  1. This article was worth the price of the Herald Sun today. Excellent.
  2. Although I think the Big Mac is 1st picked, Im excited that Pedo looks to be an option. I rate him highly and would like him to be in the Ones early in the year.
  3. Its 10 years since I found myself idly writing out my best team. Didn't realise that it had been that long since we had more than 22 that deserved a game. That old March fever has got me again.
  4. Its Neal Bullen, or Bullen for short according to that genius commentator Spud Frawley.
  5. I actually think he looks like Andrew Leoncelli. I said to my mate Maynard looks like Bizzarro Petracca.
  6. I think his best feature is that he can stop on a dime, swivel and kick accurately off a step. He also gets to where the ball is, very very well.
  7. The seats had moss growing on them from the cold and rain. After a close game it would take an hour to get out of car park. The centre had a mound so that you could not see the other wing. The stands were shallow and not angled up properly. It was extremely ugly and unfinished for a good reason. It was in a rain band. Indefensible.
  8. I lived in Mt Waverly in the afl park time. It was quicker to get to the mCG whatever method. Undefendable.
  9. Okay this is now reminds me of another pre-season I remember, when I believed we would be invincible. No. That's all of them. They all were the best parts of the season..
  10. I believe Tom Mac is our most valuable player. He is first picked for my 22. He is proven, tough and reliable. He seemingly has come back very quickly from his end of year operations and I would be happy to have him as a stand alone captain. I bet other teams envy us and I see him not only kicking 50 if he is not sent back to help out, but goal assisting many others this year. Reminds me of Ross Glendinning.
  11. At my school in East Burwood we had a rule. Pick your team by Grade 2. No changes allowed after. But that was 1962.
  12. If it is to deliver one message, the minute after a goal and on way back before a bounce should suffice.
  13. The drop off has been 2 years in a row at about round 20. Interestingly we are 10 times better during the 1st 5 or 6 rounds these days. I hope the club has a good look at the Swans who lost their 1st 6 or so last year. They ran out of puff but they certainly looked like they were on the money. Not saying I dont want to win against Geelong, I just want a more measured approach to the long season.
  14. Watching the fantastic photos, I was rapt to see Hunt kicking low and hard. Im picking Hunt and Pedo. Im also hoping Brayshaw isnt as far back in the field as I unfortunately rate him.
  15. Why was there no feedback taken after the last camp? Should have been anonymous and studied. I find it difficult to believe that no feedback was sought or that it was but players were reluctant to be identified. If it wasnt reflected upon, then the coaches were not in touch or hadnt understood what the playing group had thought of it. Just sounds unprofessional or at least clumsy all around.
  16. Id really like a FM station that had Francis Leach and say, Bob Murphy doing drive time radio. I like the Ox but I find the whole station 90% driven by dumbf##ks. Being in touch with my grump side, I can normally only last 20-30 minutes till Marko sh!ts me. I dont think it has to be dumbed down that much but a smarter (more grown up?) take on sport couldnt go wrong.
  17. I think his best attribute is his ability to turn on a sixpence after gathering the ball from almost full speed and then just as quickly, find and crucially hit a target.
  18. Watched the Goodbye to Ripponlea studios on the ABC last night. Excellent show. May have noticed a well known Demonlander in one of the shots.
  19. Ive avoided this thread but i remember the Thursday afternoon training at the junction in late August early September as the grass had a whiff of spring, and the cans were on sale. Id pay good money entry if there was a chance of a similar situation occuring. Elsternwick oval is being redone and it seems like Bayside council would entertain the thought of something so bizarrely attached to their map actually making money. Parking, trams and trains close by. Its enclosed so you have to pay to get in. Cricket and the VAFA seem to have it but it is incredibly underutilized.
  20. Bugg and Pederson to have great years. Hogan and Petracca to stay promising. Tom MacDonald to be match winner again at least twice. ANB to be 1st 22. I hope to see more short passes lace out inside the 50.
