I distinctly remember Melky’s 200th. The awful things being said about him on here: we’re nursing Goody’s mate to 200, he must have photos of Goody’s wife etc. etc. [censored] etc. It was my first time raising the banner and to see him proudly run out with his kids, and all the while all’s that was ringing around in my head was Goody’s wife, Melky’s dog getting run over etc. etc. [censored] etc. Nek minnit those selfsame knobs were singing his praises as they have all along dontchya know. #stillAngryAfAboutThat

Fun fact: you know the expression about shifting/moving the goalposts? Well, it’s a real thing. Last night the goalposts weren’t in the usual place. They’d been moved about 12-18 inches to one side. Kinda amusing watching regulars who sit in the same seat every week discombobulated for the first quarter, ‘til they got used to it 😅

Their fans also weren’t as loud as usual, the ones who turned up anyways. Prematch on the big screen was their announcement that they now have 112,000 members. 60,000 attended (incl. our supporters). Where the hell were the rest of their people?

He came down to our bay at one point and sought me out. He wanted to meet Ryan, our awesome chant-leader who was in the same row. Ryan was busy waving a giant flag (we had just kicked a goal so there was bedlam with giant everythings waving about) so he said, “Please tell Ryan I said hello” and he turned to leave. I said, “Paul! Come in and sit with us!” The poor thing looked horrified 🤣

I apologise, sincerely. I knee-jerked and I shouldn’t have. You are a positive poster and I appreciate your optimism and confidence for next year.
