  1. It would be seen as a good marketing ploy to add the demons to the the bigger clubs for a trade, if you looked at it as a purely business decision. You would then drop them off as the second place to the media. All spin. We will probably come last. But be shown as the "close runner up". 20%
  2. I think it would make more sense if we were adding something to the Robbo deal. Bullies would want a big man. Jamar Miller or more likely PJ. They also may want Green. I do think however WC will want two first round picks. The higher the better...
  3. A Doggies supporter just rang KB and said he heard 3 weeks ago from an insider at his club that Robbo is coming to the Dogs. For their first round pick and Ward(!) thrown in. He heard that Judd was going to MFC and that the Demons were dealing with the bullies to get judd. Pick 4, 1st round from WB and Ward. If only it was that easy.....
  4. I have been hoping for two weeks that someone would open a book on who the next Essendon coach will be. I would put a bit of money on it being Thompson. My source has always been correct when talking Essendon. And he is sure as eggs are eggs.
  5. Bob, Im reasonably comfortable that Simon wasnt up to it. Footy clubs have good reason to reward effort though. Without both Brown (your boy) and Godfrey our loss is effort but not skill. I dont see Godfrey as a waste of space if Wheels loses his spot to Bartam. If Junior struggles to get in the ones next year, which I reckon will be his last, who will get the stopper job? Buckley? Dunn ... maybe.
  6. My take is that Bails has decided to put the players out on a limb and see how they handle the pressure. I cant say Im happy with Godfreys delisting, and think it puts extra pressure on Junior and Clint. Yes you arent going to win a premiership with him, but does anyone think we are in the 'window"? We dont have star midfielders and to win games or more likely scratch out wins, we need stoppers. His opponent this last year was not automatically in the oppositions best, which you cant say about Ward, Miller and oftentimes Brown and Bell. If you get rid of Godders, why wouldnt you delist Fergs? He's slow and fearless as well. We are not a team chock ablock full of gutsy warriors. And if you are going to compare "hardness" you dont go back thirty years. You may as well say Batman is not as tough as Superman. Hard is tough. I like the line I heard on SEN one day about a player being as tough as "old goats knees". Matthew Lappin is tough. Doggy Brown is tough. Junior is tough. Simon was tough, he should have got another year.
  7. I have been watching to see if anyone else was annoyed about todays umpiring. It was a joke! I thought the umpires had been pretty good all year. To the point that I thought they were going against the mob. After watching the Swans get dudded by home-town Free kicks, I thought it was an anomaly and that they would be back to their best. They demoralized the Roos with their (to my eyes) obvious bias. By midway through the second quarter, when I believe the Roos were equal to the cats, it was the one-sided decisions that swung the game. The roos were beaten. I thought it was dis-graceful.
  8. Stephen Powell suffered OP so bad his pubic bone had begun to dis-integrate, so the story goes(went). MFC saw it coming and wouldnt give him the 3 year deal he got with the Saints, I think. This could mean both KrazyJay and Hannibal are correct. We really dont want to get another Brent Maloney. I remember when some thought we outsmarted Richmond by giving up Pick 12 to get him, yet they took the draft pick instead of beamer!!!
  9. Wait a minute. Isn't it exactly the same fitness regime he instigated at his last two clubs? Hawthorn and Melbourne. It shows that if you want that style you employ BB. He has not shown any variation at all. If you dont want that style, you dont want Bohdan. Therefore you get rid of him.
  10. It should be given to the members that showed up. Macca wasnt good enough this year. his disposal just let him down. Jones is getting there but his decision making let him down. and they were the best...
  11. 9. Alan Johnson deserves to be in this company. 22. Chris Connolly.
  12. Just every now and then a singular post brings a far away look and a desire to open a better red than that already picked out. Good one graz. ps do you have something against 13? yze - Jakovich pps went with a St.Hallet FAITH!
  13. Pathetically crap sound. Apart from Caroline wilson's lisping interjections enquiring about his private life, most of the (possibly) interesting stuff sounded underwater. What I got. 1. He is an educating coach, he was asked if this meant MFC were rebuilding, couldnt hear answer! 2. He is going to start Pre-season early, he believes a 10 game player can be as useful as a 100 gamer if lots of pre-season practise is employed. A lot of what was said was given a straight bat, not really opening up. If it wasnt for the bad sound and Carolyn Wilson's impersonation of Kath from Kath and Kim, asking stupid personal questions I may have got more.
  14. Completely Agree. BTW Chris Connelly has had a few knockers too, during this process. A good bloke and a great player. If he hadnt gone down with shakey knees I believe he would have been a MFC legend, not quite Robbie standard but at least as good as Gary Lyon. I hope we find some way to get him back to the club.
  15. Sorry to change tack but I think Wheels is going to have to find some leg speed to keep his "untouchable" status and automatic selection. And especially, if you are putting Bartram down back, it is definitely Wheels who is looking shaky. He cant play any where else.
  16. I agree. While the jury is still out, IMO, it is remarkable that so many believe he had a Stellar year. I reckon that although he is the type we need, he is not in our best 25.Yet..
  17. When do you say enough is enough? What can you do? I think we arent going to get the best coach on offer. I think it is because the prospective coaches look at how we are run, more than who we have on field. Im not with you Bazza, yet. But Im mightily [censored] off. IMHO you could read the writing on the wall after our pathetic practice matches this year when we had everyone on the park. When that happened at North they shoved out Schimma and put in Pagan. The media screamed but look at North Melbourne since. OK Im going back 15 years, but thats called a hard decision. I am disappointed at the instant dismissal of a 'reasonable in the circumstances" point of view. Me, Im losing faith in Paul Gardner.... He needs to understand his position as chairman is not a part time job. He strikes me as slightly relaxed and possibly indifferent to the supporters.
  18. I have to confess something worse. I actually think Ryan Ferguson is probably OK. I also believe he hasnt had the opportunity to show his credentials. If we delisted six, he wouldnt be in my list. But I figure Im one out.
  19. I saw it. I thought Bell coat hangered another player and Brogan was flying the flag for his team. I also thought that Bell shouldnt have been trying to convince Brogan that he was innocent, which he was. But who did you think was going to go up against Bogan? White? No! I know.... Wheatley.
  20. I would have Polack. Although he hasnt been utilised well as 3rd man up, I believe he is turning (at last) into a decent KPP
  21. Absolutely Agree. He is the first to go in my mind. His decision making and disposal are ABYSMAL! I cant believe Bob is making the call to keep him. I am gobsmacked!
  22. I haven't seen anything that bad but have watched him be a prat many times. Also had a friend who was on the board at the Tigers for a while, and he and his wife had a few stories about his manner and attitude. He wouldn't be welcome back there either.
  23. My fear is not that Chris Connolly comes back although Im putting $10 on Chris Bond(now at elevens on sportsbet), My fear is that the door will be open for the "little mate" Cameron Schwab. I dont like him and dont want him back at the club.
  24. Why? I would think we may want to keep those that go in hard. Simon has courage and endeavor. Plenty dont, but have "style" and look good kicking it. I would get rid of those that go to ground in a contest... Ward Wheatley Yze.
