AFLW: Rd 09 vs Fremantle
I’ve always liked Harpies because I thought they were cool (head of a woman on the body of a bird, and I’m an ornithophile). But I just wiki’d Harpies and while some aspects of them aren’t palatable but can pass muster (just) this one is a dealbreaker…

AFLW: Rd 09 vs Fremantle
This is right up my alley! I’ll be at a player-sponsor function this Tuesday with all W players attending. My goal will be to get around to at least half of them, and the remaining players I’ll poll at training 😁

AFLW: Rd 09 vs Fremantle
Great point, DiaK. I think last week’s match won’t impact us as it did Essendon last night given we were the tacklers and not the tacklees, if you will. Last night’s match was a hard watch. Essendon looked slow and worn out and only got worse in this respect as the game went on. I mean, I hate Essendon as much as the next person but I actually felt sorry for them* Yesterday’s training session said Fear not, Dees devotees, we’ve pulled up just fine *for about five minutes then I went back to hating them having come my senses.

Sorry, FND. Radar is Saraid Taylor 😊

AFLW TRAINING: Friday 10th October 2025
Heater was there. She didn’t train with the main group but she participated in drills that don’t include hands. She’s in great spirits and was encouraging the others, especially the other rehabbers. Forgot to mention Dingo (DT18) who trained really well. It will be great to see her back out there on Sunday.

Forgot to mention that this only applies to the W (of course)

AFLW TRAINING: Friday 10th October 2025
Liv one-on-one rehab, walking on her heels then jogging on the balls of her feet. She then had short kicks practice. Radar sprinting at top speed then coming to an abrupt stop without slowing at all. Blaithin running and being sternly forewarned to not sprint… cheeky B 🙂 Lampy also running… a lot. Her enthusiasm and positivity is infectious. Her smile could solve all the world’s problems. The match sim was full-on. Riggers Jnr and GC in particular super impressive. Also my girl LJ33 but maybe I’m just biased 😊 Edo came off visibly in terrible pain with a dislocated finger. They popped it back in, a couple of pain killers and she was back out there like it never even happened. Jacinta Hose (nickname José 😅) is coming along well, looking forward to seeing her on the park, she’s determined to get through rehab and can’t wait to debut (next season). Fun fact (except not fun at all): players on the injury list have to pay their own way to interstate games if they want to attend. That’s all I can report since I got there 45 minutes late coz trains 🙄 and I had to leave at the scheduled finish time of 1:30pm but the girls being the girls they didn’t look like finishing up anytime soon. Therefore I missed the entire goal-kicking session.

Anyone who’s attending this match and would like to enquire about being involved in the guard of honour etc., feel free to email the Demon Army: The Demon ArmyThe Demon ArmyThe Demon Army - The Official Cheer Squad of the Melbourne Football ClubFor prematch meetups etc. the Western Demons usually plan something; not sure if they are on this occasion.

And this mightn’t faze the majority of players. There are some however who can’t cope with the feeling of being not wanted. Sigh. If only we were all robots.

Yes I do think it’s unreasonable to link the two. I absolutely do think it’s unreasonable. I understand your point about entertaining what’s been reported in the media due to a lack of information that says otherwise. But it’s when folks not only blindly believe the media reports as gospel, but they come on here and disparage and insult the person about whom the media is reporting. It’s unfair that they’re making harsh judgments based only on what reporters are telling them. And as we all know, sensationalism/shock-value etc. is the reporters’ bread and butter.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I might say that… if I considered his movements a reaction to the meeting. But I don’t.
-
Farewell Clayton Oliver
Can you tell us what his reaction was? I don’t mean what was reported in the media, I mean what his real reaction was. None of us can, right? Sadly the majority of people choose to believe what the media is saying, yet again.

With respect, Bobby (because you deserve respect unlike others on here), how do you know what his reaction was? I was told last night by someone who’d know that Clarrie didn’t ‘storm out of the meeting’ he actually did leave in a hurry but only because he had a plane to catch. Him snapping at Mitch Cleary at the airport doesn’t necessarily mean he wasn’t happy with the details of the meeting, it’s likely the release of accumulated frustration that’s been mounting up and he’d reached the end of his tether. Clarrie is currently experiencing something that no one should have to go through. Mitch Cleary just happened to be the straw/camel etc.

Hey, OF :) I had to laugh at this asinine response to your question… “No, its to confirm that he's clearly not willing tochange up his role or spend time at Casey.” But it’s not the response per se, it’s the fact that he’s openly saying this, and is actually serious! 😂 So, Clarrie being on his break, on a boat in Sydney, means he’s not accepting a role change or a Casey gig. I feel like I’m in a Kafka novel The mind boggles

Dontchya know, NC… because Clarrie’s not already kitted up running around in the backline at Casey Fields, it’s patently obvious he won’t accept a role change/Casey gig. Never mind that he’d be alone out there since everyone else is on a break, the point is, how DARE he smile and laugh and enjoy fleeting respite from the horror fortnight he’s experiencing right now

Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
100% right! I can’t wait to meet Brody, he’ll be welcomed with open arms (quite literally 😁). He’s got a fan in me, that’s for sure. Just like you, I’m so glad he’s ours ❤️💙

You DO know the players are on a break right? Besides, he also doesn’t look like someone who suffered heartbreak and shock only 11 days ago in the form of the sudden and tragic loss of a family member, does he? You got a couple of cheap laughs with your Id!ot!c post so it was probably worth it for you. Edit: just realised I’m not done yet… you’ve wanted Clarrie gone for years. You’ve really got it in for him, disproportionately so. It’s borderline obsession. Others are down on him too, but you’re next level bitter. You’ve even PMd me in the past to try to explain why we should get rid of him, remember? Me, a poster you can’t stand, yet you took the time to do that. A word of advice, take it or leave it… if you don’t know a person and what they’ve been through and/or are going through, maybe you should err on the side of sensitivity

Farewell Clayton Oliver
But how do you know he wouldn’t accept playing in any other position? I personally believe he’d be open to changing roles. I also believe he’d even play for Casey if it came to that. Point is, he wants to remain a Demon above anything else. Imo the only “damage” done by King et al is how they’ve made Clarrie feel. They’ve obviously - and probably unintentionally - made him feel he’s not wanted. This may not affect other players to a great extent but it certainly does with Clarrie. This shouldn’t be dismissed nor even underestimated. What worries me is the timing of this: we no longer have Stephen Rendall (former club psychologist) and his position is still being advertised so we can only assume we don’t have anyone to replace him as yet. And of course we no longer have Goody, another integral part of Clarrie’s mental well-being.

AFLW: Rd 08 vs Essendon
I actually have discussed her choice of boyfriend with her. I said a “mixed marriage” is fine providing he’s not an Essendon or Collingwood player, the Doggies in comparison being ok. She said I should come and meet him after the match tonight and she’s sure I’ll like him coz he’s really nice. I forgot to do this so she only gets a pencilled-in pass mark, for now 😝

AFLW: Rd 08 vs Essendon
Yes it was difficult to see but I hid my inner turmoil while talking to her. Just as difficult an encounter was one I had with her sister Esme at Victoria Park. She was in black and white 😭 Ben and Hester were there not so much to support the Dees, but to support their close friend Sabrina Frederick, although BBB did come and hang with us for a quarter.

AFLW: Rd 08 vs Essendon
Fun fact: Molly O’s boyfriend was there tonight; he attends all of her matches. His name is Ryley Sanders and he happens to play for the Western Bulldogs 😃

Hester and their eldest daughter were there, the latter wearing an Essendon jumper 🥴 😭🙃

AFLW: Rd 08 vs Essendon
Not sure TR-A’B. But the players sing it way too fast for mine. Not just our teams but teams in general, the worst being Carlton players who rush through their song which has a slower tempo.

According to the club’s Twitter, Goldie is suffering “an illness” 🤷♀️ Not sure about Heater. She seemed to be experiencing pain but it doesn’t sound like anything serious 🤞🏽

Farewell Christian Petracca
The media reports? Yeah coz they’re ALWAYS accurate. Kozzie’s social media activity? As Roy George told me at the time, Kozzie loves “stirring the pot” and had no intention of leaving. He deliberately planted seeds of doubt basically for fun. Anyways I’m done repeating myself on this, especially when it’s currently not an issue. Believe what you want.
