    I don't think that Demetriou will ever 'kill' clubs off - hence the funds that are available to struggling clubs. He is well aware of the cultural and spiritual loss that happened with the demise of Fitzroy. Having said that, I think he's happy for some club/s to relocate.

    Plenty of players have decent guns but can't get the footy........needs to stand up.

    I don't know if anyone else watched the Dees v Lions match on Sat arvo (RD 3, 2011) but I watched Dunn playing footy and sometimes he's okay. On the downside, he gave away 3 free kicks in the 1st quarter from poor tackles. He wasted the inside 50 stat. Is he coachable?

    No problem DL7 - we're talking footy and it's all good. I soorrttaa started the NitNat thing by bringing elephants into the discussion, but I really, really want Jack to do well, but as Cowboy said, it would have been nice to have him as our focal, rather than Stef.....

    Who's written him off? I'm just saying that (in extremely) difficult conditions, that I acknowledge, I wanted him to do more......methinks you jumpeth the gun.

    NB, of course, you have a valid point. But, I believe that EVERY Dees supporter wants this player to grab a game by the throat and assert his obvious talent. Everyone talks about consistency....I want presence! Real hard gut wrenching running, big tackle, big mark more often. The boy can do it, we've seen it.

    I don't think conditions suited any footballer last night, but others asserted themselves more than others. Supporters are still waiting for #1 to perform as this is his 4th or 5th year in the system? Don't make me address the elephant in the room by mentioning some huge ruckman that plays out west.....that's right........

    Will never have 'that' presence.....not a Carey or a Voss or a Neitz. I just really, really want him to crash a pack or lay a big tackle.

    30 - 40? Don't think so....I'm not a fan, but I think he'll be the back up ruckman and his only brief will be to jump as high and hard as he can to allow our midfield a fair chance at the ball.

    I'm with you but I want to be buoyed by promising form going into the real stuff....I want to go to a night final......I want to queue for tickets....I want us to be all over the papers.....I want, I want!!!

    I can't believe how quickly preseason form is dismissed by some posters - the last several years our practice matches has almost laid a foundation for our season. Last year, we got done by the Lions in a practice match and we all know what followed....the boys need to hit the ground running and go nice and hard from the get go.

    Setanta who? Talking about Scully? What do people expect him to say? Scully's name blisters my tongue and he's played ONE good game. Setanta is remembered for decking Cameron Cloke.....seriously, can they be taken seriously? Seriously? Maintain the rage!

    I'll be disappointed if they don't finish in the top 8 - I want to sniff finals, new grass, spring, queueing for tickets, reading about how MY team is training.....

    Not sure of the results, but the winners have all gone on and had fairly good seasons....histrorically, our practice matches have been real barometers.

    FWIW, WYL I enjoy your posts and banter with RR - it makes interesting reading. WYL, I love your passion....I agree, the pre-season cup is important to show some form and I will be forever cheering you on when you let Scully have it. I'm with you!!!
