You thinking that Green has/will be traded? And Whelan and Moloney are yet to sign new (if any) contracts. You're a touch early.
-
So, just Green, Bell, CJ, Dunn, Whelan and Moloney to resign/delist/trade. Any others? And Carroll to deal with. Maybe offer him Casey 1's or 2's next year, or a negotiated payout (less than his contract). He could announce a dignified retirement then.

Brave, physically imposing, runs hard. BUT, seems to have one speed, poor acceleration, indifferent disposal and just doesn't have impact on the ground. He needs to lose weight/muscle and speed up. I don't think there is room for a Greg Williams type in today's game. I see no upside for him; he's a 20 yr old playing like a 30yr old. Frequently referred to as our most damaging player. Would only be a bit player in a top club. [censored]. Bode is out of his depth, Valenti is a gem, and has shown it. He needs more game time - would/will have bigger impact than Jones or Moloney

Judd has been employed by Vissy as their "Environmental Officer/Ambassador (or whatever)" for $100k's of bucks. And the AFL have signed off on the deal as OK. Go figure.

Quite right. Should have spent 2 months trolling through applications and presentations and 1st and 2nd round interviews, and you could end up with ...........Bailey. Seriously though, the correct/incorrect process is only obvious after some time/years.

Apparently Watts will not be available to play at all in 2009 - will only play school footy. Go figure. Why enter the draft at all; why not wait til 09? On this basis alone, I wouldn't touch him. [censored]!

Just got home from the game. So my turn: Bartram - missed targets, missed tackles Carroll - excellent 1st half; started 2nd half with stupid muscle stuff; beaten 2nd half, but generally lace out delivery to opponent. I'd keep him. Frawley - slow to make decisions, poor kicking, out of his depth Green - a few classy things in back-half Grimes - my, does he look at home; said to be slow, but glides over the ground. The only positive out of making the effort to get to the game. Miller - tried so hard, played angry at times Morton - poor decision making, poor kicking. Gets it a lot, but. Don't see what others do. Petterd - poor skills early; didn't notice him much. Why play him? Warnock - good, solid; started 2nd half with stupid muscle stuff Particular comments: Jones: so hard to assess. Brave, physically imposing, runs hard. BUT, seems to have one speed, poor acceleration, indifferent disposal and just doesn't have impact on the ground. He needs to lose weight/muscle and speed up. I don't think there is room for a Greg Williams type in today's game Sylvia: thought he was our best, he has such good hands. Good disposal today, and chased hard. Went missing a little in 2nd & 3rd quarters. I did want to trade him; not now. Maric - very poor. A taller, quick defender showed him up badly. I was very disappointed in his game. And a general comment: our senior players, Green excepted, had (very) poor games. Finally, Yze, Holland & White. Yze got a bit of it, but had no impact, and couldn't kick a 40m goal on his preferred left foot. Surely no-one will draft him. White got a bit of it, had no impact on game. Poor skills on a number of occasions. Draft him if desperate. Holland. Kicked a goal. Did (ie retired) what Yze and White should have done.

And what if Valenti nominates for PSD or Draft? Can he? There may well be interest in him in later rounds.

McLean, 21*, - contracted til 09 Jones, 20* - contracted til 10 Moloney, 24* - contracted til 08 Grimes, 19* - contracted 09 Valenti, 21* - rookie *age as at 30 Aug, 2008 I would have thought having 5 similar players on the list might be a bit much. General discussion has McLean the best. After that? Lots of different views. Jones was always going to get another contract, but his future may well be decided next year. On reflection, Moloney may be in a spot of trouble re staying on the list; he turns 25 next year - 2 more years would probably reduce his trade value considerably. Has anyone heard anything about contract discussions for him. Any talk? I rate Valenti above Jones & Moloney, so FWIW, I would trade/delist Moloney and elevate Valenti.

Hope they do. Will lose. Trash. FILTH!
-
Depends whether Sylvia is on the table.
-
Reckon we'll see a heap of bald nuts (al la Jones) running around now. Shave the body if necessary!
-
I agree with you about Chapman, but for Bruce? You joke surely. Also, why would Chapman want to come to Melb? He spent 8 yrs at Geelong waiting for the good times; he's too old to see them at Melbourne. <_<
-
TJ, now Kerr. Looking to be a packed mid-field. Ed: On 2nd thoughts, wonder if Lions have another 1st round pick (for Brown) to trade?
-
(Ah, Diamond Jim ..... now there's a story.) No he won't, because he can't kick, can't hit a target. Valenti can, without having Brock/Kerr et al to help.
-
He adds the ability to hit a target (Jones and Moloney can't), and less clangers. When he gets it, he does something with it. Give him more game time, and he will out-gun the others.
-
I, too, rate Valenti higher than Jones, and Moloney. And at 21/22/23 yrs, I have no problem at all. Can't have a whole team aged 19/20.
-
Other than getting the contested ball more than Jones, having less clangers than Jones, and actually being able to kick it to someone (which Jones can't). Valenti is a quiet gun. I'd take him in a heartbeat over Jones.
-
And maybe a few more folks will turn up without the promise of a school boy flogging = more $'s, more interest, more memberships.
-
Yep, oh so true. We are/have 1. broke 2. low membership 3. unprofitable 4. team of boys 5. team that plays like boys 6. unstable administration 7. dead players refusing to retire then Freo: 1. massive $'s 2. massive membership 3. hugely profitable 4. team of men (too old?) 5. play like crap 7. stable admin 8. players lining up to retire Lots more juicy talk about Freo. Nothing worth discussing about us.

The filth - ahhhh ..................... money but no sense.
-
A skilled outside midfielder, with a motor and coming off a very good year? I reckon a few teams would be interested. Better get than TJ. Lions anyone?
-
You make my point. And Wonna has not been well managed. He has had a shocker 4/5 weeks. Taking him to Port served no purpose; should have been given a spell.

And your evidence is?
