  1. ??? I'm a dummy spitter? Really? As with many of your posts lately - I find an issue with your logic. Where does the 66% measure come from? Where does the importance of that number originate? Why are we so confident of beating the Premiers? Because we 'match up well?' We'll see... And I have a high horse, not a dummy...
  2. How can anyone argue with that science?
  3. I guess the club is willing to take on $1.8m debt if it gets the $9m asset. Will be interesting. I guess the best way forward for all concerned would be to get a more modern venue nearby to appease members, still have room for the pokies, and sell the land through whichever method is most profitable (subdivision, seeling as a block, etc). If all goes according to plan - we get a large asset, don't lose a great amount on it, and get to be in control of profitable enterprise. It's at this point I say that I disagree with The Whitlams...
  4. They're not our management.
  5. Nah, we can keep it open. If anyone is worried, come on here and I will make them feel better about themselves and their clubs ability to keep our best players. It's a community service really.
  6. This is nonsense. The syndrome once again. We keep our best players, and I expect him to stay and he will stay.
  7. Top 4? Bailey to be sacked if we don't make the finals? Get real, people. We have lost over 600 games worth of experience and have become younger for the 4th consecutive year. You're getting ahead of yourselves. But, rpfc, you've got to have high expectations?!!! Yeah, hopefully grounded in reality.
  8. Get a grip. He will sign for the MFC in good time. We are above petty ultimatums.
  9. I very much doubt that.
  10. We're probably in parallel arguments. I want to move the ball quickly. That's great. Hooray. I do not want to have a bloke on the boundary line at half back forced to kick down the line because we have a blanket rule against kicking backwards. It is nothing football, it is safe football, and the MFC is above that. I don't care if your name is Aaron or Clint - if you are in a Melbourne jumper, you trust your skills and not just pump the ball down the line.
  11. Good work by the mods. One thing though, some posts have the post they are replying to changed leading to confusion (BBis a good example on this page). Just something to keep in the back of the mind.
  12. No, but it has hit the point where grown men can abuse someone (not using it as a legal term) and think of their own public perception without thinking of the 16 girl they gangf..ked, they girl one got pregnant, the girl who lost her foetus, the girl who has been abandoned by her parents, the girl who was abused (using the legal term now) by a policeman who was supposed to be taking care of her, and preyed on by the manager of those players that gangf..ked her. Yeah, your society is way better...
  13. I would say your 'deserving people' wouldn't have 'grave fears' surround them. This is a girl, who at the age of 15/16 lost her way and got zero help from those around her who thought of their own public-perception rather than helping someone through a myriad of personal disasters that no girl/woman should go through alone.
  14. Both WB and Geelong wore clash strips in their game. We will stay in white I would wager. I don't care. As long as we are wearing R&B in all home games during the actual season.
  15. Has someone hacked your account?! Fevola has been blacklisted by the football gods. He is not meant to win a flag. We will steer clear. These are not the droids you are looking for.
  16. Speaking of which... Has someone hacked into your Land account these past few weeks?
  17. He's a role player. Half a Premiership winning team is. This isn't the Premier League. Teams cannot cultivate talent in all positions due to the salary cap. He's young enough if he's good enough.
  18. ? ? You understand? But my view(?) is flawed is it not? And I didn't know you have to kick it to the forward line, didn't I? I completely agree. That is why when we are hemmed up against the boundary line I like to see my players have some confidence in their kicking and their ability and go backwards into the middle and try and go through the guts. And the passive aggressiveness is back... Yeah, I have no confidence in my team, but I would like them to trust their kicking and play with boldness... We don't have the greatest kicks in the backline, and on that I agree, but I would still prefer them to play the gameplan, and attempt those kicks that they occassionally screw up so that we can get the ball into the middle of the ground and take it through the guts. As an aside, the dearth of decent kicks will mean Davey will spend time there getting us moving.
  19. Collingwood have got an extremely good press. And when all St Kilda have is a high pressing CHF and nothing else it makes it difficult to move the footy - all you have to do is block their run and get around Riewoldt and say 'go ahead, kick it to Kossie.' And the St Kilda players rightly said 'nah.'
  20. You cannot kick into the forward line from half back. We have an exciting gameplan. What I am saying is that when Grimes or Batram or Rivers kick backwards-across goal-sideways, they are trying to open the field up to play that running attacking game off halfback and through the centre. It is necessary at times, and much 'braver' than pumping it down the boundary line to a 50-50 on centre-wing.. And it is instruction.
  21. It's more a forced, defensive yawn. And they do not want Hunt to do well, at all. They are so convinced he will fail that if he doesn't the northern states will see hyperventilation in apocalyptic measure. They see it as an existential threat, really. It's a little bit pathetic... Not as pathetic as Craig Foster's "I think rubbishing the passions of AFL and NRL supporters will win them over to the A-League" dogma of late. Who does that orange-faced bloke think he is? Anyway...
  22. You best get used to us kicking backwards and sideways across half back - it is apart of the 'switch' of play which is a cornerstone of modern football. Kicking forwards along the boundary line generally reduces the amount of direct turnovers but it is a 'safe' option that coaches hate. We are a daring, corridor-centric footy team and that means sometimes our players are going give it up trying to get that footy through the middle or over to the 'fat' side. I applaud the boldness, really.
  23. Well, the world is a small one - Tom has moved into an apartment in the south eastern suburb (my old suburb) in Melbourne. Good possie too. About 30 mins along the freeway to Casey and 20 mins to the city. Apparently with another girl, I would say sister. So I guess I can corroborate part of what another poster said earlier. This doesn't mean 'he is going nowhere' but it is interesting to note that if someone was to have already signed (as a few on here contend) then they would most likely stay at home until they go north, rather than move twice in 10 months. Because if there is one immutable truth, it is that moving sucks...
  24. Gotta pay someone.
  25. Had an event once with swearing, vulgar stories, and many in the crowd uneasy about the situation. The footballer in question? Tony Abbott.
