What’s really changed since our last loss?
dee-tox replied to The team we love's topic in Melbourne Demons
Here goes: 1. Over aggressive defensive press less aggressive. Lever used often as the last line of defence. 2. Not every player getting sucked into the contest. Now have players on the outside to provide links. Hawthorn killed us on the outside even though we won it on close. 3. New roles for Fritsch and Brayshaw. Both have been a revelation. 4. Return of TMac. 5. Return to form of ANB, Harmes, Melksham, Hibberd and Jetta. 6. Going through the centre corridor and switching the ball when required. 7. Hitting up forward 50 targets and not just bombing on Garlett's head. 8. Turnover merchants like Tyson, Frost, Wagner and Bugg dropped to the twos. 9. Playing Jones as an inside mid allowing Salem to play quarter back role. 10. Confidence in all of the above. -
Clarry "one of the best to emerge in last 20 years"

Not sure we were ever going let him slip. Apparently we were the only ones that liked him as a first round pick. Was considered a bolter only because Melbourne were interested and had two picks in the top 10. That's the great thing about our recruiters now. Capable of identifying real talent and going for it. -

Always been a tank, but he's now a Landkreuzer P1500 Monster! Scary.

Fritsch is silk. Inspired recruiting.

Can't watch it Petraccattack! Eishold, Yeats missing from close range... Most disappointment i've experienced at a football match.

Absa-bloody-lutely, RTG. Led the clearances, the Inside 50s, the stoppages, the contested possessions and overall possessions. -

Milkshake career high five goals!

Fritta! Crush em Dees!

Tough old game, but Dees are setting up well. McDonald, Melksham, Jones, Lever, Smith all doing well.
-
Understand the need to have him. We lack silk on the outside. However, I prefer a younger target that can give you eight or nine years service. Maybe Witherden from Brissy, or Fiorini from the Suns? Then again these guys are not free agents.

Fair enough, but means bugger all. Our wins with the exception of North have been against struggling sides. The test will come with likes of Adelaide, a rejuvenated Collingwood, West Coast, etc.
-
Not sure you could call him a moron. Save that for the likes of Tony Shaw, Robbo, BT, Derwayne, Bill Brownless, etc. What I've never liked about him is he calls football like a horse race. Also uses 'in terms of' in far too many sentences. That means you've mangled your sentence structure.

Sunday's game was the start only for Brayshaw. I didn't like his pre season games and at the time wondered if he would live up to early expectations. Unlike Oliver and Viney, Brayshaw, Salem and Petracca have only shown fleeting glimpses of their talent.

Whole team handballs too much.

Disappointing we didn't grind them into the Etihad concrete. They weathered the Saint storm but should have won by at least 10 goals. Such wins build confidence and percentage. Some real positives though. Brayshaw racking them up. Lewis' disposal. Couple of goals from the Weed
