  1. It’s a certainty. Players will have mystery injuries and illnesses during the week. Still need Hawks to beat Dockers, but Lewis and Newcombe could return.

That will not happen now, as AFL have got out of it, as Roos get best player in the country to add to what they already have. Also they need WC to have 2.
  3. The reason for splitting picks was probably only for Reid. They want Curtin and will take him at 2, as what could they split 2 for and still get him.
  4. Agree. Laurie was ok and you are correct, he is fighting for the Spargo spot. Think he may still leave.
  5. Yes but they still have Curtin. North could have called their bluff and said take Reid and we take Curtin. Then swap them 2 years later anyway. Both clubs now get their first choice player.
  6. Roos losing in the Reid cup is an absolute certainty.

But they will get the boy they want. Daniel Curtin is an Eagle.

Brayden George still to come with LDU, Simpkin, Thomas and Larkey up front. Building a very good side. I can see a few injuries before their game this week.
  9. It’s impossible to enjoy watching Melbourne games. Never put sides away early and result always in doubt. Btw my constant issue, we are going at 50% kicking efficiency to 87%. Why is that?
  10. Absolutely and I won’t mention that boundary umpire. Every time we get tackled, it’s holding the ball and we can’t get one as usual.
  11. I don’t think Jaded meant to knock people’s individual circumstances, she was just making a rallying cry. Don’t take it personally, she is as fanatical as you, if not more so. She would agree you don’t have to attend to be a great supporter.
  12. Rhys Mathieson is a repulsive footballer, who just complains and whinges all game.
  13. Same old poor disposal costing them this game which they had controlled.
  14. Thought Tom is our most likely key forward replacement atm. Kicked 2 goals and contesting. Jefferson continues to improve, picking up kicks around the ground. He is a nice mark and lovely kick for goal, as demonstrated by his his beautiful shot today from about 45 out. Daniel Turner is so dependable in the backline. Will be stunned if he isn’t a regular in the seniors soon. I still like Deakyn Smith and would persevere with him. Woey going ok too.

But he said he had no doubt and field umpires obviously didn’t know, being much further away. If everyone is upset, then change the process.

But the goal umpire had no doubt.
  17. Yes he possibly goes to the Feehan next.

That’s disgraceful. It’s no worse a decision than last week’s soft call. Why wasn’t he stood down? Scapegoats for incompetence in administration of the game, by hugely paid know it alls, who stuff up most things.

3 umpires were on the spot when Cameron got that handball over the boundary line and all just watched. Mistakes happen. Players make them all the time. My 6 year old grandson wouldn’t miss from 10 metres out straight in front, but professional footballers do.

Actually a mistake that us sitting at home watching replays can pick up. Now let’s put ourselves in that goal umpire’s position. One minute to go, deafening noise as the ball approaches the goals, 2-3 desperate Swans players jumping for the ball, obscuring his view of the ball, while he must keep back out of their way. All this happening quickly. He hears a sound of post being hit, it was a Swans player’s hand, that he wouldn’t see, then sees the ball spinning as though it hit the post. Another Swan yelling at him and pointing to the post and he makes a very innocent mistake. This is certainly not the first such mistake made by an official. Look at that ridiculous penalty to Sweden against the Matildas. Even with replays VAR. Last week’s soft call was another mistake which has cost us probably 2nd place. It’s up to the AFL to improve officiating wherever possible. They haven’t even got a GM of Footy yet nearly 2 years after Scott left and Gil is still hanging around like a bad smell, even though his successor has been appointed.

But they did follow procedure. Goal Umpire was certain it touched post and therefore he didn’t request review. That is the current procedure. It’s a mistake, not a breach of procedure.
  22. What does the dog think?

I think we need to add some pace to our side like Bobby Hill or Toby Bedford. Oh! Maybe Liam Henry could be an option, though he plays slightly differently.
  24. Laurie has been playing well for Casey, but I am surprised we picked him for this game. Maybe we want to give him a chance to see if he stays or goes, maybe we wanted someone with good foot skills, or maybe we just wanted something a bit different, to see if it gives us a spark. In other words I haven’t got a clue.
  25. So we want the Hawks to put in a shocker this week and then have their best win of the year next week. Pretty simple.
