I don't think we can blame Lamb and his recruiting team as they operate on a just-in-need situation whilst endeavouring to look forward to upcoming future needs, BUT my point is that current needs at the time are the first to set in place. Lamb continues to be our best person for the job I believe. As for the current benchmark - we need a supportive Ruck for the aging Gawn plus we need forward driving power in the mid-size range. Overall, we have a good up-and-coming crop. Look for improvement in Jefferson.
  2. I think the deeper answer to your question is that we need to balance the need for inside mid needs against outside mids. As for Viney, he is not a forward-line player but a needed centre-line player.
  3. so why did you sign Fullerton ? I reckon we should have tried harder to keep Jackson.

You raise some good points: Firstly, I do not think the hunger is there as it was in 2021. To miss the Finals - someone needs to be accountable, and I feel an independent review may well just cover tracks that we already know need improvement, as you point out, and frankly, that is due to a somewhat a "stale" motivational atmosphere at the Club. Maybe it is time for other Coaches, Med staff, and some admin staff to hand over the reins to a new breed. I believe the player base is not that of a concern. The obvious improvement needs to come from better recruiting, a backup for the aging Gawn, and an improved forward structure - not to mention outside mids. Finally, losing Tracca and Oliver at crucial times made life harder.

I love the followers for Casey and the interchange too. Great players.
  6. Pert is part of the problem at the MFC. He is a person baked in his own self glory.
  7. We are talking Tom Morris for goodness sake. He is the last [censored] I would listen to.
  8. totally agree
  9. Interesting you gave Chandler the 6. McDonald has been a surprise this year and Tholstrop has come along nicely.
  10. Has nothing to do with my comments.
  11. Get off the coach's back. Look at what he had to use on the field tonight then you may understand why we lost.
  12. That is totally unfair, especially if you are a heart and soul Demon. In case you never knew we had six top-line players out last night and that above all else should be where we start when we analyze the end result. They tried. We were not good enough, end of story.
  13. Look, I understand your point but we had Tracca, Oliver, May, Lever, Sparrow out.. Poor Viney tagged and hugged so it was hard to feel a win when you have so many out. Plenty of players well below AFL standard. Frankly I would never had played Tomlinson. Hope he finds another VFL club to play for. (sooner rather than later)
  14. Is there a dead rubber premiership cup?
  15. Nooo Noooo stay for McDonald, Verrall, Monitz- Wakefield and Hore. Heck you have delisted 30% OF OUR 2024 LIST.
  16. Thankyou for your comments, as a supporter, I hate seeing all these other negative comments in this thread. Heck the man gave exceptional service at a time when it was needed back in 2014
  17. Hmmm.. that's a possibility... I will take $1: to $1,000 against it happening. any takers?
  18. Lot of work went into that summary. well said...... but surely T.Mc has one more year ? I would try to offload some others such as Spargo. Billings and McAdam. They are limited senior players as you say.
  19. That's just a circular discussion that does not resolve either party. Look, the guy is not 21.. He has ten years of service, surely there is a life after playing in which he could spin this yarn in the not-too-distant future.
  20. Sorry, the bigger picture prevails in my mind. He signed a new CLUB approved contract in 2023.. Are you telling me he never thought of his current reasoning about his views now.? I would sit down with him and his family and seek a deliverance whereby, at the end of his playing days, it is time to move to S.A. I thought a pregnancy lasted nine months.... Maybe I am wrong on that.....
  21. I think the overall view here on this thread is that we need 100% loyalty at the club; having others resign is a step in the right direction, however, when there is one player rocking the boat, it is not a good sign. Maybe there are others that will see a way out - Tracca, Viney et el.
  22. I've got a good idea... Let's recruit a guy by the name of J. Hogan playing for GWS. Does anyone know much about him - or his history?
