  1. Yes assessing force is ok. 1 week for the kick and then add weeks for the degree of force, but to fine for a deliberate kick is pathetic. We used to suspend for attempted striking, no force of impact if you miss, but it was an illegal act. PS: Travis Boak said it was a bad look and struggled to defend the Tribunal decision. He said if it happened to a team mate he would be furious. Congrats on the 350 games Trav you are a great AFL player.
  2. It wasn’t zero force, it was a light kick, but it was a deliberate kick to an opponent’s leg. That is not footy. I can kick a footy 1 metre or 40 metres and both are kicks. You don’t kick people in footy and you don’t send a good message by condoning it. Interestingly nearly all ex players in the media said it was a suspension.
  3. I don’t want my team kicking opponents deliberately.
  4. Most of the ex players in the media agree. To them kicking is a suspension, end of story. It was a kick not a tap. Just pathetic really. Now kids will think it’s ok to kick another player, as long as it’s not too hard a kick.
  5. Yep, understand your point. A deliberate kick, as opposed to a tap, should not be condoned by lack of severity. It’s always been a no no, like spitting, biting and king hitting.
  6. I think the Lions and Pies may be a bit shell shocked and hopefully that hurts their confidence and creates doubt in their game. Lions should never have lost to an undermanned and then injury hit Dockers. Pies would have lost by a lot more, with normal goal kicking accuracy by Swans and some very soft frees to the Pies for goals.
  7. With their current scenarios, neither Petty of BBB should play 2 games in 5 days. We may be a bit lucky having BBB this year, if he can play semi regularly. Tom Mac could also prove to be handy as the year unfolds.
  8. I don't. Not only did he upend a guy, which we know can be dangerous, but when the guy hit the ground, he actually kicked him, not heavily, but nevertheless a kick. That is a big no no. That is not getting off. 1 week is pretty good I would have thought. PS: Just re watched it several times. It's not a tap, its a kick and he deserves 1 week for that at least.
  9. Fix that and we win. Just lead and create space and stop bombing.
  10. Is Nick Daicos going to be fined for staging, it was blatant? No of course, not the golden boy.
  11. Happy for JJ, I thought he was a bit hard done by with us.
  12. Pendles making lots of mistakes and slow. Sidebottom too and Crisp doesn’t look the same.
  13. Mansell, played on from a mark 2 metres out and missed. Moronic bit of play.
  14. Not sure why Tomlinson is always the fall guy. Clearly not one of Goody’s favourites.
  15. Yep. Get the umpires to give you everything, have your opponent down 3 players for most of the game, off a 5 day break and have an opposition player play on from a set shot 2 metres out and miss. That’s the way to win.
  16. Why, they have been consistent, all frees to Carlton. Absolutely pathetic umpiring.
  17. Well he could have gone into the ruck and beaten Grundy. He could have gone down the other end and flattened the Lizard. He could have gone into the middle and run with Heeney. He could also have told Max to jump early with knees up to stop Grundy wrestling. He could also have organized the oranges for 3/4 time. You see there is a lot more he could have done. Seriously though, he is really stiff, as I thought he was one of our better players and would end up on Lobb this week.
  18. How does Eddie’s cheering In a restaurant for Maynard getting off look now?
  19. Even the announcement from the MFC in op says “”will be medically retired effective immediately “ not, “on Doctors advice Gus has decided to retire.” I have seen it in a few places, the decision was made by others.

She is only 33. Dillon is 52. If he stays 10 years, she will be 43, perfect age for CEO.
  21. I think this bloke could be a bust, if given a long term big money guaranteed contract. I wouldn't mortgage the club for him.

She actually did take action, she overruled the MRO and forced it to the Tribunal. If Christian had his way, there would have been no Tribunal hearing, as he saw "nothing in it".
  23. Redleg replied to Redleg's topic in Melbourne Demons
Would you have preferred she overruled the Tribunal? She said at the time the AFL were unhappy about it and has since made that action illegal.

    No, just an observation.
  25. Laura Kane will succeed Andrew Dillon, take it to the bank. She is so impressive.
