Melksham is the main tagger these days. Gibbs was pretty much ineffective as was Pendlebury and many others. Hitting the scoreboard with crucial goals has been a bonus.

Get a grip man. Enough with the nobody loves us go and eat worms conspiracy theories. When we have had players deserving of AA they have been selected. Jetta is maybe in the mix but so are many others including another Melbourne defender Hibberd.

I've gone from thinking Stretch was a sure-handed linkman with decent disposal to barely VFL.

Gutsy! Game plan held up even when undermanned. Good sign. Nev was incredible and deserves the plaudits but so was Frosty.

Billy Stretch needed to be much harder there.

Getting smashed in clearances but Goodwin's more attacking game plan paying dividends. Frost and Hibberd great great again. Old-timers Vince and Lewis OK. Need a lift from Hannan, Gawn, Jesse and jeff.

Positives were the McDonald brothers and the defence holding up OK despite the onslaught. Many had Hibberd, Jetta, Frost and OMac in their best six. Petracca kicked a couple of nice goals from outside 50. First quarter, despite Sydney's bombardment, lead by three goals at one stage. But it was thumb in the dike stuff!

Jones, Viney, Salem, Watts, Jeffy and Hogan are all big outs. One third of your best team. The next month will be difficult even though they have been all heart in the last fortnight.

Something a little worrying talking about possible changes on a Sunday when we should be bathing in the glory of Saturday night! This week I don't mind waiting for the MRP, Misso's spin and our guys saying Garlett, Salem and Viney are all fit to play only for them not to be selected!

Have a special interest in Bayley Fritsch. Know his old man who was a beast of a footballer at Coldstream and great cricketer. What did those at the game like? Any AFL traits?

Thought Lewis was poor for much of the game. Ring a ring a rosy handballs. Stupid 50 metre penalties and free kicks. Appeared at times the game was too quick for him.

Ball carriers that can kick are the biggest need. Salem, Hibberd, Watts, Jones and Lewis can do it. Viney, Stretch, Harmes, Bugg, ANB, Kennedy, Wagner, Brayshaw, Tyson, Melksham i'm less confident about. That said the likes of Viney and Tyson do bring other attributes. I would like a super fit, quick Kelly, Whitfield, Mitch Duncan, Zac Williams, the Hill brothers-type.
