  1. The Bros on the Deebrief podcast criticised our stance of ‘giving Kozzie all the time he needs’ to make a decision and to push for a signature now; tacitly pushing for an ultimatum on the eve of the season. Do people actually think that is a good thing to do?! Hands up who is that dim, to think that would be good for him this season or that it would keep him around long term? Bizarre.
  2. Yes, that would be a tactic toward achieving an action to realise a tenet of the strategy. But there are no promises in the complicated world of building, capital works, approvals, and political influence - just like there are no promises in the elite and cut throat world of AFL and yet we did realise the lofty promise of the strategy with flags in the men’s game and women’s game. Truly remarkable results from this board.
  3. Tell me, what else did the Strategic Plan say? Most importantly, about success on field? I will wait.
  4. Not if it isn’t the right proposal or the right requirements. Our current situation is more than adequate to make sure of something and not over leverage and ruin the club for a nebulous goal of being ‘under one roof.’ Strategic Plans are important and to have a North Star to aim toward is required in any endeavour. But don’t let yourself be behoved to words in a document if it isn’t the right time or place. And be wary of those that pick and choose what is held to measurement and decree.
  5. It can be the worst in this competition and still elite enough for this competition. But that is not what one connotes with the words “worst facilities in the league.”
  6. Great news that the club thinks he has another 3 years in him. So dominant in the finals last year. Best FB I have ever seen in the red and blue.
  7. Jeez, what heroes we must have been in 2021 to win the whole thing. What plucky things to win with only a large indoor training area instead of a cavernous indoor training area, and shared aquatic recovery facilities instead of facilities that sit idle for 3 days a week. I live a suburb away from the AIS and I have been to AAMI and Casey and we have enough to build the best athletes and compete and win.
  8. Money. Poured. In. And you are right about the white collar jobs - increasingly it is a BURDEN for organisations to lease office space in a world that is becoming more virtual.
  9. What’s with this ‘a home base for us all!!’ Nonsense? It is an effing training and admin co-location. It’s not going to be a social club that you can have a $3 beer at like you may have thought you did in the 70s. That is not happening. So it is really about having control of a training base near Brunton Ave that we have this predisposition to ascertain. Meanwhile we have two sets of elite facilities, one of which is going to continue to have money poured into it 45 mins out at Casey. In a growth corridor where actual people live - if we care about that. So we have our priorities right - having a competitive team to, you know, do the raison d’être of being a football club; WINNING FLAGS. Our current facilities allow us to take time getting this decision oh so right - and we won’t have to rush into a decision to get our admin and FD into the same building closer to Brunton Ave to not talk to each other…
  10. Also the abandonment of ‘,,,’ instead of an actual ellipsis means he was doing it as a diabolical attack on the sanity of yours truly all these years.
  11. That is such a tangential excuse. You can make the fixture fairer from the POV of exposure and to maximise gate for clubs, regardless of the number of games. Why does Carlton get to play so many Friday night games? Why isn’t Essendon treated like Hawthorn when they are not much better than them (although I am loving the Hawks being treated like the minnows they are in their hearts). Anyway, the funding can’t be the same because the fixture is built for the broadcaster, not for clubs or for fairness.
  12. A toast to the downfall of Mordor; may it come in our lifetime and for long enough to enjoy.
  13. Give Alan Richardson Publishing access to the website and he can update the page on the can FCS. Its amazing how a little thing is so meaningful. Do the basics right and all that.
  14. Oh and of course I hope there was a fair and open election for these positions. Doesn’t say anything on the website… The Demon Hawk and his 12 mates won’t like that. Not one bit. They all about that ‘gooooood governance’ - they can sniff that [censored] all day long…
  15. So impressive that these two will have such amazing careers after both had to go through the [censored] and also had injury issues to overcome.
  16. If CP5 dominates a September like he did in 2021, it would be hard to look past. Especially, and please take this the right way Lever-ites; from a barking defender who rarely has an opponent. Cue Neil Degrasse Tyson meme… Gawn is more Petracca than Lever and I think CP5 would be great, arrogant, flighty fun and this club needs that.
  17. Well, I am woke and I was one of the first Death Riders… I think it’s fine. And I can come up with worse too…
  18. Hate to be critical of your post, I just think it’s critical to point out that sports commentary is at a critical point with its critique.
  19. Not entirely sure what this means but Nudge - where were you in trade week?
  20. ‘Pretty critical role’ = playing on a wing. At this point; if all roles are critical, none are.
