  1. Does anybody know the purpose of all this ball-spinning we're seeing these days from many players?
  2. You would hope it's just the wind, but so far it's just been a scrappy, error-ridden shocking spectacle of a game.
  3. Stellar work as usual, Webber. I love the look of the jumper without all the sponsors' logos and AFL insignia.
  4. These were our best players according to 'The Age'. Looks like we have another midfield god to accompany Gawn, Petracca and Oliver. BEST Melbourne: Petracca, May, Oliver, Pickett, Fritsch, Gawn, Hermes.
  5. Aloha Max and Goody!
  6. Yes, Kynan is Doggy's son and odds on to be nicknamed "Puppy" if we draft him.
  7. Tony Anderson began the 1969 season wearing the number 11, but due to injury he retired after the first three games. Wells, who had worn number 50 in the reserves, was given the number 11 when he made his debut in round 18 and kicked four goals in what was a boilover win over top of the ladder Carlton.
  8. I noticed that he has a run up like Buddy Franklin when kicking for goal. They call it "Noah's Arc". sorry
  9. They belted Geelong seconds last night, almost doubling their score.
  10. That-dirty-rotten-little-stager-Weightman has ELEVEN.
  11. This John Snow knew quite a lot about turf.
  12. I always thought that Tom Waits should release an album called "For No One".
  13. Opinions may differ. Strongly.
  14. Very nice! That steel guitar has done many, many miles by the look of it. That first song reminds me a lot of John Hiatt's "Your Dad Did" off his excellent "Bring The Family" album. Did you ever get into Seasick Steve? I bought a "Best Of" CD but he seems to lack something I can't quite define.
  15. I spent some time with mine last Friday night. They seem nice.
  16. The Dead South are more bluegrass than your outfit hardtack, but thought you might like this.
  17. Given that nearly every other sporting organisation managed the same feat, I don't see it as extraordinary. Then again, I'm biased and loath to give Gil much credit.
  18. I suspect that many people have already made up their minds and will be voting early. Early voting is available in the two weeks leading up to election day.
  19. The reality bus?
  20. I reckon Benny Gale would make an ideal replacement, but anybody who has read Mick Warner's "The Boys' Club" would be unsurprised in the least to see the job go to one of Gil's AFL mates.
  21. You're the one who should be jealous. My copy of "The Raven" album has the rare and beautiful 3D cover ... and you're not getting it!
  22. Alan Jarrott, a competitive and nuggety type who played 91 games for Melbourne in the 80s after crossing from North Melbourne, was from Moyhu. The only other VFL/AFL recruit to hail from there was Hawthorn's John Hendrie, a forward who played in two premierships and who was more than a decent player.
  23. I thought we'd already covered this!
