What a silly thing to say, 5 min into 2nd half.
-
Nice to know. Why isn't this on the MFC web site? [censored] that it isn't. (After all, he is a listed player, not a rooky.) Attention to detail, please.

Bounce back to where. He's never made it to any height.

Bailey said at interview that Robbo and Whelan would need at least 2 x 100% game time in Casey 1's before being considered. For me: Out: Sylvia, McLean/Jones (or both), Johnson In: Maric, McDonald, Spencer McLean's stats look good, but his kicking is very poor. Ditto Jones- witness the pathetic set shot at goal in 2nd term - a turning point. I doubt Jetta will go - Bailey has mentioned him every week in post match press conferences - he's a favoured one.

Morton had tackled Lade, and both players ended up on the ground with Lade over Morton;, Lade took a cheap shot with a palm/forearm to Morton's head (like a jumper punch). Moreton immediately jumped up to remonstrate and pushed Lade. Lade wanted to go on with it, but meanwhile we had got the ball, and Moreton was running to space, with Lade after him. Didn't look good on the tv, but Moreton did the best he could under the cercumstances; no one came to help him. We need an enforcer or 2.

You can add Newton, McDonald, Jamar and Bell to your list. That makes 11 in all. Half the team.

Three Collingwood fans charged over alleged bashing

What the hell were the crowd doing? Barracking? Pathetic. -
That would be Sylvia you are talking about? Sounds right, except it's 5 years, not 3. Now what role would that be. 1. mid-field - Sylvia doesn't have the tank, the fitness, the skill level 2. utilty - Sylvia doesn't have the tank, the fitness, the skill level 3. hard nut - Sylvia doesn't have the courage, the fitness, the where-with-all; doesn't tackle 4. leader - does not lead by example, no 1%'ers, no team play Oh, and don't forget, Sylvia HAD A FULL PRE-SEASON.

Maybe good to watch, but it was no-touch footy; circle work. We made 2 tackles for the entire quarter (and the filth only made 10 from memory). It wasn't a glimpse of things to come.

In:Valenti, Grimes, Meesen, Maric, Bail Out: McLean, Bennell, Johnson/Spencer, Jetta, Sylvia If Grimes not ready, then Bennell stays

Any reports?

Why? We were in front, sure, but we made 2 tackles! Circle work really, touch footy. No pressure. A bit of pressure comes, and well you know the rest. Gunna be a long year.

MFC: team unchanged. Filth: "COLLINGWOOD'S Dayne Beams will make his AFL debut against Melbourne on Saturday due to the late omission of utility Dale Thomas, who is suffering the flu." No Rocca.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Add Morton to the list.

In - Maric, Martin Out - Jetta, Bennell This is repeating another thread - have a look!!

I don't think anyone doubted Rich was a ready made player. The query is whether he has any upside. Leigh Matthews aside, I can't think of a (recent) player who had his frame and size - short and heavy set, at his age, who went on to be a marquee player (which is what you want out of a sub 10 draft pick). And how successful would Matthews be today? The game is very different.

My understanding is that WBulldogs also missed out on their full 08 sponsor payment, because of financial difficulties. By my reckoning, we are way ahead ($ wise) of them.

From realfooty.com.au: Schwab says Melbourne, which is working to eradicate a big debt, expects to make a profit this season. Heavens, what a turn around.
-
Col think? That's a new idea.

Most of this thread is about substituting Spencer for Jamar. I don't think it's as simple as that. Presuming Meeson is not up to it (despite Bailey talking him up this week). It's about Jamar, Johnson and Spencer. I don't dismiss Jamar as quickly as some; it was he who jumped into Sandilands all the afternoon of the "great comeback" last year (and had a great impact on the final result). We have no-one else who could do that. Johnson is a great athlete, a mobile ruck/forward who is big but plays well small; he is not a first pick ruck IMO. Spencer has shown a fair bit this year so far. I think there is room for all 3. Spencer might just have to bide his time for a few months; so be it. Mono

Colin Sylvia- Complaints, Congratulations and Comments
Mono replied to Don24's topic in Melbourne Demons
It was a practice game! It was a practice game! It was a practice game! Nonsense. He had a decent second half last year, but with dramatic errors, eg up-and-under late in the game against the bombers, that gave lloyd an easy sit and gaol. He is reported to have had a good pre-season (sic), so he has his best chance. My view has nothing to do with his draft pick; it is to do with him being at the club for 5 years, and bugger all to show for it. -
There have long been rumours about Pavlich, and land development deals (like the tiges?) Same scenario, different means, alleged of course.
