
  7. You may only have to wait a few weeks for our chance to dish out some punishment. We win both and Pies beat Swans and it’s on.
  8. I have mentioned it in 3 threads. Do you mean the media, they are agenda based?

ANB has just fainted. MRO reason was head smashing into the ground was not severe enough. Give us a break.

In the Hibberd and Viney goal frees, the ball was immediately knocked from their grasp, just as they grabbed it. McCreary was allowed ages to just keep trying to get rid of the ball, until he dropped it and Sidebottom was swung around 360 twice and both play on. Lipinski and Crisp both dropped the ball, after being held by one arm, in our goals square and play on. There is 6 decisions all going one way to one club no matter what the circumstances. Is it incompetence, or fear of the crowd, just like the Crows deliberate last year, which wasn't paid. I know players make mistakes and umpiring is difficult, but seriously, how does it go one way?

We win our 2 games and Pies beat Swans, then we play Pies at G in a QF. ( Third time lucky? ) That will do me.

Another problem is he made no attempt to touch the ball, just braced for the bump and got him.

That’s what I said. Disgraceful umpiring, but what can you expect with 40000 screaming all game at them.
  14. Throw in Treacy and yes. Would mean you pick up a ruck and 2 key Vic forwards for Jacko as you would get Cadman. Fun and games.
  15. Why would Dogs let him go? Of course we would be thrilled to get him, but surely he is untouchable.
  16. Great mark and ok kick but he is 192 cms. We were very interested in drafting him.

Did you notice Pendles come in late, as Langdon was lying on the ground with 2 fists resting/pushing into his face, with a forearm to the jaw? Yes the clean Pies Captain, who then whinges to the umpires for the whole game, like he does every week.

See my new rule of the week thread. He had at least 3 frees in that incident without one being paid. I thought it was disgusting. The commentators are now confirmed garbage as their comments were not about any free missed but that the violence showed the Pies had come to play. What about the pile drive of his head into the ground by Maynard? MRO will be a nothing to see hear from ex Pie Christian.
  19. Here is my take. Yes we can still win it. While we are not the best team atm, I think our best is enough to win it. We need to find it quickly. What I think we need to get to our best: A good run with injury. Improved goal kicking accuracy. A ruthless and maniacal attack on the ball and player with the ball. Increased and sustained pressure. Selflessness and playing for the team. Increase the 1%’s. Variety in forward 50 entry and kick outs from points. Stop the predictable, unsuccessful this year, long bombs to the forward pocket boundary. Players need to lead into space, or get into space and this needs to be honoured, with the forward entry kicks. Variety also for the kick ins in defence, to allow for fast entry into our forward 50 and set up one on one contests, as Defenders can’t get back quick enough. Small forwards to rove the pack on forward contests, instead of being 20-30 metres away. Kozzie to give up trying to take mark of the year. He hasn’t taken one of these attempts in his career so far. Play two tall key forwards for finals and if weather ok, now. Swap ANB for Bedford/Chandler. Stop the mad handball at all costs policy and especially don’t handball to Max in the forward 50 where he hasn’t got time to react and give it off. Gut running. Use the sub if necessary, to gain an advantage, as every other club but us does. Bring Bowey in, probably for Hibbo, who seems to have lost his edge, even if played forward for some of the game. Need good users of the ball to create opportunities. Tackle to hurt like Maynard. Anyway that’s a good start. We can win this year if we play our best.
  20. We are probably the only side in the AFL that refuses to let players lead and make space in the forward 50. This chaos footy is not winning us games anymore. Considering we can win contested possession, how about using it to our advantage rather than creating more contested possession attempts?

Kick some of the easy missed chances and we win easily.

New rule of the week. It is fine to pile drive a player's head into the ground, then with another player attack him on the ground, by punching or forcing your fists into his face ( see picture in Herald Sun ), and then have the opposition Captain come in and drive his elbow into his face/head, if that player has made public comments about the opposition. Just pathetic and laughed at by the commentators, calling it a sign that the Pies had come to play. Bonus new rule is, the side with the loudest supporters, will be given all the time they need to dispose of the ball when tackled, while other side will be subject to split second opportunity.
  23. Yes we are different, we can never win a close one and struggle to win in Victoria.
  24. .
  25. So were the tackles on Lipinski and Crisp in our goal square in the last and the McCreery one earlier and others all ignored. Even the Pies Commentators called them. We will say nothing as usual. Same as the Dogs game. 15 holding the ball frees to one.
