  1. Geelong on top of that table. Well, what a coincidence. Lego have just released the latest in their AFL club range.
  2. An explorer is deep in the jungle, in a corner of the earth never before seen by civilized man. Suddenly, he hears drums in the distance. He turns to his faithful native guide and asks what the drums mean. “No worry, no worry,” says the guide, “drums good, drums okay.” The explorer, trusting his guide, continues on through the jungle. The drums get louder and closer as darkness falls, and they set to make camp. “Are you sure this is safe, making camp with those drums so close by?” says the explorer. “No worry, no worry,” says the guide, “drums good, drums okay.” So they make a little fire, and eat something. The explorer is uneasy about sleeping, with that strange drumming nearby. He is about to ask his guide once again for reassurance, when, as suddenly as they began, the drums stop. The guide freezes, a look of terror on his face. “What? What is it?” whispers the explorer, “Is it bad that the drums stopped?” “Drums good, drums okay,” said the guide, “But drums stop, that bad. Very bad, when drums stop…” “What? Tell me! What is it that comes after the drums stop?!?” “Bass solo.”
  3. It would be even worse if they were po-tato / pot-ato.
  4. More Ray Biffin fun facts: 1 - He holds the record for the most games by any player in the #19 at Melbourne. 2 - One day at Moorabbin when it was blowing a gale to one end, Biff spent the entire game at one end of the ground. He played full back when we were defending against the wind and full forward when we were kicking with it. 3 - Although best remembered as a defender, he won Melbourne's goalkicking in 1976 with 47 majors. 4 - He represented Tasmania in first-class cricket.
  5. He wore #40 in his first season and #19 thereafter. Biffin by name, Biffin' by occupation as Lou Richards (IIRC) once observed.
  6. Another example tonight of the common occurence in football games where a team will jump their opponents in the first quarter, have the other team claw back the deficit then run out of steam in the last with the final margin similar to what it was at quarter time. Kalani showed enough to make me think he definitely has a future at AFL level. Choose wisely young grasshopper. Choose Melbourne!
  7. Sad news for all the Carlton Lego fans this week ...
  8. The Beach Boys?
  9. All this talk about Gini this and Gini that. I don't want to hear about Jack Ginnivan on a Demons forum.
  10. So by your own definition he's kicked two "bags" in ten games. A bag has always been considered to be five or more in a game. You make a fair point about the Giants' embarrassment of riches.
  11. 2.2 goals per game is considered "absolute bags"? 🤔
  12. The commentators weren't blaming Jackson for what Matthews did. Nothing excuses Matthews' actions, but Jacko's role in creating the violent mayhem and ill feeling that existed that day provides some context.
  13. I remember the TV commentators at that game being adamant that it was the unhinged, reckless, aggressive actions of Mark Jackson (playing for Geelong at that stage and whacking opponents) that fuelled bad feelings and precipitated further violence which culminated in the Matthews/Bruns disgrace.
  14. Wonderful highlights, but do not unmute unless you are a fan of cheesy, crappy background music.
  15. They've run out of sixes, but have a surplus of nines.
  16. Fact or oft-repeated speculation?
  17. The Brownlow votes for this game will be interesting. Which of the four umpires will miss out?
  18. Or maybe the free kicks were there. There's no rule that says that both sides have to receive roughly the same amount of frees.
  19. I'm just getting warmed up. Here's another toy that hit the market this year.
  20. From the AFL website. I can't understand why the announcement is so late. The teams for the King's Birthday clash between Melbourne and Collingwood will be announced at 6.20pm AEST on Sunday.
  21. I don't know about that. Any Lego fans on here interested in their new football range?
  22. Max, alas, does not. ☹️ I'm with the rest of you who hate seeing him spin the footy in his hands but, once he holds it in both hands, he has another bad habit of moving the ball left and right instead of holding it steady. You just knew what was going to happen with that set shot on Sunday.
  23. Oh yeah, clearly the venue's fault. Couldn't possibly have happened on any other ground. Nosiree!
