  1. Liv and Fitzy definitely the best dribblers. Blaithin not too shabby either. Radar not so much 😅 She had everyone laughing at her comments just before kicking, stuff like “everyone cover your head, this could go anywhere!” And even warning the girls on the other side of the ground to watch out for wayward balls. But she never gave up, she practiced for ages. The goal kicking coach (idk his name) is absolutely awesome. He gives clear instructions and shows the girls how to correct/tweak their technique etc. He has a group of five or six at a time and doesn’t miss watching a single shot from any of them. Blaithin said likely not this Friday but she’ll know tonight. Grace B also said she’s maybe another week away. Molly also said she’ll know tonight if she’s playing, although she trained fully with the main group. Perhaps they’re being super cautious with her 🤷‍♀️ Thanks for pointing out our CEO’s HUGE mistake. I shall have a stern word with him on Friday 😁
  2. This isn’t about players we’ve drafted, Goody’s gameplan or DL happy clappers. This is simply about Tim Lamb being super excited about our young key forwards and I expressed my opinion about the reasons for why he is.
  3. Judd and Lily are still together. She’s staying with us. They’re gonna do the long distance relationship thing.
  4. 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊 ❤️💙 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊🎉🥳 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY! 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊 ❤️💙 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊🎉🥳
  5. I walked back to AAMI with our awesome coach, Mick. I said, “Mick, I have one request and one request only… please beat Essendon, PLEASE!” He smiled and said, “You dislike Essendon?” I said, “Dislike doesn’t come anywhere near it, even Hate isn’t strong enough.” He said last year’s loss to Essendon was particularly painful and at the team meeting this morning it’s what he used in his address to the players for motivation. He said he should’ve got me in there to express my feelings about Essendon. I said it wouldn’t be wise since most of our players would end up getting suspended with some even facing criminal charges. 😂
  6. Rehabbers: Lampy, Liv, Radar, Blaithin, Jacinta but… … not Molly. She’s playing in the match sim right now which is a surprise since she was on crutches less than a week ago. She has one layer of tape just below her knee, other than that she’s looking great. Lampy says she’s a couple of weeks away “fingers crossed.” Goal kicking practice now. Hanksy simply does not miss. Molly getting much praise from Paxy. A lot practising of dribblers from the boundary line… makes for very interesting watching 😅
  7. Boy, when you like something you reeeaaalllyy like it. You won’t rest ‘til we’re all binging clever dog videos. You’re like a dog with a bone (or a frisbee) 😅
  8. Why? Why wouldn’t he find them super exciting? He’s there watching and being involved in their development and has been from the outset. He (and the club) see/know things you don’t. Some players take longer to hit their straps but their potential is noted. Poor old Luker’s yet to even debut. If you can’t get even moderately excited about our young forwards then barracking for our team must suck for you.
  9. Spot on, Bobby. People seem to forget this quality of Clarrie’s. Their memory banks are brimful of the transgressions and there’s no room left for who Clarrie really is. His hunger has NEVER waned, even through the bad times. It’s in his DNA. Just because it may’ve seemed at times he’d lost it, doesn’t mean he had/has. One of the many things I love about Clarrie is his honesty, he couldn’t lie if his life depended on it. Therefore when he tells me he’s as determined as ever to be the best he can and this has ALWAYS been the case, I believe it.
  10. In case anyone is wondering, Disco was given his nickname by his grandmother. Apparently he has “two left feet” can’t dance to save his life so she starting calling him Disco. I like the cut of nan’s jib 😅
  11. The fact that he was given the #10 guernsey so soon after Gussy was forced to retire speaks volumes about how he’s regarded at the club. And he’s a worthy recipient of it. Disco takes his footy seriously. At every single training session he trains like he’s trying to get back into the side. He’s been like this since the beginning. Disco is a coach’s dream and this I know for sure since our former coach told me. He’s a lovely kid who is generally pretty serious and listening to him talk about how much he loves footy and his teammates is heartwarming to say the least. The boy can take a mark, too!
  12. The Benjamin Button of the MFC. A shining example of what hard work, dedication, professionalism and determination can achieve. Our young boys are lucky to be starting their careers alongside Melks. When he eventually hangs up the boots it would be great if he does so as a premiership player ❤️💙
  13. Not good, great! Ever since my delightful Colombian barista Alejandro shut up shop I’ve been getting a coffee at Richmond station which is fine once you get it past the gag reflex but is nothing like the coffee at the café near AAMI. They also make a mean lemon slice 😋
  14. You’re just spewing I’m not stalking you 😜
  15. Mick Stinear messaged a track watcher buddy of ours today Kev, saying the session is going ahead tomorrow at 10:40am at the AIA Centre. Regardless, I’m still gonna call the club beforehand.
  16. Call me a liar without actually calling me a liar. The café is outside AAMI, Kolt was working out at the AAMI gym, I was on my way to watch the girls train at the AIA Centre which is next door to AAMI, I popped into the café to get a takeaway coffee, Kolt came into the café, we chatted just like we do at Gosch’s and he mentioned the Judd announcement. Why is this so hard to believe?
  17. Only those in the room during his exit interview would know for sure if this is what transpired. BTW, and this isn’t directed at you whatsoever O.F., I mentioned I ran into Kolt at a café and it sucks that anyone would now use that to have a dig at him. He was taking a break from a voluntary gym session. He’s allowed to do that, right?
  18. 100% He was wearing the Melbourne cap (which is now mine coz Maj and his sister Jakky don’t take no for an answer), and he spoke fondly about his time with us despite not having played a seniors game. He said he’s a Demons supporter and always will be and that the club “took great care” of him. He didn’t mention North at all. He was genuinely delighted to have run into such a nuffie Dees fan, true story 😃 and was moved by my initial reaction upon realising who he was, which was tears welling, of course 🙄 When we parted Jakky ran back to tell me how special the meeting was and that it made Maj happy therefore she was happy. Edit: was originally gonna enshrine the cap but why let it sit and collect dust? It’s a little old and worse for wear but I wear it proudly coz Majak ❤️💙
  19. 🤔 I don’t understand what you mean. Tom’s future has nothing to do with Judd.
  20. Is the ship really sinking though? It may’ve been letting in a lot of water these past couple of years but I feel like it’s steadying now and will remain afloat.
  21. I understand, but it’s the opposite for me. I never liked him in the past and it’s only been this year that I’ve grown to like him a lot. That devastating injury changed him as a person. Anyways, as everyone else has said, we only want players whose hearts are fully with and for us. This translates onto the field so it matters greatly.
  22. It’s sure gonna hurt to see Tracc in a different jumper.
  23. Yesterday I also ran into Cream. We chatted for a bit then when saying goodbye he said, “I’ll see you at the matches next year.” Make of that what you will, fellow-DLers 🤔
