I would like a similar statement from Schwab or Craig (although Craig touched a little bit in the interviews he has done). The org structure was a slight source of amuse/bemuse-ment until JCB said that there is a org chart at AAMI stipulating this nonsense. It's not a massive issue but I just hope that Cam is ready to accept it when Mark tells him to get out of the rooms, Neil to step in line on match day, etc. Mark Neeld is the man.

Yes, it's rare now for a poster to keep one moniker... Odd.
-
No. Yes. Samsara - you might be confused with the GWS still being able to poach players next year. No more draft concessions - but they will get picks with the 17 year old draft/trade thing...
-
I think so too. I just hope peoples noses are not too bent when Neeld punches them out of shape. People on here are right to say that footy clubs don't have the same structure as typical organisations. They are right - and here lies the problem. The CEO isn't the head of the club. Schwab is important but the club has to be driven by the coach, because they are the ones in charge of the mechanics - the players. The coach is in charge, and to pretend otherwise the way this structure is set out can only lead to confusion and frustration when Neeld doesn't listen to his Sports Performance mentor or his Dev Strategist peer and does what we have asked him to do - be the Head Coach of the club. The buck stops with the coach and we should cut the BS and realise it.

I don't really know what there was to 'get'... When it comes to a number of select posters on here I don't think there is much to get.
-
And the penny drops... Welcome back Range Rover! Are you allowed back or is this a short term visit? I guess you have started enough threads to suggest you don't think you will be here long...
-
I am quite certain that there is overlap in what each person thinks is there area of responsibility. That is natural, but it will be a concern if people do not acquiesce to Neeld. He is the King, because we gave him the role of the King. Neeld is the man; our success/failure is on his head. And Misson and Viney shouldn't be considered on the same level as Neeld - this is my major issue. Neeld should be driving our direction and I dare say the structure is slightly more dynamic than what you have seen on the board at AAMI...
-
Ball had degenerative OP. Who is to say that he was always destined to improve? I also think his career will be restricted. Who knows? I'm sure Misson isn't perfect. The best make mistakes. If you're looking for perfection, you won't stop looking.
-
Why is it a waste of time to point out that the originator of said rumour is proven to be less informed than the average BigFooty poster? If you don't like your threads to be criticised - think twice before creating one. And there is a Rumours Thread for a reason...
-
If they don't give it, the GWS blokes will be out of there "like a bat out of hell."

Can you let this go? I do not need a lift, nor would I ask for one. As for that interview, I have heard it. Sporadically informative. And lastly, I am not questioning the existence of said structure. I am questioning the effectiveness and purposefulness of said structure.
-
He's dedicated and a Demon. And a leader even when injured. He will be a fine captain, or co-captain, we will see what his teammates and the new FD think. If Misson can get him right, it makes us a much better team.
-
Intriguing. There is a board at AAMI stipulating the org structure? Can someone get in there with an iPhone or something? All things being equal - a Senior Coach should be above the High Performance Manager and the Dev Strategist...
-
Are you taking the p!ss again? I never can tell, apparently... I would be surprised if Neeld wants to keep him. Good, honest bloke but new coaches rarely keep 27/28 year old fringe players...
-
Needs to work harder to get to contests and also back himself to get off his man and rebound from defence. Could be a very good player.
-
I really don't know if this will be the structure. I can see some issues with Craig being above Neeld - but I can understand that structure. But I don't think it is comfortable to have Neeld and Viney on the same level. Neeld should be in charge of as much as possible if he is to be respected as the head coach. Misson is definitely below him and I would put Viney below him too. Malthouse has said to him that he has to dominate the place for three years to stamp his authority on the place and the others should understand why. We chose Neeld for what he will bring, and we should let him bring it.
-
After saying that he is too slow for the midfield I can only see him competing for a spot there if he stays at the club past this trade week. Is a big body and that is in his favour, but I would think even he would want to move on at this stage.

Range Rover?

Was it right or wrong for Neeld to be in the Magpie rooms after the game?

For a rookie poster, the OPer sure does have a lot of very strong opinions - most of them against Collingwood... Neeld was there as he should be. He was apart of the Collingwood 2011 team that lost a GF, have a chat to your mates about it. The grab of Sanderson was great footy. Any Adelaide fans annoyed he was happy for them are kidding themsleves - these are people. People the Demons and Crows have poached for the very success, and near-success, that they involved themselves in on Saturday. They lived-breathed-died footy for their clubs to get them to the GF - they can enjoy it two weeks removed. -
Another special one. Get some mass on his hindquarters and he will be a Dal Santo/Pendlebury type player.
-
How long have you been here? Put your hands up people.
-
Was really good for about 3 months. I think he will be special. He has always had the footy IQ, and the workrate has been there since 2009, now he has the hunger for the contest and confidence in his size and ability. I'm going to enjoy his career.

Neeld is the coach of your club primarily because Garry Lyon trusted the judgement of Mick Malthouse...

I should write something but I am laaazzzyyy. Thanks for the site, Andy. Thanks to the mods too. The upgrade is quite simply magnificent. For the almost-newbies turned away by the refresh of the site - the controls are great, the folder right next to the thread title takes you directly to the first post you haven't seen. Just great.

Eddie and Mick have made the Pies a force in the AFL. I hope the MFC can emulate the feat. Don't get the hatred - our coach is our coach primarily because Mick Malthouse was his mentor and is a huge wrap for him. And our Garry Lyon trusted the word of Mick Malthouse... Shock horror.
