POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Meanwhile, Brodie Grundy has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his ankle and Jamie Elliott has re-signed for a further three years at Pieland.

Patrick Cripps FREE to play
I'm wearing my favourite t-shirt at this very moment!

You set 'em up and I'll knock 'em down! There's no apostrophe in "apostrophes".

Jesse Hogan
They aren't the only two options Macca and you know that. It's not an either/or proposition. I think your problem is that you can't handle anybody having a different opinion to yours. You may keep arguing if you wish. I'm out.

Jesse Hogan
1. I don't think he's the answer to our forward problems. 2. I don't hate Jesse. 3. This is not about forgiveness, it's about getting the right footballer for our needs. You've managed to convince yourself that Jesse Hogan is a player we should entice back to the club. I disagree with your opinion. There's no need to try and make it about anything else.

Jesse Hogan
No, Freo were the ones who valued him so highly.

Who's helping to fix our goal kicking woes?
Dom Sheed.

NON-MFC: Round 21, 2022
Demonlanders trying to convince themselves that Cripps won't get rubbed out.

Jesse Hogan
Fremantle was Jesse's second chance. GWS was his third. I'm not in favour of risking a fourth. We traded him for a reason. In horseracing parlance, prefer others.

Did somebody say "one trick pony"?

Don't blame the umpires. We didn't take our chances and they did and we were outplayed. Losing to this mob is always the bitterest pill to swallow. Goodnight all.

Collingwood - One trick pony
Who would know more about one trick ponies than Mister Ed?

Round For Reach - Be like Jim
Donation made to a most worthy cause. Hard to believe it's been ten years since we lost Jimmy. I'd caution posters not to google "Reach Round". It may lead you to sites best avoided.

How do you feel about people who think that "laconic" means the same thing?

To say it's a cliched, catch-all pejorative would be to risk straying into the muddy waters of politics.

Malapropism is the use of an incorrect word in an amusingly inappropriate way and may be deliberate or accidental, but is more commonly the latter.

Strange quote from Freo coach
I thought he was close to their best player on Friday night.

Inspired by adonski: Disinterested: Unbiased. Uninterested: Don't care.

I wouldn't class that as a malapropism.

Strange quote from Freo coach
I wonder if Longmuir meant indifferences or differences? One for the grammar thread, perhaps?

Let me vent my spleen a little more. 1. "You're bias". You can have bias, in which case you are biased. It's a noun, not a verb. 2. "That's cringe". It may make you cringe, in which case it's cringeworthy. 3. "Get off of". An Americanism that just grates. 4. "Allot" means to distribute, to allocate. If there is plenty of something, there's a lot of it.

Either that or they'd think it was a Greek bloke coming down the stairs.

It's a challenge not to be condescending to Collingwood supporters. On the off chance any Magpie fans are reading this thread, "condescending" means to talk down to.

I've noticed that many players use "myself" instead of "me". For example, they'll say something like "The coach had a word with myself about kicking for goal".
