  1. Our backline was the land the skills forgot tonight and Grimes was easily the best of an overworked backline.
  2. Garland was poor, and yet he was still better than Warnock. He is a Key Defender for the Dees because we have to use him as a KD. And everyone knows he is very good at what he does. Unbelievable. The first loss in a NAB Cup game. A bit trigger happy, JCB? Looking to much to win an argument you have already lost?
  3. I think the directive would have stipulated the players not discuss it at the lengths they have. Trengove talked to Adelaide media - could have palmed them off easily. Watts was doing a Watts-centric piece - again, he could have palmed the questions off. I appreciate their candidness but I think it is better not to stoke the ashes.
  4. Agreed. There is a difference between saying you don't take losses hard and not taking losses hard. He will have sleepless Sunday nights just like the rest of us.
  5. Leave him alone. He's allowed to go over the top this week, he is writing a op-ed to answer that awful Phelan article on AFL.com.
  6. Yes, I think there should have been a directive from Cameron aor Dean that said 'if you get asked about it, just give platitudes and move on quickly.' I guess that's a hard directive to give to the group when the group contains the subject of the directive.
  7. Give them the money issue. It's neccessary that they start with more money to attract players that only has kids and 'fans in theory.'
  8. We're just trying to keep up the brand. Who is dying to see the red and blue in this awful comp?
  9. The argument "Fev needs football" isn't an argument for his return, it's an argument against it. Range Rover is right - football isn't everything (it evidently wasn't everything to Brendan anyway so it should be an easy transition). AFL football was an enabler for this boozehound, TAB-addicted, [censored]. It gave him two things he couldn't handle - money and fame. He might find he becomes a better person if he simplifies his life - he's got kids FCS. He needs to grow up, and footy is not helping.
  10. Maybe. It's arguable, as Deestroy All has illustrated. What isn't in question is that any 'club' is worse off with Fev in it. I don't want him hanging around our kids. He is a terrible influence and a massive distraction. We should politely say to Casey - No.
  11. All excellent points. Disagree with this one. Not Murphy so much, but Ablett has played footy for 9 years, his future value is not as high as Murphy and/or Scully. Yes, they get the best player in the game. But for how long? Scully's future value is potential at this minute, but he is a generational talent that - from this point forward, looks to offer more to the AFL than Gary Ablett(Please note I said "from this point forward"). I think that is an important consideration in the unlikely event of Tom leaving, or any young talent.
  12. Going to uni means less time on your hands? I think you're doing it wrong...
  13. Not necessarily, your draft can be until Rd 1 I believe. You might have to start your own thread though, that may be the imapasse.
  14. I'm not going to get into the fact that that won't work after Rd 2 but instead complain that my avatar and signature is the IP of rpfc and on-one else is welcome to it. That is all.
  15. Fine. I can always fall back onto my love of facetiousness. Or self-righteousness! No-one does that better than I...
  16. It's the NAB Cup... Save your ire for the real stuff.
  17. the russian is right. When does the boy become a man? When are his mistakes his own? When does someone move on from a spotlight they can't handle? Brendan needs to find something other than football to make his life worthwhile.
  18. I think it is strange that the implication of this piece is that if a player is in a situation such as Tom - no-one at the club can talk to him lest it be "on conversation about his future." I'm sure they would talked about the rumours, but can't the heart and soul of the club - with a backgound in counselling youth - talk to/support a 19 year old who has been the target of some innuendo and resulting vitriol? Mike is a Melbourne supporter deep down and losing his sh!t like a few on here.
  19. I would say that is your impression. Any latitude from Harrison? Especially when you constantly doubt them.
  20. Cam is being facetious. He is in management. Happens to have a Demon father.
  21. I just hope I do the after match press conference before Dappa Dan... I'll never leave the stadium otherwise...
  22. Ibso facto - Melbourne will win the flag... I would say that Collingwood became "clearly a better side" from QB last year when they became the best side in the game and won the flag.
  23. "People happened to interested in Scully you know." Hardly, my baby. I just don't like the way this 19 year old is being portrayed and betrayed by supporters and some posters. I have never claimed (outside of the fact that Tom has recently moved into an apartment in East Malvern) to know anything more than anyone else. I only claim a little more faith than those that - in the face of the same non-knowledge - are convinced their club cannot compete in keeping their own players.
  24. How is the scoring done? Similar to DT or SC?
  25. He didn't say that. Our resident chicken little ADC has intimated once again that his knee soreness is a ruse and there is some sort of rift between Tom and the club. Jnr Mac is like the rest of us - happy to chat about Tom but sick of the same baseless Scully-to-GWS rubbish that keeps popping up on a Demon forum.
