  1. These are strange times. We are prepared to let a 27 year old player, with pace, who has played 40 games the last 2 years leave and keep a 33 year old for one last year and a 32 year old likewise, both of whom who are probably cooked. Moving forward, to me it makes no sense at all. If Naughton was gettable, which I think he probably isn't, the LJ deal could be done fairly easily, with picks and players swapping. Unless we have earmarked another key forward, we seem at this point to be looking to get good picks to draft with. Then again who really knows what is going on behind closed doors. I am still a fan of the Bowes deal, if we could convince him to come to us. His salary could be easily managed with those two 30 plus year old players mentioned above, being delisted. Then we get pick 7, which could give us another very good player for many years to come, either by trade or draft. You could get Georgiades for example with 7 and a pick back. You extend Bowes contract and amortise the salary. Bowes is not a bad player with nice disposal. HBF, wing or hff and he is ok. Anyway, that is my opinion fwiw.
  2. If you read the tea leaves, it's sounding like Brad Scott will be the Bombers Coach and probably announced soon. If he says he wants it, the process just flew out the window. IMO, Yze had the job, unless Scott said he would do it.
  3. And rumoured to be offered between $900k-$1m a year for 6-7 years. Yep, why would you expect to get much for a player that another club obviously thinks isn't that good?
  4. You forgot Number 1 pick Ashcroft as well.
  5. Good to see a team that beat us in the finals adding Dunkley, Gunston and Ashcroft, while we lose LJ and replace him with Grundy.
  6. Have we got Grundy yet? I heard his favourite drink is a banana smoothie.
  7. Maybe not. It might mean the Naughton deal was never a chance.
  8. He is a great runner.
  9. Considering the number of players they have leaving and their need for high picks to satisfy us, it makes a lot of sense. As Grazman said, first they have to convince Bowes to play for them.
  10. That does alter things.
  11. Well if that’s true it does alter things.
  12. No Tomo goes to Dogs. In other words salary is swapped and we get younger player and 7. I don’t think this deal was done months ago, as he is contracted and Suns just came up with the idea, but yes, you have to convince Bowes to come to you. Well someone is going to.
  13. You think Bowes is a list clogger? Let me suggest this: we let Hibbo at 33 in probably his last year go and replace him with Bowes at 24, plus one of the 7 best young players in the country. Bowes is younger, taller and a better user of the ball than Hibbo. If it meant having Bowes for one more year than Hibbo, to have pick 7, who could be a 12 year player for us, would you say no? If Baker, Tomlinson and maybe even Melk went, you would be a mile ahead on salary cap room and have a player who is ahead of all of them and a possible, young, future good player as a bonus, from the draft.
  14. Thanks AF.
  15. Ralphy tonight on OTC said Bowes was on about $550k for last 2 years of his contract. Riewoldt asked if pick 7 was part of the deal and Ralphy said yes. He then said the Saints were not interested and Reiwoldt was furious. If the deal is basically Bowes with pick 7 , to take over his contract and maybe a late pick back, I will also be furious. How else, if we are not near the bottom and don't want to trade a star Dee, will we get a pick 7? It is basically trading 29 year old Tomlinson for 24 year old Bowes and pick 7. Anyone on here against that?
  16. This will be sorted and De Goey will stay. Bit of posturing from both sides. It's all about if the Pies could sack him/not pay him, over a very minor matter.
  17. Where is that Insta photo of Clarry and Liam Henry anyone?
  18. Poster said to the Dogs.
  19. We don’t need any draft picks this year, as the experts have picked which players would suit which clubs and we appear to be the only club that wouldn’t be suited by any of the players. Therefore we will make no selections on draft night.
  20. Well I look forward to the next “fact” in this thread of 231 pages to date, as so far it could be argued, that the only fact posted, is that “LJ is leaving.”
  21. Though not a KPF, it’s interesting to note, that Sam DeKoning only played one game in his first two years at the Cats.
  22. I won’t be thinking that for one second.
  23. Could we also match BBB with either Hawkins or Cameron. How does that compare?
