  1. Every time I say 'that' name, my tongue blisters...shut up, you might say, that's fair. Let's develop our youngsters AND culture under Neeld - as Master Demon said, the Coach could be hanging on to a few picks to 'feel' the place for a year or two.
  2. Trade week is a massive huff 'n' puff where supporters become critical of their clubs who can't do this deal or can't do that deal..... It's a highly competitive comp and NO club is going to give ANY club a leg-up towards a premiership window. The few bottom six change colours and the successful club does some chest beating, ala Hawthorn. Big deal...give me the draft any day.
  3. A Murdoch minion - that ship is sinking damn fast.
  4. Not for me - natural forward. Lovely mark, steady kick and really knows how to create space. Leave the backline to Chippa, Col, Tappy, Riv, etc
  5. Heffernan? Ellis? Read? Turley? Powell? Not great, were they?
  6. Belgrave has a Safeway?
  7. Lovely if it happens, but......there is no way in the world the Saints would ever do this deal.
  8. Oh, please,nooooo!!
  9. I hate all these comparisons - the 'new Chris Judd, blah blah' Very annoying journalism.
  10. Hardness instilled into a playing group? Not sure about that. The intrinsic desire to compete and seek out the contest can't always be coached. Tapscott loves the contest.
  11. Speaking of Strauss, does anyone see him playing in 2012? The break was quite severe....
  12. Glass took 4-5 years to really develop. I'm talking about the hardness factor - something a few of the players need.
  13. True, but his insatiable desire for the contest will always hold him in good stead. He can work on his running capacity and agility, but his kicking skills, especially, are elite.
  14. You're right, you've got to trade something good to get something good. Tapscott is a great kick and will become an elite hard defender in the mould of Glass. I hope the FD never consider this trade. Having said that, didn't 5AA start a campaign (Ricutto?) to get Jamar to Adelaide, back in July?
  15. We don't really have a tall forward - are you hinting at Jamar for sale?
  16. That would never happen - Cale has too many limitations atm.
  17. I love the tone and optimism of this post, but do you think it'll really happen? Is Dangerfield that besotted with Craig? Won't he hang around to see how the new coach works out? Pick 12 + Warnock??
  18. Too risky - one of those 'could-have-been-anything' scenarios, ala Paul Prymke / Warren Dean
  19. Yes....but. There was a fairly seductive draft pick a couple of years ago who espoused strong family values, one - club player, blah, blah blah. Methinks there was forked tongue there....
  20. Why is it big news? Peter Sumich is going from one supporting role to another.....what are the ramifications?
  21. Rhino by a long way - even better now that he's changed his avatar!
  22. You and I both know that there were several worthwhile suitors - the Club got it wrong with Bailey as a strategist, but got it right as a media performer and a good citizen.
  23. You're being a bit sentimental about referring to 'that' coaching job in 2008....coaching an AFL is a fairly prestigious gig.
  24. WYL, I understand where you're coming from, but at the end of the day, coaches are judged on their win/loss ratio. There were so 'little' things he could have got right, but he was too unaware.
