Aaron vandenBerg looked like he was having fun out there today, crashing in to register eight tackles as he used his body as a battering ram to clear the path for teammates. Whilst less impactful, Alex Neal-Bullen started to find the footy as well. These two were sorely missed in 2019, and the Dees look a lot better with them in the team. What's he talking about regarding Nibbler being "sorely missed" last year?

Interesting that Hawthorn, who seemingly won flags at will for a few years there, are second on that list just one behind us. Destroys any notion of a correlation between ex-players winning flags and being an unsuccessful club.

Yep, knocked his head on the ground after taking yet another speccy late in the game. "Nureyev!" exclaimed an enthralled Sandy Roberts in response to Schwarz's acrobatics that day. When asked after the game why he hadn't taken Schwarz off as a precaution, coach Neil Balme said "I just like watching him play". So did we, Neil. Alas, we lost the following week to West Coast, Schwarta was relatively quiet and it was the following pre-season when he did his knee for the first time and he was never the same player again.
