Loved his rookie year, coming from obscurity and playing a significant role for the team, became a fave of mine. Sadly, VDB is a liability currently and must be dropped in my opinion. Watched him closely at the ground yesterday, he is either injured or extremely unfit. He looked lame at times yesterday.

Vandenberg would be my first out. Looks totally out of form and fitness, 12 ordinary disposals and 1 tackle does not cut it and he has been ordinary for weeks...plenty of others could join him though

I sat amongst Saints diehards today, barely a Demon anywhere nearby. Believe me, they think we are the softest team going round and they never thought at any stage we would win this game. First qtr was great, but we were destroyed for the rest of the match and the scoreboard flattered us in my opinion. Our forward line seemed very dysfunctional and we could not handle their impressive pressure around the ball, thus the huge amount of handballs to teammates under the hammer. I thought Viney`s unbelievable mark and goal late in the 3rd would lift his team mates but hardly anyone gave a sniff. Very disappointing day after such a promising start, so similar to our first meeting this year. The day was topped off with an absolute shytefight trying to get a train outta the pit of a place, happens every time!

Northey took us from a laughing stock to our first finals appearance in 23 years in which we not only beat 2 highly fancied opponents in Syd and NM (still a record elimination GWM) but came within a whisker of one of the more unlikely GF berths of all time. Nobody has come close, let's hope Goodwin can eclipse him!

We are ranked 2nd in disposals, 2nd in contested possesions, 2nd in clearances overall in the comp which bodes very well. When we get the frustrating turnovers (ranked 16th!!) out of our game we will be a top 8 team before we know it. Currently ranked 12 th for efficiency which you would expect will improve next year with more games into this youngsters.

Real happy with the win despite the dull second half ( missed all the exciting 1st half Telstra ya mongrels!!). Grimes will be hard to knock out of the back 6 now after that effort, especially with Salem n H a fair way off! TMac was superb, hard to fathom how ordinary our backline just might be without him. Hogan solid, tonight will be in the front of his mind if he has not might his mind up on his future just yet! Youngest side in the comp once again, upside is enormous in my opinion, enjoy the ride!

Rampe is one of my faves from any other team. He is 189cm though, hardly a small, but can play incredibly well against talls.

I heard an interesting stat on MMM on the way to the ground. We are ranked number 1 for most head high tackles against. Often it is because we have been up against actors who have made a fine art of dropping knees and ducking ( L Thomas, R Mathieson and C Cameron gave it his all yesterday) but clearly this is something we need technique training for.

Agreed, I thought it was a very entertaining game of footy despite the horrendous turnovers from BOTH teams, not just our boys! The start of both the 1st n 3rd killed us. Forward entry in the first in particular was poor, we had many chances to even be in front at qtr time but failed to capitalise. Hunt is becoming a cult hero, one of the more exciting players in the comp....his rise is phenomenal. Really impressed with Stretch as well, come on a lot quicker than I anticipated! Agree on all summations of Dawes, he looked injured or disinterested, possibly both! No direct club source but his illness was mentioned several times on the Dees website and here on DL. I think he may have played his first game 2 weeks ago at Casey in the worst conditions possible for a big man, then the bye, so he has zero match fitness.

I think Pedo has been out of the side only due to illness, i beleve he had pneumonia, which can linger and take the stuffing out of you. They will send him back to Casey for match fitness and i reckon we will see him back in a fortnight, he was a solid contributor prior to illness and streets ahead of Dunn, Garland, Frost n Omac in my opinion!
