  1. A lot depends on Cripps. Shades of Trengove - lost mobility. Against MFC this year, couldn't or wouldn't kick. Other than Walsh, nothing else in the mids. They have a good spine, but Jones is overrated as a defender (interceptor only). In passing, Coniglio seems to have the Trengove effect as well.
  2. "Carlton" and "selfless" don't belong in the same sentence.

Not sure Buckenara was much loved by teammates at Hawthorn. I remember David Parkin snorting with contempt when his name came up in an interview some years ago. Recruiting Guru? No. [censored]? Yes.
  5. Agree. But they were expecting Gawn who they can predict. Jackson competed really well and hunted the ball, like Patracca, Oliver and Viney. Doggies were criticised for not positioning defensively at the bounce (they were, Libba and Bontempeli for the last 2; both sucked into the contest). Interestingly, Treloar was at all the bounces. Would've tried Dunkley. I reckon the arrival of Treloar messed with their midfield.
  6. Reckon its more than a month if the alleged dodgy NT drivers licences is true. Conspiracy. 6 months and $10k?

Not best 23 at MFC any more. Probably not anywhere else.

Not so sure about Carlton rebounding. I don't think their list is at all balanced or as good as they or others think. They have a good spine, but apart from Walsh, no mid-field to speak of; I think Cripps is cooked. Saad, Williams and Martin are not, and won't be, A graders.

The filth also need draft points for Daicos, and still need to move on at least one player because of salary cap. Maynard on the cheap? 🤞🤞

Hell I hope it gets done. Maynard would be a perfect addition to back line and team.

For Maynard, it'll be now or never I reckon. I believe Hibberd has signed a new 1yr contract.

Wonder of there's any legs in the Maynard rumour of a little while ago?

Sydney wanted him a couple of years ago. He turned down an offer from them.
  14. That would be Bevo. Bontempelli 1 vote I can understand, but Daniel 3rd best on ground? 🤦‍♀️
  15. Could have been a 4th. Petracca was out the front of the restart/ball up. Bontempelli "just" made the tackle.
  16. Bontempelli hit on Oliver and Daniel tackle on Gawn: both reportable for mine. Bontempelli - 1 week; Daniel a fine at least. MRO: nothing to see here - laughable.
  17. 6 - Petracca 5 - Oliver 4 - Salem 3 - Fritsch 2 - Brayshaw 1 - Jackson
  18. Agree. Calm and focussed. And if we don't get the job done this weekend, we are in the window for 4+ years.
  19. And Lyon was one of the group to select Mark Neeld as coach. FFS.

Disagree with some of this. I think Smith runs hard all day. Against Port, he ran past 3 Port players on the wing to lay a shepherd on one of them for Treloar. Having said that, Port were dreadful, worse than the Cats.

Nice idea. Can't trade 3 first round picks in 3 years. That might stop it? $s shouldn't be a problem as he will be taking less than Freo offered to get to Melbourne and a club in contention.
  22. Taranto played Greene's role to a tee. And Tom Stewart played.
  23. Giants beat Geelong by 3 goals round 21 with 10 of best 22 out. And it was in Geelong. Reckon they're a strong chance.
