  1. No, not at all, but at the time, we thought (hoped) we had a real tilt. In deed that's my point, with maybe 1 win this year, then 2 next year, when do you realise again that this lots is not going to make it, or go close. 20/20 hindsight is real handy. No team, no body has had such a pathetic start to a footy season in my (long) memory. I repeat, nobody. I repeat, nobody! But that's OK, lets trust Bails! FFS
  2. [censored]. Judd maybe.
  3. [censored]. Supporters want a highly competitive team, that has a chance at a premiership. Be it AFL or bush footy. Week-in week-out. I bet you buy lotto tickets too, expecting to win. Good grief.
  4. And what would that be, pray tell?
  5. These are not the only choices: manipulate what you have for (maybe )early success, or build from the ground up, ground zero. There is also, look at what you have, look at what you want in say 4 years, and get there in increments, with maybe some success. This takes talent and skill (from the coaches). I don't believe supporters want a premiership, or nothing. What they want (me certainly) is a team that is very competitive, with identifiable claims on a premiership. In particular, I think the ground zero idea is absurd. Even if you could, turning over half your list each year (with a less than 30% success rate) is just a recipe for disaster.
  6. For heavens sake, if MFC was a company in the normal sense, the receivers would be called in now, and Bailey would have to start explaining to the shareholders/bankers - members & supporters. FHS, this club is being gutted, and the people in charge (Bailey and other coaches) are saying "trust me". And nothing else!! FFS
  7. Bu****it. If you have a group of plumbers, you can't take on a job for sparkies. You must deal with what you have. Plan, manipulate, connive, whatever, but you can't say "I want red, stiff [censored] if you're green". And be accountable. FFS, will some one in this club stand up and say "I am accountable, the buck stops with me"???? FFS
  8. Outstanding post!
  9. That's about it. Bailey has removed any sense of understanding the players have, and replaced it with nothing (that's understandable).
  10. 60+ draft pick as I remember. Well said Hannabal
  11. Moloney and Silvia both recorded 3 tackles. Moloney had 3 contested possessions, Silvia 2.
  12. For everyone's info, here is today's stats: The stats I have focussed on are T tackles, CP contested possessions, Clg clangers, CM contested marks, CL centre clearances, 1% 1 percenters, GA goal assists We had more possessions, less marks (but more contested marks), more contested possessions, same clangers, less centre clearances.
  13. Whatever any coach or player says now, including Bailey, I want him to say "I, we are accountable. The buck stops here."
  14. And we kicked the 1st 3 against Geelong didn't we. Just got excited - should have known better.
  15. Yep No. Judd was always going to C. He will be getting megga $'s in side deals courtesy of wealthy C supporters WHO WILL COUGH UP THE $'S Maybe/maybe not According to what some people are saying. What I've seen; you'd be guessing at the game plan. Possibly, but I doubt it as the club can't afford it, and the AFL won't let them Probably. but if they are no longer the Melbourne Demons in Red and Blue, I'll be moving on Yep Absolutely No. I think one will fold. don't know Yep Silly statement, showing your prejudices . Yep, sadly Yep, was several years ago Probably, sadly Unless some doyen of industry puts up some big $'s al la Parry etc at C. By all measures, Carlton should have folded several years ago. But, see 2 & 3 above.
  16. Probably because we were a lot less predictable. But I like Green at FF for most, but not all the time.
  17. Final best 5 contested possession stats: Judd 14, Wonaeamirri 12, Green 10, McLean 9, Davey 8 We also had more possessions that C, and 1 more tackle And we won the frees 20/18
  18. In 3 quarters, Robbo has had 14 touches, 6 marks for his 1.1 Yze hasn't had this much of the ball for a cupla years. Dump Robbo by all means. But Yze? Your kidding.
  19. Web - AFL Game day Live - part of afl.com.au
  20. Top 5 contested possessions: Judd 13, Green 8, McLean 8, Wonaeamirri 8, Robbo 7 yep trying
  21. 6 goals down - half time. 7 unanswered goals to C. It's as if they got in front and stopped. Kid's stuff really, junior footy. Robbo 1.1 and 2 out on the full  Stupid, meaningless. All over red-rover. I have given up on miracles.
  22. 4 goals behind now, and at least 3 free kicks have given up freebie goals to C
  23. 2 goals behind now. Stats are very even, and M tackle count is higher than Carlton's, so the players are trying hard.
  24. Can't tell you much, but the MFC is in front for the first time this year, I do believe. Whoopps. Momentarily. But on even terms 4.4 each
