Lachie Hunter Loses Bid To Overturn 1 Week Suspension
And who decides what is a sufficient attempt at winning the footy. What percentage would be required to make it not a suspension. What a joke this has all become. When every ex player says, with injury prevention at the forefront of their opinion, that Hunter did this perfectly to avoid injury as players have been taught, then why is one bloke, inconsistently, doing this job of penalising players.

You should not be made to feel scared at a sporting event or anywhere else for that matter. If Ryan was physically attacked that is assault and he should report it to the Police, the AFL and Ground Management and Port Power. Threatening you and others and putting you in fear of your safety is also an assault and you should be doing likewise. Ringing and emailing news outlets and radio should also be considered. We don’t need our sport’s enjoyment being damaged by drunken thugs. Sorry you had that experience, but from what I have heard and seen, the time I went to watch us play in Adelaide, it’s not new or an isolated incident. No wonder inexperienced umpires are too scared to umpire properly in Adelaide.

I amended my post as on further examination, Rozee actually touches ball just before Hunter, but Hunter seeing that stops and turns, to make any contact lighter, with his bum rather than hip, a more fleshy cushion. Rozee follows through and actually raises his arms and grabs at Hunter and contact is to the chest.

You can see the spin at work. Tim Michell reports in todays Herald Sun, that Langdon got him in the head, with a hip and shoulder. Go back and see the twitter in this thread and my photo a few posts back and you can see contact is with bum to chest. No shoulder and no head. Hunter actually gets to the ball about same time , stops and turns as Rozee comes in down low. As the ex players have said, he did it perfectly, to protect Rozee who comes in low and second and what else could he do after he stopped moving. The whole problem is MRO is picking and choosing who to penalise and worse incidents are being ignored. Maybe we challenge, just to get Tribunal to tell us what he did wrong in the above scenario. If you are going for the ball and stop and player coming in contacts you, what should you have done. Also importantly it is not the head and no injury.

Just put this picture up. Hits him at best with his bum in the chest and Rozee actually grabs Hunter as contact takes place. How is that high contact?

The problem seems to be when the penalty is called. It can be really badly manipulated, as we saw today. Today a free to North was then overturned to pay the interchange penalty. Is that in the rules, I would think not. Waiting until the ball is forward of centre guarantees a goal.- Welcome to Demonland Kynan Brown

No head contact or injury, so wonder how you could get to medium or high impact, but I suspect the inconsistent one will.- POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti

No contact to the head. Stopped and was reaching for the ball. Appeared to brace and didn’t use elbow, forearm or shoulder. No injury. Rozee played on without any treatment and kicked the winning goal in fact. All commentators during and after game said it would be looked at, but should be ok, as he did everything right to protect Rozee as players are being taught. Verdict, life imprisonment.- POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti

There is nothing wrong with backing your system and players, but when it’s not working, there is a lot wrong with not adapting or changing what is happening. It would not be stupid to suggest, given the 4 point margin, that putting a hard tag on Butters for the second half would have won us the game, despite everything else.- POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti
It was also their job to pay other blatant frees too, not just umpire for the crowd. How could a forearm to Max’s face in a marking attempt not be paid, or the hit to his head on the wing, or the hit to Tracc’s head, or Tom Mac being grabbed around the face by Jonas and then copping holding the ball, or the 15 metre throw in towards Port’s goal and straight to a Port player not be recalled, just as a few examples of disgraceful one sided umpiring. It happened to the Bombers and Pies there as well recently with the only difference being their coaches mentioned it. That said Port deserved to win. I thought with the rain we were a bit top heavy as well.- POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Yartapuulti
