  1. All good, 58er. No harm in posting match info on here. 🙂
  2. It didn’t matter anyways. A hugely disappointing turnout means not much was sold by any of the vendors. We weren’t allowed to put on a BBQ because the Casey Canteen didn’t want us as competition. Turns out that at the end of the event they were forced to give away a heap of unsold hot and/or perishable food for free. Pies, pasties, sausage rolls, dim sims, hot chips, salad rolls and more, all destined for the bin. The crowd was so small it wasn’t just disappointing, it was embarrassing. Why it wasn’t scheduled for a Saturday or Sunday arvo is beyond me. The only winner is my teenage son who gets to live on Harvest Snaps chips, salad rolls, sausage rolls and spinach/ricotta pastries instead of the usual sausages. 😜
  3. Heartbreaking. The look on his face as he came off the ground 💔 😢 He already knew it was a significant injury.
  4. Roy George and Ricky Mentha have gone with Maysie and Koz to WA.
  5. I’ve been here for 45 mins (force of habit, a couple of us got here at the same time we would were we putting on a sausage sizzle) Apart from MFC staff, vendors and security staff there’s literally no one here. The Mr Whippy lady was told to expect 2,500 people, so for her sake I hope once the school day finishes there’ll be a flood of people through the gates. This is what’s on offer from the Casey canteen:
  6. I can’t say where it came from but one place I believe it didn’t come from is Tracc. If someone spills their guts like this, passionate and nonstop, why would they insert a lie amongst all the brutally honest talk? It’s not like we asked him about it, like I said, he spoke the entire time, me and H just stood there in shocked silence waiting for The Twilight Zone music to play. 😳
  7. Saturday Feb 22nd at 11am followed by Casey vs North praccy at 2pm. It would be great for folks to stick around for the Casey match if possible. 👍🏽
  8. Definitely public transport. The ground is basically on a main road and parking is very difficult to get. There’s South Kensington train station and North Melbourne train station with Arden St kinda in the middle.
  9. File this under “don’t believe everything you read in the media”
  10. If he does try to jump ship at the end of the season, so be it. No one is irreplaceable. But I guarantee you this: while he’s in red and blue he will give us his all, and some. He’s nothing if not professional. He has the hunger just as much as every other player.
  11. Hey GS, I well and truly hear you. I too was filthy on him and swore I’d never forgive him. But then on his first day back at training, after the session, he spoke with me and a friend (H) for 20-25 mins during which time Tracc vented and H and I just listened. It was raw and honest and heartfelt and most of all… unexpected. The chat only ended when I said we had to go. H and I walked towards Richmond station in stunned silence, the silence eventually broke with H saying, “what just happened? What the actual [censored] just happened???” He was saying what we were both thinking We were both rapt that each other was there at the time since it was so much to process and we ended up debriefing at the station for a good half hour. I was so rattled I left my phone on a bench, then ended up on the wrong train. Please believe me when I say Tracc has learned from the experience, he sees things differently now, he’s been humbled and he is 100% committed to our Club. And mind you, this is coming from someone who never liked him in the first place. (Ugh having ‘Nam flashbacks to long before this incident when I shared on here that I didn’t like Tracc and was tarred & feathered for it.) Anyways, if it doesn’t happen beforehand, you’ll forgive him when you see him out on park.
  12. If it’s any consolation Shane actually likes “Smacca” but that counts for nothing because it’s not up to the player to give himself a nickname, and once they are given a nickname, it’s set in stone. Soz DD 😭

  14. Tomorrow’s open training at Casey is Part One of the Family Day series which replaces the traditional Family Day. There’ll be “a bit of everything” according to our property stewards, including a match sim comprising four quarters, each of about 12-15 minutes in length. Kozzie and Maysie won’t be there because they fly out tonight for the Indigenous all-stars match which is scheduled for Saturday. Training tomorrow begins at 3pm and finishes at 6pm. Then there’s half an hour of player engagement: selfies and autographs, etc. There’ll be fun stuff for kids to do, partner giveaways (no, not an opportunity to give the missus to someone else, just freebies) and food/coffee vans. Unfortunately, no sausage sizzle on this occasion but the DA will have a merch tent set up. Not many can make it there because 3pm on a non-school holidays Friday, but I’ll be there so feel free to come say hello. I’ll be the one in red and blue (DA joke that’s never not funny, to us anyways) ❤️💙
  15. I’m not allowed to say, DeeZone. The player in question hasn’t publicly announced the impending birth (which is due in seven weeks or so).
  16. Omfg am I being pranked? Cannot believe how big a deal this has become. AT FIRST THEY WERE FLANKING HIM HOLDING HIS ELBOWS. AS THEY NEARED THE BOUNDARY THEY PUT HIS ARMS AROUND THEIR SHOULDERS. Not gonna repeat this again. Three times is two times too many. In fact not gonna post for a while. [censored] if I’m gonna let anyone insult me when I’m trying my best to relay things as they’re happening while there’s so much else going on. So go ahead and doubt anything or even everything I say. GW out.
  17. Really? REALLY?!!! God I hope you’re joking but even if you are joking, it’s not funny. I said he was helped off the field… HELPED not CARRIED. The pics you went to the trouble of posting show exactly that… he was HELPED not CARRIED. Moreover, within a few minutes of these pics being taken he was walking unaided and clearly not in as much pain. So I’m either “blind” or have chosen to “share misinformation,” yeah? Wow. Would expect it from certain others, so disappointed to hear it from you. Right now I’m asking myself why I even bother to post on here.
  18. Yeah I meant for most of the walk. As they neared the boundary the Doc and the physio got under his arms. Point is, he was walking.
  19. That’s NOT being carried off. As our medical update says, he was helped off. Big difference
  20. Hmmmm lemme think abou… HELL NO!!! The young guys have the schittiest taste in music and they’re always the ones that select it, but it’s because the older guys don’t care what’s being played.
  21. I know. Binman will be disappointed. I said I’d let this kind of comment go through to Alex Carey 😭 Cheers for the reminder
  22. You think he was faking it? I heard Jacob our Doc asking him a bunch of questions, I heard Shane insist he was fine to go back out, I heard Jacob decide otherwise. I saw Jacob walk him back to the rooms. As he passed by he said, “It’s okay, it’s not an injury, I’m just a bit crook” and he patted his stomach. Maybe the poor bugger reads DL and knows I’ll be on here defending him to the likes of you, PF.
  23. Definitely my favourite thing about today’s session was Charles Spargo. It seems like a lifetime since we’ve seen him without shackles and today’s performance was a huge reminder of what we’ve been missing for 12 months. It was soooo good to see Charles doing Charles things.
  24. Next it’ll be an ambo came lights and sirens to rush him to the hospital where he’s now clinging to life.
