  1. Today’s puzzle… WHICH ONE OF MY SILKIES IS CURRENTLY MOULTING? 😁 PS: they love bananas so this isn’t off-topic
  2. CJ on the runway with commentary 😅
  3. We sit in Bay 105 Eastern, closest to Perth Stadium train station
  4. I don’t even know what our BBQ looks like. For the sake of all involved I don’t go anywhere near it. 🤭
  5. No. The sessions at Casey are always closed sessions.
  6. I would never wish playing a stinker or getting an injury on any player of ours and nor should you (you’ve put a pox on SpargyPants’ house more than once over the years, don’t deny it!)
  7. What more does Luker have to do to get a guernsey????
  8. Captain’s run at Gosch’s on Thursday beginning at 11am
  9. If you don’t find out beforehand, I’ll ask him on Thursday.
  10. 🥹 Bless
  11. Hey M, the poster was being sarcastic. 👍🏽
  12. This includes parking info… AFL Community Series In Ballarat
  13. This has nothing to do with the actual game but at the ground there was a heap of freebies from our sponsors/partners. Hertz’s contribution was a range of car stickers… We were given a stack of these to give to customers and some found the Gawny one distasteful. I don’t have a problem with it but it is something folks might feel is un-Melbourne like.
  14. Some typos are funnier than others. 😅
  15. I didn’t see much of the Casey match but Tommy Matthews was great in the short time I did get to see. He almost pulled off an incredible hanger (I read somewhere he actually completed the mark, but he didn’t, that is, it wasn’t paid). He was into everything, fearless and moved really well. His teammates seemed to look for him. I didn’t see much of “Ron” (Onley) but Richo said they were very pleased with his performance. I was told we’d need to free up a list spot for Tairon. My personal belief is that we’ve seen Maysie’s last game with us and he’ll be paid out for the year.
  16. I think it’s more of a titular thing. Maybe back in the day the captain fully ran the session but now that everything is so regimented and structured it’s no longer the case. Different players have different training schedules etc. If it was the captain who ran the show one would like to think a captain is sensible enough to not devise a training session that has the potential for injury. But then again, there’s James Sicily 😅
  17. Plus a $4.05 handling fee. I suspect the match has technically sold out. The reason being there is construction currently underway on the stands therefore there weren’t many tickets available in the first place.
  18. It’s a training session that is always on the day before gameday, regardless of what day of the week the match is played. They’re generally shorter than the regular sessions and the name comes from the fact that traditionally the captain decides what the session will entail.
  19. The #15 bus from Ballarat station takes you to the ground (5 stops).
  20. You’ll turn up to Gosch’s on Thursday and save me from those reprobates who think they’re our friends. 😝 Hashtag not all DL track-watchers are as cool as you and me. 😎 On a serious note though: Trigger alert: there may be a mention of soccer balls in the following… I’m curious to see what a captain’s run looks like this season. Previously they were out on the park for 20 minutes (half an hour on the rare occasion) playing soccer or just kicking soccer balls around and it was pretty much S&Gs with some token shots on goal at the end. Last year Troy Chaplin told me it’s not called a captain’s run for nothing and that Max dictates what’s to be done for the session. So it’ll be interesting to see how this one goes.
  21. … and made it look so easy! It’s an amazing feat and we’re lucky to have someone who can pull it off. Incidentally, is “uner pressute” French for under pressure? Never knew you were a polyglot 😁
  22. You lost me at “Thanks, AI”😅
  23. And this is my point, Macca. The club made sure there was no negative influence on the kids. I’m not saying they segregated them or wouldn’t let them engage at all with certain senior players but from what the parents have said the kids were educated if you will right from the outset.
  24. I’ve spoken separately to the parent/s of three of these boys about this because I wondered how they felt when their sons came to the basket-case that was Melbourne. I knew the players themselves were happy just to have been drafted but for mine the parents’ feelings were more telling. From the conversations we had and are still having* I can confidently say that the club couldn’t possibly have handled this any better than they did. And no, that’s not just me blindly defending the club. *I ran into Harvey’s parents and sister yesterday before the match. Mr and Mrs Bison are delighted with their baby Bison’s progress and continue to sing the praises of the club. They also LOVE the nickname Bison, and that’s because he loves it ❤️💙
  25. I only saw the end of this match so this isn’t a match report, it’s just two things I wanna point out. The match should’ve been called off halfway through the third last quarter. The light was so poor. The lights were on but they weren’t anywhere near adequate. Secondly, nobody needs to be told what sort of a captain Max is, we all know already so this comes as no surprise… he was there for the Casey game - as were some of the other senior players - but he would regularly come down to the bench to encourage the Casey boys and he stopped for fans to get selfies and signatures. He looked really tired but he indulged the fans nonetheless.
