  1. Comments like this only serve to compound the problem.
  2. I reckon when he’s killing it out there next season he mightn’t dwell on it so much. I hope so, anyways.
  3. Okaaaaaay 😳 Thank you for explaining… I think. One thing I completely understand is your obvious respect and admiration for the late, great RDB and that’s very cool. We friends again? 😘
  4. They resume training at 10am on Thursday the 9th of January at Casey Fields. The schedule thereafter has yet to be announced. If you and your kids are here for most of January there’s these sessions… At this stage they’re set to commence at 10am.
  5. Not a cheap shot at all, 58er. Typos notwithstanding I had trouble understanding what you were trying to express.
  6. He’s definitely self-conscious and it’s sad to see. He’s putting in so much work and now that his hand has fully healed he’s close to 2021 Claz (IMHO). Goody and Selwyn and pretty much everyone involved are very pleased with where he’s at now. Most importantly, he knows that he’s turned the corner. But it’s this notion that he’s not ripped and that he’s “fat” that seems to pervade his thoughts. I guess running around with the likes of Tracc and Melks etc. doesn’t help, even Bowser’s sporting a little six-pack.
  7. The guy’s a mindfulness coach, not a miracle worker.
  8. Ben’s first assignment: get into Clarrie’s head and convince him he’s NOT a fat [censored], which is how he currently sees himself. He believes this. At the sponsors/coterie function two weeks ago our DA boss-lady asked us to get a pic of a player in our tent. It’s a DA thang. She suggested Clarrie so I went to ask him. As we were heading to the tent we passed a fan who realised where I was taking Clarrie and this bloke says, “Hey Clayton, I hope you’re not thinking of eating any sausages!” and he laughs and nods towards Clarrie’s stomach. I instantly sensed a change in Clarrie and I said, “Dude thinks he’s hilarious.” Clarrie put his hand on his stomach and said, “He’s not wrong, though.” I told him for starters pot/kettle and a VERY BIG pot at that (this bloke wasn’t exactly rocking a washboard belly). I reminded him that he’s super fit and in great shape etc. and that genetics plays a part etc. and similar uplifting facts. Clarrie perceives himself as fat and perception is reality. But perception can be changed. Have at him, Ben!!!
  9. Nah, @Demonland is the one with the Maxy scoop. Seems he knew something was up a day before the news broke, or should I say before Maxy’s larynx broke (too soon?) Hope to see you at training again before you go back home to Seattle. And hope your guts behave themselves. Hashtag No More Squirtz 😜
  10. I’d barely finish the sentence “Let me tell you all about it” and they’d be out the door. 😄 They humour me when I get home from a nail-biting win for example, but listening to training stories is a bridge too far.
  11. Better it happened now than in a couple of months. Also, it proves they’re not holding back during training. #GlassStillHalfFull
  12. This reminds me of when a teammate trod on Fritta’s foot during training two years ago, causing significant damage. I don’t know who broke Maxy’s larynx but what I can say is it wasn’t the same player since the Foot-gate player no longer plays for us. 😁
  13. It sure does. The surface will be ready by then. It will be closed. Track-watchers can attend but can only watch from behind the fence.
  14. Molly O’Hustle 😭A handheld banner beckons! PS: Molly looks a lot like my favourite former tennis player, Agnieszka Radwanska
  15. The sad faces are for them, not me. 😅 They love when I devote so much time to my footy “sons” coz it means they cruise under my radar. 😅 Seriously, I have an incredibly close relationship with my sons. They don’t get into footy at all (hipsters, the three of them) but they love footy because it makes me happy.
  16. I hear ya, DD. 😅 First session back, before the boys came over from the rooms, I chose my words carefully when I asked Goody if he’s happy with the players’ fitness and shape etc. I didn't wanna come off as creepy. Goody did nothing to help the cause. When the boys were in the tent (many of them topless) getting ready to hit the park, Goody says, “Have you seen the boys?! They look amazing, don’t they?! Have a look at their bodies!” 😅
  17. I’m pretty sure djr meant good forums. 😅
  18. @Demonland Andy can you please add “2025” to the thread title? TIA
  19. This is as it stands now. Should there be any changes, and as more details come to light, I’ll post them here. 👍🏽
  20. Ghostwriter a no-show today 😭 Almost made it a clean sweep; attended every session but fell at the last hurdle 😭😭 And now I won’t see my boys for three weeks 😭😭😭 Guess my biological boys will have to do for now 😭😭😭😭
  21. You unwittingly sent a bunch of W diehards into a frenzy. You’re the fox in our henhouse 😂 Our illustrious DA boss-lady read your post and immediately posted it on our W WhatsApp. Now that we know it was said by the hosts of the draft livestream we’re thinking they meant she’s not returning from Ireland until closer to the beginning of preseason 🤷‍♀️ we hope so anyways.
  22. I found similar lyrics but it’s Michael Buble and you don’t strike me as a fan.
  23. Google wins the prize.
  24. From what I see he’s at a point where he’s been welcomed back into the fold by all (teammates). It appears to have happened in stages because again, they’re human, so some were quicker to embrace him than others. There may well be a couple who need more time but if so they’re certainly not showing it; not like those first couple of sessions where he came over from AAMI to Gosch’s and back again, alone. If not alone, with a staff member. He walked with his head down and you could cut the air with a knife so to speak. It’s no wonder he was nervous. It will be the same with fans I guess. I’m lucky in that I get to speak with him and that he now talks openly and from the heart. It’s gonna take some time to convince others in the DA who felt the way I did that he’s a changed man. But he’s worth every effort because he’s the bigger person now. It takes a special kind of human being to own his mistakes and strive to atone.
  25. If it’s hard, bring your mouthguard. If it splatters, bed-rest matters.
