Agree and his stats aren't too bad for those that love them. Played nearly every game since his second season. Only played 6 games before injury this year, so a light year for his body. I am sure the rationale is to let him do all the heavy lifting and extend Max's career. If you got another 5 years out of both of them, that would be a great result. If we ended up paying him $600k-$650k a year and give up a lowish pick, for an AA ruckman, who prolongs Max's career into the bargain, that is again another great result. Imagine a fesh and fit Max coming into a finals series, he could be a match winner like the 2021 PF. 2. It's not a Court. It's an AFL appointed Board.
  3. WC have pick 2 this year, which they probably wont have in the future.
  4. To succeed he would have to establish that the decision the Tribunal made, was not open to them on the evidence. That is an extremely high bar. Essentially you are asking for a finding that the Tribunal completely stuffed up the case.
  5. That is why I want a key forward from Freo, a ruckman and a high pick, to get another key forward in the draft. That would solve our key forward problems and with possibly Grundy, our ruck ones as well. We can then look to improve the list again, through FA or draft. Would it be a better list without Jacko, but with say Treacy, Meek, Cadman/Jefferson and Grundy? I would think so. Key forwards JVR, Treacy, Cadman/Jefferson with BBB and Tom to mentor for one more year. Max's career extended, by Grundy doing a lot of the heavy lifting.
  6. He now has a stress fracture in his foot. Would need to be very careful. Pies may not be only wanting to salary dump, but crock dump too.
  7. IF we want Grundy I would be offering about $600k per year, with Pies to pay the rest and receive around pick 50. If they don't like it Grundy can say he is staying. Step 1 is to get Grundy onside and to say he will only go to the Dees or stay a Pie. Then we do the negotiating. I would never give the Pies a round one pick for him, nor would I accept two lowly round one picks for Jackson. That would be absolutely ridiculous, for trading a 20 year old potential champion, premiership player and former pick 3.
  8. Rowell continued playing, not hurt.

Yes probably $600k-$700k. I would guess they would be doing it to preserve Max’s body and lengthen his career. They then could get key forwards in the LJ trade, by getting one from Freo, plus a high pick to get another and maybe a Meek as the Insurance or a young rookie ruck. Could solve most problems with the list in one hit.

It will be a salary dump and he will go for a late pick and Pies paying a chunk. He holds the cards. They want his salary out. They do the deal, or he stays for 5 years on full pay. Does sound like we have accepted LJ going.
  11. Noel McMahon, Barassi, Jim Durnan, Cameron Clayton, Byron Pickett, Crackers, Mark Jackson, Stewart Gull, Phil Carman to add a few more.

That was studs up into the face.
  13. I think player was pushed into him, or he was pushed into player.
  14. If we win our 2 and Pies beat Swans you get your wish.
  15. Gerard Whately described it as good entertainment. A bloke being attacked, head driven into the ground, elbows and fists on his face, while on the ground defenceless, against 5 players. Yep great entertainment. Stuff the rules. I think we need some nastiness back in our play. Maynard smashed Langdon and ANB and also belted Max in the back of the head, in a spoil in our forward pocket. No free to Max of course. We need to get nasty and ruthless with our tackles and tackle to hurt. Teams need to know that we mean business. I think we have become nice guys, helping the opposition up off the ground and joking with them during the game. Harden up guys and hit hard and often.
  16. Has been going on all season.
  17. How do you reckon Paddy Ryder will feel, considering he stopped, stood still and a player ran into him and got whiplash? He copped 2 weeks. No concussion, no bump.
  18. Did you think Chandler's legal tackle, until a concussion resulted, deserved his two? Did you think ANB's sling deserved 4 in a 17 week season?
  19. You may only have to wait a few weeks for our chance to dish out some punishment. We win both and Pies beat Swans and it’s on.
  20. I have mentioned it in 3 threads. Do you mean the media, they are agenda based?

ANB has just fainted. MRO reason was head smashing into the ground was not severe enough. Give us a break.

In the Hibberd and Viney goal frees, the ball was immediately knocked from their grasp, just as they grabbed it. McCreary was allowed ages to just keep trying to get rid of the ball, until he dropped it and Sidebottom was swung around 360 twice and both play on. Lipinski and Crisp both dropped the ball, after being held by one arm, in our goals square and play on. There is 6 decisions all going one way to one club no matter what the circumstances. Is it incompetence, or fear of the crowd, just like the Crows deliberate last year, which wasn't paid. I know players make mistakes and umpiring is difficult, but seriously, how does it go one way?

We win our 2 games and Pies beat Swans, then we play Pies at G in a QF. ( Third time lucky? ) That will do me.
  24. Redleg replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Another problem is he made no attempt to touch the ball, just braced for the bump and got him.

That’s what I said. Disgraceful umpiring, but what can you expect with 40000 screaming all game at them.
