  1. Best description. He is as effective physically as Voss, but moves with the grace of Simon Black.
  2. Im so, so sick of holding my breath... Ive gotta say it, we have almost made it through pre-season without a bad new injury. This is as good as 2 wins in the bag.
  3. Brendan McCartney believes how important pre-seasons were. Many players have still to do a full pre-season and how crucial it is to, not only fitness but interestingly, to skill. He said that it is only when the player is at their peak and have totally grown into their body, meaning height as well in Weids case, and actually undergoing a 1st preseason in Vand den and J Smths (I think) case, that the silky side of skills blossoms. I hadnt realised he was foreseeing a large percentage of our best players were going under the knife end of year. It does make you gasp to see how Jack Viney and van den Burg came in at the end of season and took the bull by the horns so to speak. In any case it seems to me the telling part of 2019 will be how we go in the 1st half dozen and the last few matches.
  4. I dont post much. You have incorrectly replied or taken out of context my last 2 posts. Please refrain. I dont need you to "stick up" for the club on any of my observations. I don't rate your reports and its is not that you disagree with my posts, it is that you make out I said something I didn't. For the record,i) I didn't bag Garlett although I was ignoring you, ii)I am quite sure the players I have referred to are experiencing an interrupted preseason (your inability to notice this is a giveaway to your knowledge) and iii) I made no reference at all to 1st year players. And if you are going to reply again please dont bloke me. Bloke is not a pronoun.
  5. 10 of many's best 22 with a very interrupted pre-season. Injury looms as our biggest opponent for the 1st half and maybe all, of 2019.
  6. #unfortunatelookintomysoul I was idly watching the History of the Eagles the other night when Glenn Frey said we are the best band in the world but need to get Joe Walsh to join to give us more balls and we will be AWESOME. I thought to myself "Steven May...".
  7. Poor old demonland. I guess it is the time of the year.
  8. My understanding is that Sam has just finished growing taller and has not yet done a full pre-season. He isnt even 22 until late June. It is fair to hope for a lot more each year from now. I was a convert, but those that know more than me, expect greatness.
  9. Thats because Roos said you will be better in the back line. Howe didnt like to hear that. So after 3 months in the forward line at the Pies, guess where he was shifted to?
  10. I dont like Scully as a person but he was a great footballer, whom I have to admit I hope doesn't reach the heights of his powers again. But that is only because the Hawks got another one for free. I certainly don't have any time at all for the melodramatic "lying to a dying man" BS. Hogan goes because he was missing home. Howe left because he listened to both his manager (more money) and Buckley (you can play forward). We may have bigger fish to fry in the next couple of years as player managers and other band wagoners whisper to our elite about more money elsewhere.
  11. Omac has a high ceiling. Although he has bad days his path is inclining.
  12. Im pretty sure there are many usernames (and email addresses) used by the one poster. I find it funny when they forget which one they should use. It should be banned.
  13. I think the Stephen May part of the equation is a little overlooked. I think he has been a ripper Full back and his best is in front of him. Brian lake switched to the Hawks much later in his career and won a Norm Smith.
  14. Luke Darcy would and has said anything he likes. I must admit I don't like him at all.
  15. Those waiting for a quick answer should realise that many BIG trades end up waiting for other smaller ones to go through. 8.30pm on Wednesday, October 17 is the end of the trade period. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-09-10/when-is-the-2018-afl-trade-period
  16. I guess the bottom line is that some see Hoges being able to lead, mark and goal as good as Josh Kennedy in the next year or so. I dont see that, but I can see how they have many similar attributes. Hogan who although has stats showing he is incredibly fast, just cant get on a fast lead and mark high and in front.

That particular mouth has needed to be washed out before. :) But sounds like both sides have walked away. If we dont get a free agent we are still holding pretty much a royal flush in players going into next year, ruck withstanding. if Tyson and Kent are traded we are still well in the 2nd and 3rd round of the draft.
  18. If Jesse wants to stay, he stays. if he wants to go, Im pretty confident he and the club would look after each other.
  19. How many "close this threads" calls were on Jack Watts thread? It doesnt look to me as if Jesse is happy at MFC at all.At all. If he is as staunch as stated fine, but I dont believe it.
  20. Disclaimer: I thought Brayshaw was Gone earlier this year. Now I think that we need to look at future picks. We dont have a 1st rounder this year and although we have done well with later picks last year, Id like to shore up some talent. I think Hogan is worth about what Jake Lever is. If that is so, Id like it to be a 1st round this year and another one next year. I think Tyson, Bugg are later picks but Oscar should be worth a bit. All speculation of course. Love all the players but make hay while the sun shines.

If as it seems, that jumper punching will incur suspension, there needs to be a change to allow forwards and midfielders to get away from grabbing hands that stop them from leading and spreading. In Buggs case it was Heeney that was holding his jumper and that looked the same with Andy Brayshaw as Gaff was attempting to run into space. Im not sure of the answer but disallowing a player to get free needs to be looked at.

I agree actually. But I was laughing at the comments on the Instagram he put up of Fed cops waiting for Gaff at Tullamarine. What a [censored] I thought! Then it was true! He deserves it anyway I guess.

I feel sorry for Mark Stevens. People are so unkind.

There has been an over reaction to Gaff's stupid punch IMO. I can see the arc swinging back in a day or two to sympathy for the devil. It is a huge blot in an otherwise stellar career. I think 6 weeks and a genuine apology would see it over.

they could have red carded 6 GWS players against the Blues then. Still won by 90+ points.
