We have young and still inexperienced players and we will lose close ones in the future. But when the close ones happen id like to see more "F##k we nearly did it". And less "Im over this club that gives me nothing". Demonland really only goes the latter. Although I have hardly done the former, I keep my whining internal or in-house now. It was a lesson when I overheard my sister (swans) tell a friend when she thought I couldnt hear "He barracks for Melbourne, its like he is caring for a disabled brother". Im sure a few of us may have had similar unasked sympathies thrust upon them over the past 40 or so years. We will be the envy of other club's supporters soon and they can get [censored].

Good question. The website says Thursday morning but as it is a Sunday game, I figured it would be a Friday morning training session. Anyone know?

This year has been fantastic and although we have lost a fair few close ones, we are competitive and we have absolute guns to watch. Also its near the finals and we (well me) havent been obsessing about who we can get in the draft and the 10!!! players we need to get rid of. This is normally my life after about round 12. I honestly think we have the best team in the AFL to support for the next at least 7 years. (I dont even think I will regret saying this). The forever winter is over.

It just showed to me that umpires DO have a major influence over tight games. We just happened to not get paid one or two against us inside 50 in the last quarter. It made a difference. It shouldnt.

If as it seems, that jumper punching will incur suspension, there needs to be a change to allow forwards and midfielders to get away from grabbing hands that stop them from leading and spreading. In Buggs case it was Heeney that was holding his jumper and that looked the same with Andy Brayshaw as Gaff was attempting to run into space. Im not sure of the answer but disallowing a player to get free needs to be looked at.

I agree actually. But I was laughing at the comments on the Instagram he put up of Fed cops waiting for Gaff at Tullamarine. What a [censored] I thought!Then it was true! He deserves it anyway I guess.

There has been an over reaction to Gaff's stupid punch IMO. I can see the arc swinging back in a day or two to sympathy for the devil. It is a huge blot in an otherwise stellar career. I think 6 weeks and a genuine apology would see it over.

one of the options discussed a week or so ago is that the penalty includes at least one week against the team whom the incident happened against. i.e 6 weeks and a week when the Derby rolls around again.

Yes. If only to stop square-ups that both teams will fight about. If the player is sent off, there is no one to remonstrate with.

There are too many who detest the Bugg. I wouldnt be surprised if he is close to a dramatic "in" as he finds the footy and although isnt pretty and misses many shots, he bobs up in games. He isnt as flashy as Kent but Id have him, if it came down those two.

Im the opposite. When we play Sundays there is not much to read about in the papers as opposed to playing Friday.

Because Anzac Day next year is on a Thursday, we then play Wednesday night. This would mean the week before we will probably play on the Thursday or Friday night. And hopefully the Friday night night following Anzac Day against Essendon.

I would like to see Tim Smith come in for Jesse if he needs a weeks rest. If AVB is given the nod instead, this could allow Clarrie to go forward longer. Id rather Jesse stay but he probably needs a freshener.
