I look forward to seeing Clarry handing out the high four and a halves to his teammates.

That's what we poached pretty Pettyfor for.

The fact that Lever could even jump should have been a strong hint that the injury wasn't too serious.

Jeff Farmer was nicknamed "The Wizard" before we even recruited him, just the same as the Hawthorn kid.

How do Demon fans feel about Daniel Turner being given Michael Roach's famous nickname of "Disco"? There have been many, many incidences of two or more players having the same nickname. It's really not anything worth being angry or upset about IMO.

She also does that job at home ... in the garden of Eden. sorry

Outstanding!!

Neither Watson nor Farmer gave themselves their nickname. Similarly, both had that nickname before they were even drafted. It's not the kid's fault. The commentators, on the other hand ....

He was our captain then he left for the bigger money at Sydney just when we were getting into finals. Just when we needed him. Gerard was never captain of Melbourne. His brother Greg was after R. Flower and before G. Lyon.

Didn't do Jeff Farmer any harm.

This piqued my interest and given the time I have on my hands, I looked it up on AFL Tables. In '76, they lost the first three games. In '75, they lost the first four before going on to their first flag. They never lost the first six in the period 1974-78 when they made the GF every year.

Which AFL team do you have the least love for? Which team is it that you simply loathe, detest, abhor, despise and dislike intensely? Who do you love to beat most of all and celebrate every loss they endure to other teams? Which team is the spider in your glovebox, the pebble in your shoe, the grinder of your gears? The poll is anonymous, so vent your spleen here. I have a feeling I know which mob will get the most votes.

Shuffling the ex-Demons on the Titanic?

I was at that game but a long, long way from the Harmes incident as we were seated in the top deck behind the Punt Road goals at the opposite end of the MCG. Let me say without hesitation, without doubt and unequivocally that I can absolutely, cross my heart, 100% guarantee that by that late stage of the game I was so drunk I couldn't even see the other end of the ground but can confirm that indeed it was definitely a legitimate goal.

Poor old Tom Fullarton. Even his own club can't spell his name right.

Don't worry, Kev. I'm in a very forgiving mood after seeing Collingwood get rolled last night. You just keep those great training reports coming. We all appreciate the time and effort you put in.

This just in from AFL Headquarters: If Collingwood lose to Brisbane next week and to a Jack Ginnivan-led Hawthorn the week after in Gather Round, they will be granted exclusive draft access to Nathan Fyfe's twin boys as compensation. If that happens, expect to hear a lot about Collingwood, Owen Fyfe and Norton Fyfe.

Inside word is that Petty is definitely playing, but only for the first half of the game given his fitness levels. At half-time, he's going to give his jumper to his doppelganger Jed Adams who will play the second half as a completely fresh player. Only Mrs Petty and Mrs Adams will notice anything unusual.

Imagine the salvage operation. Rescuers would just be going through the motions.

This is Australia. It is a requirement by law that Shane McAdam be nicknamed "Macca".

You reckon $2,500 is a substantial fine for a highly paid AFL Captain? That's just loose change for Sicily, assuming of course that the money even comes out of his own pocket. Kicking an opponent is as low as it gets. He deserved to cop a suspension for his actions. Onya AFL.

Does Kynan have a close relative called Shazza?
