  1. It’s quite possible we’ll see large numbers of players changing clubs but that might happen through delisted free agent pick ups rather than via trades. We’re seeing clubs placing too high a value on some players up for trade and hence there are often no takers as other clubs take the view that they simply have to wait for players to be delisted before they strike. We will possibly get someone like Sam Murray that way and might also find that JKH and/or Stretch are let go if they can’t be traded.
  2. Is it too late for our basket-case of a club to make application for a couple of priority picks in next month’s draft based on Mr Ralph’s expert opinions?
  3. The question is does Ben King want to end up at Melbourne and is he really that good?
  4. REPORT: FRINGE GIANT CONTEMPLATING FRESH START AT NEW CLUB The little known out of favour Giant could be on the move.
  5. Interesting. This means that we have four vacancies at the present time and this will remain at four if we gain Langdon and Tomlinson and lose Frost and Stretch. Three, if we get Elliott. Essentially, we should have 6 or 7 new names on the list after the draft plus a few drafted last year who have yet to make their debuts (Bedford, Jordan and Nietschke). And on top of that, well over a dozen others who missed a lot of games in 2019. Therefore, we can expect a very different Melbourne taking the field in 2020.
  6. Needless to say, he never made it.
  7. Paige Cardona just tweeted - "Why have the AFL given the Suns pick 2 to go with No.1? Why not put money into the clubs soft cap? Invest in development, facilities etc? There's no guarantee these kids won't request a trade in a few years time. Pushing other clubs back in the draft is robbing Peter to pay Paul." She’s a Collingwood supporter in case anyone’s wondering.
  8. AFL would love to have the Giants in a grand final but more than that, they like the $s involved in a Collingwood grand final so bye, bye Toby Greene.
  9. Except thanks to the corrupted regime that runs the game and picks and chooses who gets priority picks and where they get them, it won’t be a number two draft pick.
  10. Expected Munro to do better. He was in the best every time I saw them play. Still, I suppose the players who tackle and work hard aren’t noticed as much as the ones who do the spectacular stuff.
  11. Turned on just after half time and saw the scores. Switched off immediately.
  12. Joining this collection
  13. We weren’t gifted that pick. It was the appropriate compensation according to the existing rules.
  14. I wouldn’t be too sure of that. I tuned into last night’s game expecting Collingwood to kick a cricket score against Essendon and they struggled to shake them off until after three quarter time. On second thoughts, it was a cricket score being close to what the Poms managed in their first innings.
  15. Ask for a priority pick or bring back Tom Bugg.
  16. I agree with all of the arguments about early picks etc not being the answer but I would still like to see the club throw out a curve ball by applying for a priority pick on the basis of our mediocre performance this year. After all, even Garry Lyon thinks we’re cr@p and we’ve played in the finals once in 13 years. Oops, sorry. We’re nice guys. We don’t rock boats, we sink in them.
  17. 6. Angus Brayshaw 5. Christian Petracca 4. James Harmes 3. Sam Frost 2. Clayton Oliver 1. Bayley Fritsch
  18. Is the game on television?
  19. We really have to be very careful with our team selections now that our season’s well and truly cooked. We don’t want some hack journo with an agenda coming up with a half-cocked conspiracy theory based on us dropping an out of form player that we’re tanking for draft picks.
  20. 6. Max Gawn 5. Bayley Fritsch 4. Clayton Oliver 3. Christian Salem 2. James Harmes 1. Nathan Jones
  21. Casey win by 13 points. You have to have faith, my friend.
  22. I know exactly how this ends.
  23. On another tack - Carlton’s website does an opposition watch every week. This is the one for Melbourne.
  24. The only guarantees we have is that for once Preuss plays. He’s a lock if Max is unfit to play but if Max is declared fit to play but re-injures himself, there’s going to be hell to pay if he doesn’t.
  25. 6. Clayton Oliver 5. Max Gawn 4. Tom McDonald 3. Jack Viney 2. Jay Lockhart 1. Angus Brayshaw
