  1. We have over $20m in the bank from the sale of the Bentleigh club so $500k is not going to suddenly mean anything. And no, we want a training base the way everyone else gets one - from the taxpayer.
  2. Win next week and it’s a (possible) home GF for Dees fans to reel out the excuses!
  3. Yeah, massive drug issue. Spent time at Sam Quentin for running a Bolivian junta in 2012. US Marshalls still looking for him. I have mentioned this before…
  4. I know everyone hearts in the right place but… AFLW coaching and admin is a career in-and-of-itself; no one needs to ‘progress’ to a men’s program if they don’t want that shift. AFLM is where Daisy is at the moment - unless she wants to shift back to AFLW there is no need for her to use that as a ‘stepping stone’ to progression in the men’s game.
  5. Yes, but there are many who are happy to pin the failures of the men upon those that should also get the plaudits of our women’s program. So while I agree that lumping them together is misleading, so are those that want to pick and choose what the club stands for.
  6. The Pies would have to win by 100s points both games. It’s over. Put the $1m in a managed fund. It’s done. Thanks to the girls!
  7. Don’t know about that last line; rain, hail, shine, inner city location, whatever - Dees supporters are not showing up. Haven’t met an excuse we haven’t loved us Dees fans.
  8. The club needs to figure out why right now. It’s absolutely appalling for this team to not have the Demon faithful there. And I won’t listen to anymore excuses about ‘Cwasey is swo fwar awway’ - if you can’t make it to Princes Park for a short Saturday night. Forget the slightly down crowds for our underperforming and boring men’s team - this is is an absolute disgrace. But maybe it’s the culture of the Dees fans; we don’t want to watch it? We don’t even let topics on the main board about the women’s team… Maybe we just don’t give a [censored]?
  9. Forget about points for deals like this. No one is trying to get a FS or academy player. We want the best player in the draft - the points don’t come Into it at all. At all.
  10. I think Warner will write that it was actually this young man’s time and that Goodwin shouldn’t be getting in the way of the natural order of things. HEADLINE ’Goodwin plays god - should he decide who lives and dies?’
  11. Just a bit, now that Freo loss will hurt even more. The girls need to take care of business this weekend first.
  12. To me, ND3 is like a Merlot. I did not do all that death riding and trading for a Merlot.
  13. Different roles I would think, but you’re right about being given the chance. He has a chance to unseat the following in my mind; Hunter on a wing, or Chandler’s role as that ‘speed forward’ that gets up the ground and releases forward quickly when we turn it over.
  14. The ‘afl trading world’ thankfully does not define value of trades through the points system. It is a mechanism to allocate F/S and academy players and applying it any broader than that is asinine.
  15. They had better structure in contests - less bees to a honey pot and more on the outside ready to take the ball and distribute. That’s what they didn’t have agains the Crows. We look better when we hunt; we are the best and the best get hunted but that doesn’t mean you can’t hunt the ball and the woman in each contest and win moments. Wilson and Gillard were amazing. 22 and 20 - so impressive.
  16. Who are these kids to select? I don’t know our board - You don’t reach even one position with picks in the top half dozen. Maybe we will trade for someone next year? Having another kid in a KP is not going to help us in 2024 so take the best available.
  17. Trade in if that’s the case. They’re kids. Take who is next on your board
  18. Drafting for position is a very bad strategy; especially considering they are kids. Our flag was won with 3 traded in Key Position players; only TMac being a recruit from long ago. Also Petty has a contract.
  19. I reckon the Crows are still salty about Lever - the way the are talking about Petty even after trade period. Their recruiting bloke was still banging on about ‘Petty wanting to come home at some point.’ Whatever.
  20. But we have 34 contracted for next year. 38 max list spots. We have promised Melksham a contract but it could be the RL. So we have 4 possible list spots for the ND.
  21. I count 34 with Turner upgraded and Melksham unsigned. That’s why we have 4 picks listed in all these ‘what clubs have’ articles. We have 4 spots to fill and it will either be: ND6, 11, 42 and Brown with Melksham to RL. ND6, 11, and Brown with Melksham retained. ND1, 42, and Brown with Melksham retained. ND1, 42, extra late pick from Eagles, and Brown with Melksham to RL. You’re welcome.
  22. If that is true - then there really is no downside to this trade. If it works and his a contributor, that’s great. I don’t see it personally but people surprise you and there is no risk. We rarely use late picks these days.
  23. There are infinite picks and rounds depending on how many list spots a team has to fill
  24. He needs to play fwd of centre or wing. Good depth.
