  1. He doesn't need to, he is happy with his contract. He won't look to break his contract. He will be offered to us.
  2. I can see him do his Natural Born Boogie now.
  3. If we have Grundy and Gawn then he could fill 3rd ruck role until we get another young ruckman.
  4. I got the Weid bit right. He was great in the ruck.
  5. Correct. Run in and grab his jumper and pull him back, you don’t make contact when guy is bending down over the ball. Also could have run in and had an easier shot on goal a few minutes earlier. Anyway it’s very difficult conditions.
  6. The marshmallow man strikes again. Sydney assistant coach Don Pyke won’t pursue the Essendon coaching job.
  7. I wouldn’t be that confident as Sharks are a good side full of ex afl players. Weid has been very good as a fill in ruck and around the ground.
  8. Well the day of the big dance has arrived.
  9. Chandler could be the next one.
  10. That’s not the issue, it was a discussion about what our salary cap is and realistically no fan knows what the true figures are. If we made a late play for Cerra, then unless we are absolute liars or fools, we had room to pay him what we were offering. That was my point.
  11. We are talking about salary cap room and we were right into him. We therefore had room. Your assertion we don’t have room for an A grade player is another wild guess. You haven’t got a clue whether we have or not, so stop acting like you really know our salary cap details. Unless you are Tim Lamb or work with him, you have no better idea than the rest of us.
  12. How do you know we can’t afford an A grade player? What is the amount of money left in our salary cap next year? It was widely reported that Cerra nominated us to his manager, but was advised we couldn’t better or equal Carlton’s pick 5 and he went to them instead. I didn’t make it up. Cerra would be a Demon if we had pick 5 last year, or he had waited a year. We were right into him, so clearly could afford him.
  13. Apparently the Suns are going to clear players proactively, to reduce the size of their larger list. This will also help to protect their stars from future raids, by having more salary cap space, to pay them better. Who do we want from the Suns, if anyone?
  14. He will be cleared to the club of his choice by the end of trade week.
  15. The marshmallow man is pulling the strings.
  16. We have Tom with 2 years to go at probably more and he has just re injured his foot after also being out for most of the season and BBB with 2 years left, also at good money, with a degenerating knee. This stuff happens on player lists all the time.
  17. Maybe we should ask Clarry, Tracc, Viney, etc in the middle and maybe Kozzie and Spargo in the forward 50, if they would be happy with Grundy rucking for them.
  18. I think with respect you are factually wrong in a lot of this post. We had Cerra, but couldn't do a trade better than Carlton's pick 5. So obviously we could fit him into the our cap at the time. We were offering Jacko a pretty good contract as reported, but he wants to go home. He is not leaving just for money. If he was, we would have probably retired Melk and Hibbo which would have left an extra amount in the pot. A poster on here said he had personal reasons as well and I accept that is probably true. We know he loved the players and the club. All clubs have name players on varying amounts of money and we are not alone in that regard. Why are we bringing in Grundy, maybe Gunston and are chasing another key forward, as well as keeping Hibbo and Melk, if we have no salary cap room then?
  19. Why must it? Every side has their better players who are on good contracts. There are so many variables and actual amounts we know nothing about. That's why I never refer to salary cap space, because I wouldn't have a clue what our numbers are from year to year, but I know that Tim Lamb would.
  20. Seriously, people declaring what our cap space is, is ridiculous , when they haven’t got a clue as to the actual figures.
  21. Can he coach?
  22. The same way Tigers will fit Taranto and Hopper and others in. We won’t get McKay, so that won’t be a problem anyway. Would love Tom DeKoning and could then bypass Grundy, but that seems a done deal. I am sure we are looking at another key forward besides Gunston.
  23. .
  24. Getting Grundy clearly doesn’t mean we aren’t chasing key forwards as well.
  25. Shorter.
