Exit interviews 2023
For those who think contracts mean you can’t get delisted, James Stewart, Lachie O’Brien and Jake Pasini have all been delisted, with a year to go on their contracts. Yes they will be paid out in full, but are gone from their club. What’s worse in Stewart’s case at the Bombers, is that he lost his father Craig Stewart this year, in very sad circumstances. Bombers showing their true culture and I hope his team mates are furious and that the Bombers bomb again. Wonder if Michael Warner or Robbo will question the Bombers’ culture. Not holding my breath.

Trading pick 6

Harrison Petty
So Jon Ralph knows for certain, according to his article, that we held Petty “against his will” and “ he is desperate to go home to Adelaide”. Well I think if that was true, Petty would have made more of a song and dance of it, causing us to give it greater attention and secondly Adelaide us not his home, though a bit closer to it. IMO, if Petty was truly desperate to go, we would have explored the options. Therefore, in summary, I disagree with the article. We will obviously try and extend Petty’s contract and that will be interesting, to see if it happens.

The Pick 1 Thread
Always is. It appears the Roos won’t give up 2 & 3 for 1 and may have privately moved on and will use their multiple first round picks to help their rebuild. Hawks haven’t got enough to do the deal. We are an option for WC, but it all depends on Curtin getting to 6. This deal is looking unlikely. I am now wondering if WC blinks and tells the Roos they will take 2 and a few later first rounders, just to try and maximise 1 and help their rebuild, which is well behind the Roos’. I think WC needs more for 1 than one Victorian likely star, but with a highly possible go home factor. I am not convinced that is the maximum for the pick and WC needs the maximum.

I am all for the expanded window and if we happened to take Curtin, who knows what the future could look like, if Reid and Curtin both wanted to return home.

What are you, an Abba fan. One “money” would have sealed the deal.

The No T$ No B$ Thread
Yes praise be to Demonland. We are back bigger than ever and we are all invited to BBO’s manor, to watch the draft and see if we trade up, or take two future champions and another good player in Brown. I didn’t want to put too much pressure on Kynan. See how I put some footy discussion into my post. I think we all need to do that here and there, to remain on the footy thread. WJ and I were discussing today whether we use a rookie spot on a mature ruckman for a year or so, any thoughts? PS: can’t wait to celebrate with a banana daiquiri.

Thank you Demonland
Yes thank you Demonland and please restore the NO T$ thread to the footy board.

AFL is rigged.
Bring back the No T$ No BS thread and the AFL is losing its little credibility that it has retained.

The No T$ No B$ Thread
I think we all need to post on every thread in the Football and Trade threads demanding this great thread be restored to the football thread, it’s rightful home. Post some footy content every time too, like this for example, I think Tracc should play forward for parts of the game. Clearly it is therefore a footy thread not a general one.

And Perovic tonight.

James Leake
I think JT has done a great job so far, as we haven’t a clue who we are taking, or even what picks we might end up with.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Well unless Brody lied in his interview yesterday, that is what he said. I am not a polygraph machine.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Yes agreed and poor kicking. A few things we have to fix.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
He wanted to play finals with us, yet we selected a bloke we wouldn’t even bring on for a few minutes. Clearly a FD decision. You could easily argue that cost us a PF.

Training Ground?
You think he acted alone without the Board. It was 90% actually, $2.7m of $3m, still the biggest single donation ever given to the club. What revenue streams back then, would have got us the $30m approx he left us, for Bentleigh and Oakleigh, plus his $2.7m. What have the last few Boards added to what he left us? He may not have been the President I personally wanted, but his contribution to the MFC was huge, in addition to helping save the club from a merger, which would have seen a different club today.
