Thanks GS, but I’d already made the wise decision to not engage in this discussion. I’m currently having a hard time dealing with elements of this forum, namely the bullying, which never fully goes away but at times is too much for me to handle. This is one such time.

You’ve not answered my question, though. I’ll reword it in case you don’t understand it… Would you be ok with footy commentary being blasted regularly throughout a concert? Even ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ will suffice. Pet hate: folks who dismiss a hypothetical question without sharing their reasons why and instead throw adjectives around with no substance; nonsensical, facetious, etc., to wit: WHY is my example not valid? Decorum? LOL. This has nothing to do with decorum. My example is perfectly valid. You know it is but aren’t about to admit it. Having to hear 30 seconds of music blasted regularly throughout a footy match is no different to having to hear 30 seconds of footy commentary blasted regularly throughout a concert. The question remains… how would you feel about it?

Moving the Demon Shop would be very unwise. Gameday is their busiest day by far. Yeah, folks can buy stuff online but many prefer to go to the shop to try stuff on or browse.

For the remainder of this week it’s training at Casey tomorrow and Friday, the boys have a day off on Thursday. Then there’s a captain’s run on Saturday morning at 11am at Gosch’s. Beyond this week… who knows? If reports are correct training will be at Waverley before the end of the month.

The club is getting with the times and trying to attract and keep young supporters??? Nah, the club is doing what the players have asked, playing goal celebration songs. I can’t imagine anyone, let alone the club, expecting this gesture to boost membership numbers. Your last sentence is not only disrespectful, it’s a sweeping generalisation. You think only young people enjoy music and old people don’t? Regardless of one’s age, not liking a song played after a goal doesn’t mean not liking music altogether. We have teenagers in the DA who don’t want the goal celebration songs; by your definition they’re dinosaurs. Nonsensical in the least.

That wasn’t TC, Kev. That was Dylan Roberton wearing TC’s #29. I know for sure it was Dylan because he sang My Way to BL16 and me (long story) while tying his bootlaces, wearing #29 Paddy’s #41 kit mustn’t be ready yet hence the no-number training top. It was great to see him there today, he’s so grateful.

Jim was a very proud Irishman. I’ve been labelled a music snob before. My usual response is I absolutely love disco music so I really don’t qualify as a snob. 😁

Riv said he forgets which song on his list was selected. They told him yesterday and he’s forgotten already. Oh well, he’ll always have his good looks. 😁 He said he’ll ask admin tomorrow and he’ll let me know at the captain’s run. I said understandably we probs won’t hear his song often. He said, he thinks we will because this year he’ll be playing midfield more. I said I hope so. He said he knows already because Kingy has told him. PS: Riv said if he ever had the honour of being offered the captaincy he’d take it in a heartbeat.

Checkers and Roo, though… won’t tell me their goal songs coz “you’ll just have to wait and see, it’s a surprise.” Roo said not to worry, we’ll be hearing their songs a lot on Sunday. I told them the other boys told me their songs and Checkers said yeah coz they’re defenders, their songs will never get played😅 One of the trainers told them they should tell me because I’m on “official cheer squad duty.” Roo said, “Nah, she’s gonna post them on Demonland” 🙃

That was last year in round one. It was the inaugural ”Jim’s Game” (inaugural and clearly the only one 🤷‍♀️). And I don’t wanna seem picky but that wasn’t Irish music. It’s a religious song called Lord Of The Dance and was written as an English carol by an English songwriter. NOT Irish by any stretch. Also, being picky again, those gals weren’t performing Irish dancing, nor were they wearing traditional Irish dancing attire. End of Karen outburst

Riv and Disco done for the day. Checkers and Roo, goal kicking practice under the guidance of Cub (Taylor Whitford). No S&Gs either. Serious goal kicking practice. They’re both slotting them very nicely indeed. It’s amazing how much more confident Roo is when he’s with Checkers.
