  1. You can walk around inside the ground 👍🏽
  2. Yep the eyesore that is the CFC monstrosity of a building is something no one should be made to look at for more than a couple of seconds 😁
  3. The DA will be in the Gardiner stand, the one with the ancient wooden benches. All good. A few splinters in the bum never killed anyone, that I know of anyways. GO THE MIGHTY DEES… GIVE ‘EM HELL!!!
  4. ❤️💙GAMEDAY!!!❤️💙 We’re in a [censored] Prelim!! Yesterday at Gosch’s there was an air of quiet confidence. No one’s getting ahead of themselves, they’re all grounded and are well aware of the gravity of the task ahead. Among his many talents Mick is skilled at keeping them from being overwhelmed on an occasion like this* I hung out with the girls in the tent before they started training and I couldn’t have been prouder of them. They’re so mature and so united and the overriding feeling was, in a word… BELIEF These players genuinely believe they can get the job done. It’s so good to see and hear. *Then at the other end of the scale is the DA. 100 Mick Stinears couldn’t quell the manic excitement of us nut-jobs 😁
  5. Me again. I’m probably well and truly annoying most everyone, I’m even annoying myself 😅 Tomorrow is HUGE for our awesome team. We (cheer squad) will be out in full force tomorrow; loud and proud with a saturation of red and blue. We’ll give our girls a great display of love and support, but… We need help. We can’t do it on our own. We need as many supporters there as possible to help us. WE NEED YOU! Pleeease come to Ikon tomorrow afternoon (sunny and 24 degrees!) and cheer our incredible team on! Do it for our club! Do it for the pride of the jumper. Do it for a team of hardworking, passionate players who play for your club. Just do it!!!! SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!
  6. This is yet to be confirmed, Kat. That poll we took showed the Heroes Stand to be the overwhelming favourite of the two but Mitch said we won’t decide for sure until the early crew get into the ground, the question being whether the players’ bench obscures our view. The stands are close together so folks will find us easily. PS I’m with you… the Gardiner Stand is less favourable because it has those old wooden benches and nobody likes a bum full of splinters while watching the footy 🤣
  7. The rugby field was in use already. I had to leave at 11:30 and by that stage the W weren’t even in full swing yet. The boys are in week two of preseason without the entire squad present. Moreover, they started at least 20 minutes before schedule. The stark difference between the men’s training in the past and training this year is great but not when it’s at the expense of a team on the eve of a prelim.
  8. This was unacceptable. The W have a preliminary final to play tomorrow and they were shunted to the side. It was more than 10-15 minutes of disruption. The boys were scheduled for an 8:45am start with a 10:30am finish at which time the girls were scheduled to begin. The boys were still out there at 11am. I can tell you the W players and coaches were (understandably) not impressed.
  9. Oh, it was something I’ll always remember. Before we parted ways he sincerely thanked me for listening. He didn’t need to though, I really enjoyed his stories and equally as much enjoyed seeing how happy it made him to share them. Here’s the embarrassing part though… he told me it was an honour to meet me because he’s seen me on TV a bit. What could I possibly say to that? I was literally speechless. So we took a selfie together and everything seemed normal again 😄
  10. Oh, he’s in the man group alright. 😉
  11. I’m not convinced Maevo will hit the park tomorrow. She said she’s good to go but there was a sense of doubt in her demeanour, a very faint sense of doubt but I definitely felt it. I felt the opposite with Denby. She said she understood that decisions have to be made etc. but her vibe was one of hope and optimism, something the young players have trouble hiding 🥹 Wouldn’t be surprised to see her in for Maeve as a late out.
  12. I watched the men’s and the women’s training which was great but the highlight of the day was meeting a lovely 95yo gentleman. He told me some of his favourite memories of his many years as a passionate Dees supporter, including Fred Fanning’s 18-goal bag which he saw live. I listened to him for quite a while and it was heartwarming to see his face light up with each memory. It was really special. Turns out his name is Geoff Ponsford and he’s the son of Bill Ponsford. It was such an honour to meet him.
  13. Sigh. I just knew someone would take me to task for this. Didn’t expect it to be you, though. I relayed exactly what Wheels told me. Any doubts or questions should be directed his way.
  14. Anyone who lives in that part of Vic can make their way to training. Days and times are TBC and idk the location because the person with whom I was speaking doesn’t know either. He said he just gets on the bus and is taken there. I’m thinking there can’t be too many grounds in Bright, surely.
  15. Wheels told me this interesting story… JT encouraged everyone to believe that Latrelle would be a later pick, knowing all along we were gonna take him early. He had heard Essendon were considering taking him with a later pick. When we took XT with pick 11, Essendon and GWS and whoever else was interested thought that we mustn’t be that keen on Latrelle or we would’ve taken him at the first opportunity. Essendon then thought cool we’ll get him instead. Then the JT hammer came down on everyone and we took Latrelle. The funny part is that wheels and Kozzie had to hide in the carpark until just before the Latrelle pick was announced because anyone catching sight of Kozzie would’ve been sus as to why he was there. Wheels said the AFL helped our club out by agreeing to not list Kozzie as a jumper presenter (again, dead giveaway) and facilitated the sneaking in of Kozzie unnoticed. I mean, I knew JT was a wizard but this is next level!
  16. Latrelle is back in Adelaide packing his stuff to move to Melbourne. Wheels said to look out! He’s loud and confident and get this.. they’re counting on Latrelle to bring Kozzie out of his shell!!! Wheels said they’re perfect together because Koz will “keep Trelly in line” and Trelly will get Koz to “lighten up some”
  17. JT, though. Aka Cheshire Cat. He’s so relaxed and content. He said we were always getting Trelly and he doesn’t know why everyone’s making such a deal of it. Cheeky bugger. I’ve never seen him smile so much. Trelly’s not here but just hearing Koz talk about him is enough for me. Koz is absolutely stoked. He’s walking on flippin air.
  18. Ricky Mentha has a mild hamstring niggle as well as a mild achilles niggle. I told him he needs to soak in a Radox bath and he looked at me like I’d sprouted a second head.
  19. And some slightly unhinged cheer squad nuffie met him before any of the players did. He got a warm welcome hug from her and now he’s probs questioning the draft results 😅
  20. Sounds too much like Kozzie. When we adoringly chant for a player like the psychos we are we’d prefer folks to know for whom we chant 😜 I can hear us now… TRELLY TRELLY TRELLY OI OI OI
  21. Watch them bring the heat again this weekend!!!
  22. Yeah, I’m sad for Dingo and GG but someone had to go 😕
  23. You have a hearing problem? I’ll turn up the volume for you… TRELLY
  24. Delighted with Maevo’s return!
