This just happened… I was walking out of the Newmarket plaza having just made this week’s banner and a tall guy wearing a Melbourne cap walked past and said “Go Dees!” It was Majak. He took his cap off and put it on my head and told me to keep it. He said “Look, it’s got my number 28 on the back. I really want you to have it because you clearly love the Demons as much as I do.” He’s in a really good place currently. His adoring sister (who was with him) is his biggest fan and as he said, his rock. This is going straight to the poolroom. Well it would if I had a poolroom. The display cabinet in my lounge room will have to do.

I’m not sure. I buy it online every year from a company called Just Calendars. But it’s the same one that Coles sells in Jan/Feb every year and which is AFL approved.

I don’t mind their omission. They’ve been in it every year for years. I love the inclusion of the young brigade… Leb, X and the Bison. Kolt was in this year’s. My beef is that Melky has never featured. Unless we count the time I put a pic of him over the Grundy pic. 😅

He’s been a passionate Demon all his life. I’m not saying that makes him a better player but geez it doesn’t hurt. He doesn’t have to cultivate a red and blue heart, he’s always had one ❤️💙

That’s what YOU would do. That’s what many others would do. Just because it’s not what Tracc’s doing ie. he’s not saying anything, doesn’t make it wrong. We all think/act differently and we all have our reasons for how we think/act.

You as a Dees fan should know that him saying so is a veritable invitation for the media and sundry to set Brand Petracca in stone. We’d never hear the end of it. Edit: I just realised you were referring to Tracc publicly declaring his love for and commitment to the Club. I was replying to his aversion to the Brand Petracca label.

I love and respect both players, and for different reasons, but mainly for their honesty and willingness to show their vulnerability. They’re human beings just like everyone else. I don’t care what they’re being paid, it doesn’t alter the fact that they have feelings and can be hurt.

He’s done the only thing he can do which is to not encourage it and basically to ignore it. What else is he gonna do? Denounce it publicly? We all know that doing so would only serve to re-ignite the term.

I wish folks would stop comparing Tracc with Dangerfield. There’s so many variables to be factored in.

Where the term originated from (media or club) is debatable but it’s not the point I’m making, because regardless of who coined it, Tracc hates it and always did. I can only go by what he’s told me. As I’ve said before, in the absence of a polygraph machine, his word will have to suffice, for mine anyways. He hasn’t publicly come out and declared his love for and loyalty to the club á la Claz but he has in private to me, albeit eight months ago, and yes, I realise his feelings may have changed since then. FWIW, it was extremely heartfelt and he was quite emotional, especially when talking about his teammates.

I’ll say this every single time I read this type of comment… Tracc HATES the term ‘Brand Petracca.’ This term came from the media (iirc Damien Barrett) and at no point was it encouraged or embraced by Tracc or Bella or his family, ever. In fact, the term Brand Petracca makes Tracc sick. And angry. But what makes him angrier is when the term is attributed to him or someone in his camp.

Please don’t call him the Brand. That was coined by the media and Tracc hates it. Regardless of what you think of Tracc, he deserves the respect of Demons fans to stop perpetuating that horrid term.
